The God Father

Recovering alcoholic so I had no interest in smelling like alcohol and avoided sampling this one. Well I have had a bottle of it now for months. When I first sampled it I was reminded of pulp by byredo. After wearing it a few times aside from the fantasy "whiskey" note, it smells like it reads. It's warm, spicy, sweet and musky. This alcohol/whiskey I read in many reviews I believe is purely due to the combination of power of suggestion and the way these notes blend together to create different sensations people will associate with a hard drink. The ambery warmth, the taste of something sweet and sour, the spiceyness of aged oak (barrels), the raw, dry aromatic musk mallow. It's a great fragrance, projection is massive and longevity is enormous. Projects strongly for 8+ hours on clothes. Highly recommend, especially if you like Alessandro Gualtieri fragrances, the DNA is here. Don't be deterred by the comments on how boozy this is, I know what it smells like to be saturated in alcohol, this is not it, this is a perfume and it's a beautiful fragrance.

I feel bad because Baraonda is to me the PERFECT fragrance and i've bought a dupe. However this is like 95% there and smells the exact same in the air and up close very close, really hard to tell the difference. Performance is amazing as well, 8 to 10 hours and projects strongly for 2-3 hours then is a moderate projector for anohter 2 hours then it's a skin scent! Smells like whiskey backed by some soft smooth woods and a bit of musk and rose to balance everything. Smells like Baraonda then - perfect 10/10 fragrance

Opened with whiskey, woody notes and ambrette. All very well blended and nothing like alcohol at all. You won’t smell like a drunkard drenched in this, I assure you. The dry down smelled very close to Santal 33 without the pickles but with whiskey instead. The silage for me was moderate though many did think much better of it. Lasted on my skin for four hrs more or less and about twelve hrs on clothing.

This is a very good impression, the original is sharper and has more bite almost like better whiskey was used. This is very close to the original and a very good fragrance. Smells like an empty whiskey glass with a musky rose. Very fun fragrance to have in your wardrobe.

Never smelled the original, but it's opulent, woody, boozie, yet gourmondish and sweet though not syrupy. Smells luxurious in the category of OudWood... no it dont smell like oud wood. Got the travel size and ordered now a 60ml bottle. Clone or not, good is good.

"You smell like alcohol" - my girlfriend's first words to me when I walked in wearing this. Personally, I love it. But you really need to want to smell like whiskey poured over a bowl of fruit to like this.

Like pulling the cork from a whisky. All the smoothness, woodiness, warmth and suggestion of sweetness without the alcoholic burn. Fine stuff.

Woody, boozy, masculine and old school. I love this and it's my new go to evening/weekend scent.

Smooth dry down and fragrance great for informal settings. Opens with a strong boozy/woody note. It almost has an oud tinge to it, although oud is not a note. As it dries down, it smells like an aged liquor cabinet. Reminds me of the smell coming from my parents liquor cabinet they would open four times a year. Makes sense...whiskey and woods. Longevity and projection are above average...you definitely get your money’s worth. I like it, but it would not get regular use. I might pick up a bottle for nostalgia. Certainly not a blind buy...get a sample first. 10/12/20 Update - was able to sample OG. Although the blending and depth of OG is better, this does do a pretty good job of getting close to OG. Believe it or not, the OGs longevity and performance is even better than this...and a Godfather is already above average in these two categories.

This is straight whiskey. I do not say this in a negative way. I actually dig it. Just understand that you will undoubtedly smell like you’ve taken a bottle of jack daniels and rubbed its contents on your body. Longevity is great and it projects like a monster

Owned and sampled hundreds of fragrances This is one of the best And yeah it smells as described I hate whiskey I love this Very well blended Enjoy !

Gave it to a friend that has only ever worn Salvauge. and wanted to try a fragrance from another "group". I love the longevity and the projection, but the dominant note seemed stultifying to me. I wanted to wear it and lived with it for a week, but couldn't get on the "other side" of it. The "problem", whatever it is, is me, not the fragrance.

This is a very good interpretation of Baraonda - I'd say it's not quite as good as Alexandria's superb take on Intoxicated, Millisime Imperial, Elysium, Black afgano or Naxos but better than their very good impressions of Pardon, Herod and Reflection man. Just so I don't get accused of being a shill - Alexandria's Bleecker street and Baccarat Rouge are awful. So please no-one think I'm selling here. This is good - not quite as thick or rich as the original but it is close and is a good performer too. Given the price point this is a really good alternative because a passer by wouldn't know the difference and I myself have to really dig my nose in after the 30 minute mark because this is where these do become very close. The main difference would be those first 30 mins where the depth of Baraonda is noticeable but the Godfather catches up quickly Well done Alexandria. A nice pocket friendly recreation.

Amazing fragrance, deep and rich. As other reviewers made clear this smells like whiskey. I wore it in the office and two colleagues commented that I smelled boozy, probably it was not a good idea. However for casual use I would totally recommend this juice if you like the notes listed above.

I don't have them both to compare atm so I am going by memory, but AF's God father is pretty darn close. The only thing is the whiskey note isn't of the quality of the original from my memory. Smells great, I need to try it on skin and come back with an update to this comment.

This is a wonderful dry and, yes, boozy scent. It also has a deep skankiness to it that I love. The sillage is my favorite part, as it can resemble dry tobacco or even leather, unless.you get a good whiff of the booze. It is uber masculine, and sexy as hell!
