CK One Shock For Him

Absurdously disgustingly cheap bottle for the great fragrance it got inside. I have never seen this thing being advertised anywhere and I cannot help, but blaming Calvin Klein for ruining themselves by poor captaining of their own company. Guys, I see some of you being overzealous for a thingy, that's around 20$. I mean let's be honest choice of women won't be the best for you if you can only afford 20$ to spend on a date. Same goes along other stuff in life. The scent of this bottle (I won't call a perfume intentionally) is one of the best you can get in this price range. Why? Because it is a definitely good designer blend, which we rarely find in arabic dupes. There are designer companies out there, which could have easily sold this for thrice this price and half the volume (like D&G, Valentino, etc.) and you would have appreciated it just because you are a fanboy or biased. Now, I gotta say, that Calvin Klein sells the best designer fragrances at a very reasonable cost to this day and 20$ for a 200ml juice of this kind is like a one great 'welcome home' from a lady for your cheap ass. Depending on your local climate and weather factors, you can easily abuse this even in the summer, when it is windy. It is intoxicatingly fresh and beats the entire Calvin Klein Eternity line imho. There is something I noticed the chemistry of my body does with this fragrance, altering it to something very mature, masculine and appealing to women, once I return from my daily running exercise. I have made it a ritual to always buy me a can of beer after that, so women on the queue in the store would start staring at me and approaching me to get a sniff or two. Just for a comparison almost every other sweet perfume I have, would turn to something like a sweetened vinegar and pickles, so good job here CK.

I loved Dark Obsession and was over the moon when I learned that CK Shock is basically that except with fruity notes instead I believe a more chocolately or some kind of darker/rich top note. I was worried it would be too fruity or sweet. I got the bottle the other day for a great price ($26 for 6.7oz I believe). The minute I opened it I was in love. It was sweeter than I remember, but not overwhelmingly cloying. After inserting the sprayer, I went into the kitchen (I have a 3000+ sq ft house). This scent, not having sprayed it or anything yet, was filling the living room, kitchen, and first bathroom within 5 minutes. I didn't realize it at first until I was like, "What is that beautiful smell? Ohhh the Shock!" Just having the cap laying around, I kept smelling it and smelling it. Despite the potency, it was not overwhelming and was quite pleasant. Whenever the bottle is near me, I get little wafts of it. It is so intoxicating, so beautiful. I love it on my boyfriend. I am tempted to wear it myself around the house I love it so much. I am not sure about projection or sillage yet on the skin, but I get little currents of smell of it from my boyfriend when he's wearing it. I did notice it seems to mellow out relatively shortly (within 3-4 hours) on skin. But you get so much of it for a good price that I think having to reapply is worth it. I also think the new fruity note puts it right on the edge of almost being too sweet but it toes that line well. I am guessing Shock is CK's way of trying to compete with Axe and other body sprays, which is why it is marketed towards younger men. But I think if you don't want to smell like a barbershop or a blue/sport fragrance all the time, this is a good alternative. Would be great for date night, too.

The opening is just how I remember it from years ago...energy drink. It's synthetic in a sweet and addictive way...that orange (or whatever citrus) with the cucumber and herbs converge in a way that just reminds me distinctly of energy drinks. The neon green wording against a black bottle doesn't help either 😆 I love it. It dries down quickly, and it's adorable in it's casual-ness. When I first encountered this one, I was younger, and less jaded. Nostalgia is all over this review, and I'm sorry, but it's a fragrance more for the heart than for a refined palate. Still, this isn't objectively a bad fragrance at all. No, it's nothing particularly special (it's a little like Jazz Club or The One, but less rich and dense), but it's a profile I tend to absolutely fall for. Maybe, in some way, I love the other tobacco spices because this one left an impression on me as a young woman. Hard to know exactly, I have a type though. I nagged my husband into buying this (it's fine, he loves it too), and it's drying down in a lovely way on him. It's ambery, inviting, unpretentious, simple, but it's such a true feel-good fragrance. If he didn't want to wear this, I just would myself to experience it. It's a bit more masculine, with it being herbaceous the way it is, but not terribly so (many warm-leaning fragrances are fairly unisex to my nose, men's or women's, but who cares, wear what you love). Glad to have a bottle of this in the house finally. CK is one of my favorite brands, I must concede. Simple, effective stuff that tends to evoke nostalgia. Extremely easy to wear, but often...not boring. Shock is a love.

Packaging is a bit silly and juvenile. The bright neon SHOCK is just not for me. Atomizer is ok, nothing special. The opening is all sweet, warm tobacco and an undercurrent of spiciness. I'm not really getting any of the clementine or cucumber some other folks smell off the top. Maybe a slight hint of that lavender. The dry down is pretty linear, and the fragrance more or less maintains that sweet, warm tobacco, spiciness, and wood notes. There isn't much evolution, but that's ok because this fragrance is fantastic. Shock definitely reads as an Oriental, dark fragrance. Both longevity and sillage were moderate to weak for me. After about 2 hours, it sort of disappears. But, this EDT is so cheap, you can be very liberal with sprays and reapplication. I'd wear this casually in the cooler months, day or night. I don't think this is a formal/dressy option, and for sure not something I'd wear in warm weather. The value of this fragrance is phenomenal. They are practically giving this stuff away at discounters. I paid $20 for 100mL, and I've seen 200mL for only $30! At this price, I'd recommend CK One Shock for him to anybody who enjoys tobacco fragrances. Overall, I really think this is a can't miss blind buy for anybody who enjoys a tobacco fragrance. It is a bit lacking in longevity and sillage, but again...it's so cheap you can just spray some more. Anecdotally, this is one of my more complimented fragrances, more than some of my more expensive fragrances!

BRUUU wtff this is so good!! Amazing for only 20 bucks, everyone saying this is boring is a literal snob tryna be unique 😭🙏, this stuff is really original and honestly it smells really good, ik a lot of people hate on the bottle but ngl i love the bottle i think it’s really fun😭 reminds me of that y2k older brother vibe with the x box 360 and a can of monster, it smells the part too! And ik that doesn’t sound too good but trust me it’s in the BEST way possible, this is the perfect smell for an alt skater kid, it’s unique, yet super easy to wear even on summer nights, the best way i can describe the smell is just straight cool and laid-back, ya it doesn’t last the longest and it’s not the strongest thing in the world but i mean it’s 20$ so it doesn’t even matter just respray it every time it gets weak, the main notes i smell are the tobacco and amber, it’s not a typical tobacco tho it’s like a really nice sweet dr pepper or cola type tobacco in a really good way , Do I recommend this for everyone? Well sort of , but it’s definitely more geared towards younger people with a more non generic style , like i sed it’s 100% perfect for skateboarders but that might just be me bc that’s the overwhelmingly strong vibe i get from this , you could totally wear this to a date too , it’s basically for everyone but perfect for alt skater people, 10/10 definitely my new go too for the skate park go buy a bottle rn yall
