I have to admit: I had to completely rewrite my comment, my first impression was not doing it justice. I tested Sidra Wood again at the Paris Al Jazeera boutique a few days ago and ended up buying a bottle. Sidra Wood is unmistakably Quentin Bisch‘s work. I will try to describe certain elements, hopefully conveying the resulting smell to you. The first thing that hit me is a slightly fruity, spiced ambroxan-leather accord that is reminiscent of B683. That familiar, yet stunning accord is grounded by labdanum and slight vetiver. Piercing through everything and filling the fragrance with light is our beloved: Akigalawood. ;) Akigalawood lends Sidra Wood it‘s typical sparkle and a unmistakable texture. All of the other notes, like rose, vanilla and cashmeran are mostly nuances. Sidra Wood is complex, finding it‘s place somewhere between woody, leathery, fruity, light and darkness. Quite a mesmerising experience. Feels modern and powerful, do test it out!
