Desire Silver

I've been looking for a good summer scent, so I picked this up as a blind buy. I usually find advertised "summer" flankers to be either much too soft or generic. Based on the notes listed, my expectation for Silver to be an exception was not high. The opening- fresh immediately, not original but appealing with citrus notes. Projection is pretty strong, especially compared to other citrus fragrances. Definitely noticeable, more bold rather than understated. The lingering dry down is pleasant and present. I get 5-6 hours on a hot day, mix of indoors and outdoors. I find the dry down similar to Azzaro Chrome Legend, though less synthetic. I couldn't wear Chrome Legend- there is a metallic harshness woven into it that I found difficult to tolerate long-term. Desire Silver is a similar scent without that aspect. If you like Chrome Legend, you'll like this too, as I find it superior to ACL. For a safe summer scent, this is pretty good stuff. It succeeds in having decent sillage and longevity. It's weakness- not very original or mind blowing, but it is a quality scent. Dunhill Desire Silver is a nice EDT and can be purchased quite inexpensively. Definitely worth looking at. It's woodier/warmer than most other aquatics I've tried. Really nice scent.

Love the silver bottle and flip top cap. Smells Amazing! I bought the Red Desire, but the Silver is Top of the Line. Picked this up TJ Maxx after Christmas for only $12 for the 3.4oz! Very Pleasing!

Excellent scent by dunhill again! Not big hype around it's for gentleman only! Fresh and spicy i love it! Bravo

Alfred Dunhill Desire Silver EDT opens with a moderate projection of citrus, aquatic, and smoky notes. The opening is fresh, mild, versatile, and pleasant. The bergamot, water notes, violet leaf, and birch are the opening most noticeable notes. The bergamot, violet leaf, and watery notes combine themselves, creating a unique accord; the bergamot's citrusy notes enhance the fresh, ozonic, green vegetable, breezy cucumber-like nuances of the violet leaf. The water notes come as part of the violet leaf, a scent evocative of freshwater mist carried out by the wind. The birch is one step behind, a woody, smoky, with a leather-like nuance. The rest of the notes follow back, but without any significant participation, the cardamom and vetiver are faint spicy and green enhancing touches. The amber makes the fragrance feel dry, but just that. The fragrance has a noticeable opening to dry down change; the opening is very citrusy, fresh, sour, the bergamot and mandarin orange introduce the fragrance, but they will soon recede towards the back, letting the water notes, violet leaf, and birch take the place of the featured notes. The vetiver will come and contribute with a fresh aromatic touch, this replacing the initial citrusy accord. Once Alfred Dunhill Desire Silver EDT has reached its full dry down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, ozonic violet leaf, aquatic, smoky birch, and green vetiver fragrance with spicy accords. The fragrance feels airy, aquatic, aldehydic, breezy, clean, delicate, dry, elegant, fresh, gentle, intimate, inviting, mild, moderate-quality, modern, natural, nicely-blended, office-ready, ozonic, slightly powdery, relaxing, sour, unisex, versatile, and pleasant.
