Labyrinth of Spices

Coming across reviews here I had to add to and repost as this is just an astonishing spice perfume without par. Some comments (thankfully) below reflect the unique nature of this perfume. Whilst it’s a largely linear perfume and a number of the ingredients ‘dance’ around bouncing back and forth the whole time which is what makes this such an olfactory journey. Accurately quoted below the reality is to fully enjoy the experience you likely have to skip a shower for one day LOL! Truly! Remarkably similar to Spice Bazaar though lacking the citrus punch - it’s also ALOT stronger. Oily, syrupy, powdery, sharp, dark and piquant from beginning to end 18 hours later - very linear. A beautiful smooth blend of all the spice notes - maybe the anise/vetiver giving a sharp clean brightness on top so as you don’t think someone has spilled a pan of prepared spiced cooking oil on you, the anise a touch more noticeable nose to skin as well as smudge of lavender - all the while a beautiful bright sweetness dances around (the cinnamon and bright pineapple) making you want to smell/lick it also making it gourmand. Fresh yet warming. Wearable anytime of the year or any occasion. Received many compliments. I don’t like Spice Scents and just when Spice Bazaar converted me this utterly whammied me. Straight to the top shelf you go!

Labyrinth of Spices by Alghabra Parfums is, without a doubt, my favorite offering from the house. True to its name, it is a labyrinth of spices, taking you on an immersive journey through the Grand Bazaar, where exotic aromas blend harmoniously in the air. The opening is a masterful and unique fusion of pineapple and coffee, an unexpected yet beautifully executed pairing that immediately sets the stage. As the fragrance unfolds, it deepens into a rich tapestry of spices—cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, and cloves, evoking the warmth and mystery of an old-world spice market. Lavender provides balance, preventing the heart from becoming overwhelmingly spicy, adding a refreshing counterpoint to the composition. As the fragrance settles, woods, musk, and vetiver form a solid and grounding base, while amber, tonka bean, and labdanum remain present throughout, enriching the scent with depth and complexity. Being an extrait de parfum, Labyrinth of Spices offers outstanding longevity and projection, making it a truly remarkable creation. Even if you are not typically drawn to spicy fragrances, I highly encourage you to experience this one—it is nothing short of breathtaking. Rating: 5/5

Got a sample of this and currently wearing it. I am not sure how I feel about this, but I do appreciate it. It is indeed everything about Spices. It tickled my nose when I first took a whiff off of my arm. I am about 10 minutes into the wear and it has mellowed down, but I can tell it still is producing quite nicely. It's a decent fragrance... it's a like for me and not a love. I don't see me reaching for this very much, but there is something rather intriguing to this that I'm enjoying. Will have to wait and see how this plays out! I don't have anything like this in my collection, so there is something I may be looking for a deal on. UPDATED: It kept lasting and I kept sniffing myself... Carried on for a long time. Waited a month and kept thinking about the spices of this fragrance... had to track down a bottle!

Labyrinth of Spices, inspired by the Grand Bazaar, is another stunning offering from Alghabra. The long list of notes blends in a way that makes it challenging to pick out individual notes, though I find myself sniffing my wrist incessantly trying to figure it out. One can imagine walking past well-stocked spice vendors in a busy bazaar, the air laden with a melange of amazing scents. This is a unique fragrance; It smells absolutely nothing like anything else in my collection, in the best way. Like other Alghabra fragrances I have tried, the performance is fantastic. Some people think it leans masculine; I think it is completely unisex.

The name and the notes of this is so divisive! Or either they are blended to perfectly to brings this effect. I get a very soapy, musky, powdery start which i love, then becomes a velvety spicy ambery beauty. It reminds me of satin oud by mfk and 40 knots by xerjoff, I'm not saying they smell similar, but they've got a similar effect on how the notes are being spread. Edit. I'm getting lots of rose jam even tho it is not listed as a note.

finishing my first bottle, and i really am fond of this blend. i get a woody almost incense like strength that flirts with fruity sweet undercurrents. the wood lies on a satin pillow, sexy decadence. although it does not conjure the instanbul spice market for me, it is definitely turkish perfumery. it reminds me of, but it is not that similar to many niche turkish fragrances. i am a big nishane and pekjif fan.

This is a very well blended mix of spices, its very creamy and sexy, towards the dry down it smells a bit leathery on my skin and then soapy and very clean, overall a great fragrance for spice lovers. It lasts a long time and has great sillage throughout.

#1001 in my "Tour de Fragrance' Well, this is certainly a "Labyrinth of Spices." Usually these "everything including the kitchen sink" fragrances are kind of indistinct and mild performers. Not this stuff. Good longevity and sillage. I was surprised the clove, anise and cinnamon don't overpower the entire experience, though they definitely do dominate in the opening. But after a bit you pick up the coffee and tobacco. Dries down to mostly woodiness. All very masculine. The scents I've experienced that come off like this are Tiziana Tirenzi "Arrakis", a spicy scent named for the main planet in Frank Herbert's "Dune" where the factions do battle over the life-extending and mind-expanding "spice", and Mancera "Red Tobacco Intense." I prefer Arrakis to this, and Mancera Red Tobacco Intense to Arrakis. And given the price of this Alghabra and the Tiziana Tirenzi scents, I'd recommend you skip past both and get Red Tobacco Intense if you don't already own it. Similar note profile at less than half the price. If you already have the Mancera, this will add nothing to your scent palette. But this is classy business wear, even formal wear, date wear if she's looking for the second husband, and probably not a fragrance young guys will gravitate toward, but who knows. In any case, given the price tag, get a decant from Scent Split or Fragrances Lines before you spend this kind of money.

Ambery Liquor. Warm, powdery amber and fresh yet warm spicy accord of cinnamon and cardamom. Very ambery, it almost smells like rum and cinnamon. The combination of cinnamon (warm) & cardamom (fresh) gives it this almost-paradoxal warm/fresh spices accord. It has a mild but noticeable kulfi-like sweetness, that's it probably form the sandalwood's creaminess. While makes it unique, it takes away for the scent for the non-gourmand lovers. Warm, fresh, spicy, ambery, rummy, slightly sweet, kulfi-esque. If you know what Turkish coffee tastes like, you sure know that this has none of that smell/taste. Masculine, cool weather wear. This opens with a kaleidoscope of sweet and piquante spices supported by a smokey amber resembling burnt sugar. Soon the tobacco emerges amidst dusty sandalwood and coffee. There is a prominent rose note in the heart due to the interplay of the tobacco with fruity notes and palpable ambergris. In the later stages, you exit the labyrinth of spices and enter a coffee market redolent of roasted beans in open bulging bags. This is a superior coffee perfume for the connoisseur. Quality: 10/10 Personality: cosy, aesthete Sillage: 6+ feet Longevity: 12+ hours

This is such an unique scent. Opens up with a blast of spices, including clove. Dries down to a very smooth and creamy sandalwood, spicy, slightly powdery scent with a touch of coffee in the back. Very well balanced scent. Longevity is 8+ hours. Worth sampling if you want something special in your collection.

One of the longest lasting fragrances ever 24 hours plus. To me it's like a Initio's Blessed Baraka after the dry down. This I find interesting, because their fragrance Eye of Seven hills smells just like Initio's Side effect.

Likeable. Approachable. Warm yet fresh spices. Dry aromatic woods with a TON of musk and javanol on drydown. I really dislike the traditional amber accord (a la Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan), but here, I smell labdanum instead.

Am I the only one suffocating from the rose accord ?! I like it but it’s very hard to pull that one off !

There's a little sharpness from the spices upon first spray, but it calms down fast and you're left with a slightly spicy melange sitting atop coffee bean, lavender and tobacco. There's a little zing from the pineapple but it's really not all that present. There's a sweetness under it all that is a little anise-y, but not overly so. I agree with others that the tobacco is a little overbearing and smothers some of the spice. There's none of the terpene zing from the cardamom or nutmeg here. Even the cinnamon and clove are muted. The name of this fragrance does not really reflect what you get. The drydown is a soft, pleasant woodsy amber. Quite unisex due to the anise and tonka bean. Suitable for cold weather. I gave this a full wearing and while it's certainly pleasant smelling, it's nowhere near as interesting as other offerings from this house. I'm fairly underwhelmed.

I'd been eager to try this, and initially I was so blown away when I first sprayed some out of my little tester vial that I immediately rated it Love. Within about 45 minutes I was coming to my senses, however reluctantly and finally moved it over to a weak ok. There's just way too much tobacco in this. It's not a great tobacco scent either. And it's no top note; it just overtakes everything for the first 3 hours. Beats the nutmeg and cardamon to death; they might as well not even be there. I'd like a scent with all the other notes but no tobacco.

I can not believe I’m saying this but it has to be said; I regret blind buying this one, I love eye of seven hills and king of flowers but this one is too spicy for my taste, and now I’m never blind buying fragrances 😭 Which is a good thing where less money will go with the wind 💸 😌

Is it just me, or is there an intense pickle juice character to this? Both in the opening and at dry down, I smell a powdery pickle juice character. Not necessarily a bad thing if that's your jam, but I would definitely not recommend blind buying this one.

This fragrance is much too much of too many things. It is the equivalent of a Christmas tree with 300 ornaments, a B&B suite where the bed has 20 decorative pillows, a woman who overdosed on statement jewelry. That cacaphony goes on for at least an hour and finally settles a little. Once it does I will say it’s mostly a vetiver wood and oakmoss thing. But it’s unpleasant when the spices fruit and coffee are duking it out. Do not blind buy this! To avoid dissing alghabra too much I will highly recommend Istanbul’s Soul. Lovely scent.
