Interplay Extrait

First bottle I bought was from someone selling their bottle on eBay, it is an absolutely lovely fragrance. My first bottle is running out though so I decided to buy two more (one for me and one for my mother) during their 4th of July sale. I ended up sending both bottles back. There was a putrid plastic smell in the fragrances, it was awful. I'm waiting to hear back because I asked them to check out the fragrances and see if it was a bad batch or something. Hope it was because this fragrance was solid. Edit: I received my two new bottles and they smell great, if you ever run into the same issue I had, just contact customer service. Another update: I bought a second bottle of nostalgia and sadly have come across the same issue I had with Interplay Extrait, compared to the first bottle which is great this second bottle smells terrible. I reached out to AF and told them about this ongoing issue, now for them to fix the problem and exchange the fragrance they want ME to pay the shipping costs? As I did with Interplay extrait, I will be sending them the new bottle along with a small sample of the original. This is getting out of hand, I bought Paris nights, forbidden plum (both smell great), and nostalgia (horrible) at the same time. There is no consistency and if they somehow mess up the fragrance even if you provide evidence of how their fragrances have variances and horrible harsh ones at that, you have to foot an extra bill for their mistakes. I will no longer be purchasing from this company.

BR540 Eau de Parfum | BR540 Extrait | Interplay Extrait 70% Dentist Office | 30% Dentist Office | 40% Dentist Office 30% Cotton Candy | 60% Cotton Candy | 40% Cotton Candy 00% Bitter Almond | 10% Bitter Almond | 20% Bitter Almond Interplay Extrait smells to me like a slightly fresher and nuttier and better blended version of the Extrait. In BR540 there is a clearer separation of the sweetness and the dentist office smell and usually I'll smell one without the other. Very rarely will I smell them together unless I put my nose to the sprayed area. In Interplay Extrait it's all one scent that I smell with all elements together, including the almond. It also feels more versatile than either of the BR540s, like I could wear this in the summer without choking people out (max temperature here is around 27C so it doesn't get very hot). Longevity: seems to last around 4 to 6 hours on my skin. Projection: Around arms length and has an airiness. Not a projection beast. Seems to leave a decent scent trail. Both BR540s smell higher quality but Interplay Extrait is a great cohesive scent on its own.

Great spillage and super long lasting. A good quality fragrance. The opening reminds me of instant crush but after testing this out for a few weeks it’s smells extremely similar to br540. Let it settle into your skin and it dries down to being practically the same. I was skeptical at first bc of the opening but when I put on the og after testing this my nose didn’t notice much of a difference or any at all. If you don’t want to splurge on the original this is a quality dupe. I layer it sometimes with outremer vanille which has a cotton candy note. Makes it more feminine and sweet. Sillage is good. Was complimented at the grocery store where masks are mandated. Everyone in line and cashier said I smelled good even though I couldn’t smell it on me as I had applied it many hours earlier. That’s is the same magic of the original. You may not smell it but others do from far away!

Hany, you got this on point! I agree with others that say this is closer to BR540 EDP that Extrait but that was the reason I bought this. I already own BR540 Extrait and wanted a lighter version that I could wear for everyday use and it’s exactly what I got with this. This is my first purchase from Alexandria Fragrances along with Fructus Virginis and I am so impressed with both of them. Love at first sniff. Currently debating to buy a 55ml bottle before it’s out of stock! Update: I have been wearing this for a few days now and the drydown turns masculine on my skin. This does not take away the love I have for this scent as it's still a love and I really admire what Hany has done here but I have now gifted this to my dad as he loved it as well, and I feel he wears it much better than I do.

Another great fragrance from Alex.. I been very impressed with this house thus far. I will be honest when I first sprayed it, i wasn't too sure. I was getting more of a leather note or something on first blast, but as it dries down, it just keeps getting better and better. I also like casino royal nights a lot as well from DUA, a rivaling company... However... Alex isn't as sweet, and a better value. So far it is my favorite clone of br540 out of the ones I have tried. 1. Interplay extrait 2. DUA royal nights 3. Parfums vintage sunset in heaven.

Ill start this off with letting you know that I fell in LOVE with the original MFK extrait, but realistically can’t afford it right now. I don’t know if I don’t have a good enough sniffer or what, but I CAN NOT smell the difference between this one and the original MFK, they smell identical to me. I’m not getting 95% or other percentages that other people are getting, it legit smells like the same perfume. So happy I found this.

Decadent. Interplay Extrait will be on rotation this autumn and winter! Though I wish it lasted longer, the scent is beautiful enough for me to overlook that aspect. Longevity: 7 hours on my skin Sillage: Moderate Overall: 8/10

This stuff is great - it gets a buy rating from me. To be frank though: I like the parfums vintage clone (sunset in heaven) better. Both are great however

something unusual...which is something I cheer for! smells a bit like biscuits, not the sugar laden ones but a bit closer to those savory ones. bit salty. I won't kid myself into thinking that the ambergris is the real deal in this perfume (well that is too expensive for this price range I guess) but whatever it is (or combination of whatever), it is interesting! I have not tried the other version of Interplay so no idea, if this extrait smells different or lasts longer or more resemblant of Baccarat Rouge 540 extrait. Anyhow, recommended for those who look for something smooth, unusual, delicious in a sugar-free way :)

Not a bad scent by any means. Has that sugary, cotton candy and almond vibe to it that just draws attention. I've worn this and been asked by family members why I'm wearing a female scent, so you may get some different reception from people. I go nose-blind to it almost immediately which took the joy out of it for me and I ended up selling it. It is of course a clone of Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. The original is VERY expensive so I can't recommend it if you care about your money. Buy this excellent impression and thank your lucky stars AF makes great clone fragrances.

Bought it on a lark. I have to endorse noseblind's assessment. Its sweeter and nuttier than BR40, the opening is different but the drydown gets fairly close. Not a beastmode scent but its nice albeit not an especially long lasting scent. I like it; but I think my 21 year old daughter likes it more than I do.

my br540 and several other frags were left in my car for a few days during the spring while i was moving. the temp would drop at night then warms up a little during the day. that was enough to completely destroy my 90% full br540, but my other frags were fine. I cant afford to turn around and spend another 300 for that juice and i only had it for a year. I was yearning for that scent( hint, was yearning). I blind bought interplay extrait. Well its similar to br540 more than the br540 extrait. that burn sugar, cotton candy, woodsy, almond and saffron is all in that bottle. differences... the harshness at the top in 540 is mild but amped up in interplay. the sweetness is a toss up. longevity is won by interplay ex. not perfect but it can not fill those shoes, its too harsh.

I think Alexandria Fragrances has some really good dupes (Zion, Agar, Chic Magnet), but this is not one of them in my opinion. This has an off-putting underlying note that I cannot put my finger on that is not in 540 or 540 Extrait. This smells closer to Mancera Instant Crush than either version of 540.

I picked up several of this house's glass bottle scents after the Valentine's day article recommending their Damascus rose. Turns out this one is my favorite. The almond, ambergris, and citrus give it a very sweet buttery citrus candied pastry effect that makes me feel both happy and delicious, that lovely rich balance of sweet, salt, and fat that gives a frosted fruit cake the rich flavor payoff. I don't typically go for fruity or gourmands, but this is delightful to my nose and it will be a go-to this summer during warm weather. It reminds me of the new Ex Idolo scent Love and Crime. I received some Alexandria bottles in a beautiful blue velvet drawstring bag, and some frags arrived in a nicely designed 2-color paperboard nesting box. Tangentially, I've noticed there are a lot of really strong comments on here about the brand itself. I'm not sure why the strong emotions positive or negative, nothing about these scents provoke my strong passion. However, the house seems to use some really nice blends and accords that I typically only come across in the niche houses, but as far as sillage and longevity go, you get what you pay for: the smoke, spice and ouds play it safe. This is great to me. I don't like to assault the people around me with my scent, so the strength of these blends suit me. Fragrances endear me more when noticeable standing very close to someone, not from 5 feet away, personal preference of course.

Having tried a sample of BR540 EDP, I fell in love with the smell but I’m not dropping that much on a perfume no way no how. I’m glad there are some good dupes and was excited to try this one. I’m sure to a more experienced nose there are differences, but I put BR540 on one wrist and interplay extrait on the other, gave my husband no backstory just told him I was trying some perfumes and which one did he like best. He doesn’t know anything about perfume and has never heard of BR. At first he indicated that he preferred the wrist with Interplay, then asked to smell them again. « They smell exactly the same ». Case closed as far as I’m concerned! I wouldn’t ever spend that kind of money on BR540, but glad I can have that lovely smell anyway.

I havent smelled BR540 but I have smelled Ariana Grande Cloud, and I will tell you that although they have similar DNA, this one completely outclasses cloud. Where cloud goes into a milky, coconut, you get much more almond and ambroxan in Interplay which gives it a nice, subtle creaminess opposed to a high-school sugar filled fragrance. The ambroxan in this gives it that slight masculine touch that makes it safe for guys to wear, but IMO, this definitely leans feminine. It has that burnt sugar (but not quite cotton candy) vibe that is just so addicting. It's strong, but light and airy. A great buy for someone trying to get something elegant but not totally in your face.

A curious fragrance indeed thanks to that bitter almond and saffron kick right out of the gate. Inspired by BR540 Extrait, though I've not had the pleasure, to me that initial sharpness is quite possibly indicative of the heating of the crystal, an interpretation of what it (melding silicates) would smell like. It is unique amongst my fragrance collection and unique is what I tend to gravitate toward in the Perfume World. Excellent sillage, and if it does, like many say, smell extremely close if not spot on to the MFK creation than Hany has given you a gift with this one for the price!

Just purchased this on recommendation because my beloved BR540 extrait is becoming far too expensive (cost of living crisis 🙄) so I thought this was worth a try. So pleased I did. This is absolutely the closest dupe I’ve found. Ariana Grande Cloud is nothing like BR540. I bought a small bottle and then sold it on eBay. It was much too sweet and sugary for me. Even if I have to keep re spraying this one, at this price it doesn’t matter. I’m not sure who recommended it but I’m so glad they did.

Upon first sniff, I thought it smelled almost identical to Ariana Grande Cloud, but then I sprayed them side by side, and Cloud is without a doubt sweeter. Cloud has a fluffy, whipped cream sweetness, while Interplay Extrait has a more quiet, polished sweetness. "Polished" like a dentist office, frankly, but not in a bad way!
