Coquet

I find Coquet a real master piece. It’s bold, it’s impossible to get it off the clothes, it screams I’m here! I arrived! It make me feel untouchable. Coquet became my ‘feel bold’ perfume (I also wear Philosykos by Diptyque, more a ‘feel tender’ perfume) I don’t see Coquet as an intellectual perfume, but it may be reflective. It’s not provocative but it’s bold. This goes to show how Perfumery can help us think about big themes...more than just simple scents...our actions, our consciousness, the I, the I’s relations with others, us as humans, us in nature, the molecules we share with nature When I wear Coquet I smell the resin, sticky, round, amber red colour, warm, comforting to be alone with yourself. Like a clove bud, spice mixed with milk (like a chai latte), peonies and lilacs, honey, vanilla... a perfume for the skin that makes me feel strong! The name is strange that way...coquette is a light woman...this is a punch!

Coquet is a perfume that flirts with destiny... to live today and die tomorrow! Flesh reincarnated as carnation. I feel its fatal charm, my ego that screams “me”... “I am Beauty incarnate”, it murmurs, goddess of fertility, the hunt, savage beasts and the Moon. These perfumes are unique. They are not simple, but they are fascinating! Coquet is certainly a niche perfume - so weird, abstract and animal like. it is pleasant hot, spicy, milky, appetizing and gourmet. Its heart is reminds me of a scary mix of oily male body, burning tires and moth balls. And the boxes are very beautiful : a ceramic bottle, a small funnel and a paper roll are inside.

Coquet appears equally powerful, but on a more glamorous path. It instantly reminded my of an old curved staircase, covered in heavy red velvet carpets, softening your footsteps while walking down into a ball room with massive crystal chandeliers, in the early 60s. It is wild yet kind, loud, yet soft. I would wear it in the evening, walking around a city, passing strangers, having them smell me thinking, that they just missed out on an extravagant soirée.
