Ottoman Treasure

#1110 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is another great oriental scent from Alghabra, and I very much appreciate that they didn't ruin it with a rose note. There are a bunch of oud scents I could compare this to, but it has a really sweet component in the gurjan balsam that reminds me of PDM "Haltane", Paco Rabanne "1 Million Golden Oud," and the Amouage "Jubilation" scents. I don't wear the Jubilations as often as I might because the fragrances are so complex as to be a bit overwhelming for my sense of smell. With this, though amber and frankincense dominate, I can pick out the other notes easily, and I like that. Like with Jubilation, this is one you have to use sparingly or it'll be too much. I probably wouldn't wear this in tight spaces, leastwise no more than a spritz, as it's potent in longevity and projection. It's pricey, so try a decant before you buy it, and if you like the style and not the price, I'd give some of the clones a try, like Al Haramain "Detour Eco", Lattafa "Bada'ee Oud for Glory", Afnan "Supremacy in Oud."

Yes, Ottoman Treasure by Alghabra Parfums smells like Oud for Greatness, but better. The Oud is rounded out, not as scratchy and synthetic feeling, in fact the perfume just feels smooth and refined. I also feel like OT is more complex, yet easier to wear than OfG. There is a small touch of animalic skank hiding in there, and it reminds me of the dirty patchouli found in vintage Angel, but overall I don't find this fragrance more challenging than the average oud fragrance out there. Performance is excellent--better than OfG. I own a travel size of OfG, but would consider investing in a full bottle of OT. OT is just a better perfume, and honestly, more affordable.

Reminds me of steam room. Has a minty earthy feel. Very relaxing scent I like it .

I am currently wearing this while I write this review, and this is very close to Initios Oud for Greatness. Earthy tones with a sweet BR540 undertone. No real challenging oud wood is detectable more like a darker wood labled as oud. I enjoy this fragrance as I was given a free sample with a purchase from fragrancebuy.ca, but I would steer buyers towards PDM Haltane or Initio Oud for greatness as they have the same smell but can be found on discounters for 90ml or 125ml for the price of Alghbras 50ml. Overall a good-smelling and versatile fragrance for winter and fall months. I wouldn't purchase this fragrance as it feels like a blatant clone of a good fragrance, and then you are paying more for less fragrance, although there are some slight differences and I think the fragrance smells very good and performs great. This is WAAAY too farm animal for me. And I don't understand it any better than you do if you consider the notes that are here. I'm sorry about it but it's a real hard pass. And I hate to diss a perfumer if I can also give a compliment so the flip side is that Alghabra King of Flowers is a joy. And really not very flowery at all. Check that one out instead...
