Vaudou

Vaudou is an alchemy of scents where the spirits mix with tempos and dances... not a simple sweet smell, it is a magnoli-ous perfume that the wind brings from Africa! Here, the shapes of nature possess spiritual powers. Oozing resins or smoky incenses. Bitter herbs or tentacular roots. Mossy stones or scintillating minerals. In this Earth sanctuary imagined by Will Inrig, each spirit has his own pulse and smell. The drummer’s sacred rhythm drives the spirit’s servant into a trance... at last, the spirit arrives and takes possession... the servant begins to dance. Not a sombre zombie perfume... no such stereotypes allowed here. Instead, from this vivid, folkloric fragrance, I learn of life in society, respect for nature, phytotherapy and ancestral culture. Even more important, I feel a unique symbiosis between man and the world in which he lives... a vast mycorrhizal network. Vaudou is timeless in the true sense of the word, as its harmony goes beyond time! These perfumes are unique. They are not simple, but they are fascinating! Vaudou, the bouquet (to my nose, smells like lilies, white magnolia, orange blossom ) grows into a woody and earthy base note reminding me of ginger and saffron, black molasses, barbecue and leather. the mix is dark, wild and rich - biologic and so sensual. its density and complexity gives it big personality And the boxes are very beautiful : a ceramic bottle, a small funnel and a paper roll are inside. I like better vaudou, but I also like coquet. It is hard to choose just one :)

Wearing Vaudou and having it evolve on my wrist, I felt like walking into an old lady's cloth tent at the far end of a funfair, where she had been burning rare herbs for the past thirty years. A thorough, wonderfully balanced, unexpectedly strong and very warm earthy incense. It makes you want to sit down, close your eyes and inhale (yes inhale) the air around you to let is fully collapse upon your body, to be buried by it.
