This is similar to Boss Man Orange, that being said this still is a nice fragrance and is just enough different you could have both. This is simplicity done right. 4 notes, but you would never guess that. Starts off peppery sweet and in about 20 minutes dries down to a cedar smell. Performance is not as bad as some of the others have indicated I get decent performance right at about 5 to 6 hours, but I still can smell it on my clothes and on my skin next morning. Presentation is awesome and the bottle is thick heavy glass. For me I could wear this anytime any place. Ok, it’s not a beach Cologne but indoors all year.

I love this fragrance. It is almost impossible to offend, though it can come off a little sweet when first sprayed. Apple is a hit or miss note for me, and sometimes it can be too powerful or sweet. This apple is very nice, albeit a little unnatural. When paired with pepper, cedar, and incense, it becomes a wonderful aroma. It is long lasting on my skin, although I can go nose blind to it without realizing it. I often overspray for this reason, but as I said it is virtually inoffensive. The best price is this can be had for $20/100ml. That is a steal for a very wearable and enjoyable fragrance.

I have a group of fragrances that I really enjoy but which I probably won't wear outside the house. Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet, a couple of things from the Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo line, a few Guerlain products all fit into this category. Dunhill Custom is one of them. I love to overspray it on a cold day and lay about the house reading or listening to music. The simplicity of this fragrance is a delight. Apple, pepper, a touch of cedar, and incense. I get decent longevity from it, but as I said, I overspray it. A steal at twenty dollars.

Absolutely an amazing scent. Incredible opening. Great Dry Down. Super versitile. Sweet, Smokey, Spicy...All Man. Right down to the bottle. Excellent presentation. Lacking in longevity but it is not a sin to reapply. So who cares. You can purchase 2ml refillable decants that fit in your pocket. A little shot on the neck and you get to experience it from the start all over again. I paid under $40 bucks Blind Buy. Money well spent. Much love. Definitely a wrist sniffer that evokes a smile everytime you bury your nose into your arm.

Anyone think this smells like Dr Pepper? My appologies to the serious connoisseurs out there. I mean that in a really good way....something in there creates a Carmelised, sweet, almondy accord which to me is lovely. As it matures on the skin a little it gets less sweet and the pepper comes into play...wood and incense give it a warming effect definitely one for the winter months. I've liked all the Dunhill fragrances I've tried and this one is no exception shame they're hard to track down unless you blind buy. I LOVE it!!!!

This is a truly beautiful fragrance, the opening burst is glorious, there's no other word for it, that apple note is just fabulous, I couldn't get enough of, I also really loved the incense drydown, sadly it just doesn't last very long, I plastered my clothes and self with it, and after a few hours, gone, but I could still smell yesterday's Drakkar intense. Edit, try not to drop the bottle on your foot, this thing is heavy, it hurts.

This is one of the first bottles of men's fragrances that I bought after I was back from the rehab center (Osteomyelitis of the spine). This was supposed to make me feel good. It did more. It helped me realize that I still had much to live for. The fragrance got me compliments and I enjoyed smelling good., dressing better, and stepping out. What a wonderful pick me up. I'm always gonna try to keep a bottle around. Maybe this one.

Tried it in IBN BATOOTA Mall yesterday, simply mind blowing smell. After an hour of testing some whirl of smell passes by me time to time and I wonder from where its coming... then I remember I have sprayed it on my hand and look, I unintentionally bring my hand near to my nostril just to have a sniff like an addicted person need his drugs and it continued happening till the next morning when the smell vanished off my hand.

Somewhere in between D&G The One and Boss Bottled. You've probably smelled this before but I wouldn't call it generic. The apple is not overly sweet so don't worry about that; this fragrance is well balanced, if not pretty linear. Performance, unfortunately, is horrible. You get what you pay for in this case. This would make a great signature fragrance if it lasted more than a few hours and projected even a little bit.

The notes say it all... a delicious woody smokey base with a bit of gentle pepper, and a lovely apple top note. The initial apple notes are somewhat sweet to begin, and mellow into something smoother and quite relaxed after the first hour. Quite persistent and easily noticeable after 3 hours, and a comfortable (not difficult to find) skin scent for a couple more. Very good.

I ́ve received this one today. It was a blind buy. I was curious to smell this fragrance because of the reviews here. It is, actually, very similar to Baldessarini Ambre. And i ́m happy with that, because i like very much B. Ambre. Ande the bottle?? Is gorgeous and very heavy. One of those fragrances that looks great on the shelves of perfume lovers!

I really like this one. Ok I agree with those people who declare that longevity is not so good. Just spray more guys!! Custom is a hidden gem. Apple, insence, cedar. Perfect for autumn and winter. My wife loves it so much on me. Don't hesitate. Buy it. You won't regret it.

Custom Alfred Dunhill for men is a really grate great one from Alfred Dunhill , one of the best red apples Scents I smelled. Smell : 9/10. Longevity : 8 hours. Projection : almost 10 hours. Bottle design: Simply Superb. P.S. Thump's UP Alfred Dunhill

Classy, warm, gorgeous smell, Incense and spice I get. Shocking longevity and sillage, which is surprising and disappointing. The bottle is really nice and heavy. Lasted about 3 hours, very weak.

This fragrance seems like a joke by Dunhill because it disappears immediately after spraying. Such a shame, because the scent is actually very seductive.

Blind bought this as my first dive into the Dunhill fragrance range and I have to say I’m more impressed than I thought I’d be with all the negative reviews on it. Firstly the bottle is real classy looking and heavy ( slight minus for the cheap plastic cap but I got it for 20 of the kings notes so can’t grumble much) the Atomiser has a good smooth push to it too. Initially found it very fresh and sweet with a nice tang in the background, apple is real nice and prominent, 10-15 min mark you get the pepper punching in more with the slight incense note becoming more noticeable. Around the 30 -45 min mark the scent changes to a sweeter woody smell and this smooths it off more where it generally stays for the rest of the wearing timeframe. With 2 sprays each side of my neck and 2 on my inner forearm I got around 3-4 hrs until it became a skin tight scent , you could maybe go heavier with the sprays and hit your clothing for more of a kick but sometimes it’s nice to have a fragrance that ISN'T beast mode for 10-12 hrs especially when you should be assessing where and why you are wearing it and not killing half the room instantly ! Definitely a throwback to scents of the past but at my young age of 45 it’s all I need sometimes to blend with the new age Elixir wearings we all have in our faces. A nice scent you can enjoy yourself or with someone cuddled up on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The quality is of a good standard and as being my first Dunhill experience it definitely has made me want to check out more now. A Father’s Day gift to myself well worth the gamble.

This is a comforting fragrance. Cozy is the word that comes to mind. It's elegant but unique. This would be a perfect fragrance for long drives in the fall, when you're visiting family. I'd wear it at home, maybe while sipping wine after a long day's work or while pondering life. Or perhaps I'd wear it once I wake up from sleeping in on a day off. Add in a nice cup of coffee. I'd call it inoffensive. Probably not one for the office though. It's not really attention grabbing, it's just kind of pleasantly there. Sometimes that's all you need. I have mixed feelings on this fragrance. It's enjoyable. I don't really get the apple note. Maybe it's hiding behind the other notes. Maybe it's because it's winter and it's not projecting. I get hints of incense. To me, it's somehow fresh, probably because of the cedar. It's also slightly powdery? Somebody else here in the reviews said it smells like peppery diapers, and I can kind of see that. Longevity sucks, I applied it less than 45 minutes ago and it's already more or less a skin scent. I practically bathed myself in it and it's gone. It also makes me sneeze when I take a big whiff of it from on my wrist, but take that as you will.

Alfred dunhill custom is a very potent creation is it's own right. The most dominant notes to my skin are the peppers and the incense making this scent very spicy and warm. The apple brings some youthful vibe with a little sweetness and the cedar just rouds things out and adds some freshness! It's all good and happy until you realize that it lasts for a maximum of 2 hours. Very bad longevity (maybe it's just me) and not enough projection keep this fragrance from shining and keeps you from exploring all it's depth! Such a shame, I really love the smell, the bottle and the packaging, but the longevity just kills everything! I still wear it from time to time, and recommend it if you don't mind respraying from time to time! :)

Update. Still all my original thoughts, still very pleasant and enjoyable. We had guests over probably 2 hours after I applied it. The first thing one of the guests said upon entering our home was that something smelled really good. Perhaps it's an easy fragrance to go nose blind to. Maybe it does as a matter of fact not only project, but also last significantly longer than we give it credit for. If you're into layering, a good fresh pineapple scent blends beautifully with this. I used Str8 Redcode (a phenomenal cheapie with surprising performance), but I'm sure Aventus or something similar would compliment Custom nicely.

What a beauty! Dunhill Custom may have one of the nicest presentations of any fragrance I own. The bottle is heavy and well designed, it looks like a piece of fine crystal. The rich amber colored juice simply looks divine. Then you spray it. If I hadn't read these reviews prior to smelling this it might have been one of the biggest disappointments in fragrance history. As it was, I wasn't expecting much and that's exactly what I received, not much depth, not much length, not much reach. It's pretty enough, just hollow.This is one fragrance where a reformulation would be embraced by the community!

My go to scent for evening wear since receiving this. A really nice inoffensive scent. I would say it leans towards being more formal/evening wear and remains quite classy throughout. In the opening you get fresh apple, it then turns slightly spicy in the middle. The base is smooth, warm and slightly boozy. I love it, but the projection is on the weak side. Although a little weak, it smells amazing to me. My signature evening scent. Dunhill describe this as 'made in order to reflect the masculine elegance, sophistication and tradition of this luxurious brand' I think this description is spot on!

Great scent. Mature, classy, elegant. It is more for older guys, but older guys need fragrances too. That is not a negative. What is a HUGE negative however is the longevity of the scent. The scent is so good, but you only get a few minutes with it. I don't feel it lasts much past 1-2 hours and is weak by hour 2 if it does make it. If they could find a way to get this even to 4-6 hours I would never take it off from November through February (as it is only a colder weather scent), but instead I struggle to find an occasion to wear it because I know it might not even last through a dinner.

I really enjoy this scent. To me it has that same mellow quality you find in D&G The One, but it is very much its own scent. The smoky wood dry down provides a nice counter balance to the initial apple and the pepper adds the spark that lifts it. Nicely masculine without trying too hard. What prevents it from becoming a love is its lack of performance. Almost immediately goes to skin and only sticks around for a couple of hours. Heavier spraying does provide a little more sillage, but still has issues.

Not complex but really nice. Smells like an apple based cognac, masculine but a little, just a little, sweet. It's on the same vein as Bentley for men, but less leathery and, in my opinion, more wereable. It's not for a teenager for sure, it would be like when you were a child and wore your daddy's shoes ;P Seriously, it's a mature scent, not for the club, not for attracting girls, it's what I think would wear a confident 30+ years old who knows who he is. And he is an apple based cognac smelling man.

Nothing special in this fragrance,common scent,just as many men's colognes flooding markets these days. Apple and pepper with some smoky notes, sillage are weak enough to be noticed no more than 5 min, longevity is average, about 5 hours close to skin. I own this fragrance as a gift, not because of my choice, and after 4 months still there is more than 95% juice left in the bottle,LOL............... After all, not a bad scent, but it's not for me

Blind bought this one for 20 bucks (100ml). Instantly reminds me of YSL L'homme or Boss Bottled. Kinda sweet, apple-y, soft spicy scent. Very pleasant but kinda boring. This would be a good dumb reach, signature, work, or even date scent if it's your thing. If you like the scents I mentioned, and you have $20 to burn you might wanna check out Dunhill Custom, but you're not missing much.

I absolutely love the smell of Dunhill Custom but..... I wont be repurchasing it due to its poor performance in the longevity and projection departments. This makes me really sad because if it excelled in those areas it would be a permanent in my collection. I hope one day Dunhill sees our complaints and fixes this fragrance. 5/5 for smell 1/5 for projection and longevity.

Custom is a very nice and elegant fragrance! I can smell red apple + cedar mostly and all the notes are very well balanced together! The negative is that from the first minute is a skin scent. But for an intimate situations is perfect! Although the smell is wintery it performs better in warm temperatures. Price is good! Overall I like it!

This smells great and seems more complex than the profile, unfortunately it doesn't last long at all! Unlike every other Dunhill cologne I have, this one seems to just get absorbed or fade away in 30 minutes or less! I really wanted to like this but it has horrible silage and longevity.

I think its a nice scent.. A darkish apple pie kind of smell.. Pretty good to me! Its not niche quality but who would expect it to be? Its a good designer banger that has a nice scent to it.. Performance is eh.. could be a little better. Scent 3.5/5 longevity 3/5 projection 2/5

All AD products are well done customized to meet highest standard of men's needs. The latest one before custom are the 51.3N, it is a very good frag. I don't see why custom wouldn't in the parallel level as previous ones. Can't wait to try it and hope it's available soon

I received a bottle today. While it is not a bad scent, it is not one that is going to be an all time classic. The design of the bottle is impressive. As the previous review stated, it reminds me of Ambre Baldessarini.

It is very pleasant; the apple and incense makes for an interesting composition but it's incredibly short-lived. I'm thinning my collection and am done with weak fragrances, so this one sadly got the axe.

A sweet and pleasant fragrance based on apple and cedar. Well blended with nice silage. Similar to Montblanc Exceptionnel. Exceptionnel a little nicer I think, however, lots of character here.

Got a free sample with an order. As soon as I applied it I thought of jasmine, rose, incense and woody notes before looking at the formulation, somehow these notes create very prominent jasmine note to my nose no apple anywhere to smell. It's a winter night frag. for those who like jasmine and incense. As for me I won't buy the bottle but it's an OK scent, do try before buying. Scent 6/10 Sillage 7/10 Longevity 7/10 about 4 hrs. Value 6/10
