Autumnalis

Interesting scent. When I smelled it without seeing the notes and the description, it did not remind me of a forest, but I thought about an autumn landscape after rain. And yes, it can be an autumn forest scent with dried leaves everywhere, but not in full sunlight, rather a colder autumn day after a big rain.

Crisp, dry woody notes with a sweet, almost syrup like dry down from the maple. It is very clearly unisex (though I don't believe fragrances have 'genders' anyway) - not too sweet or spicy. Perfect for autumn when the weather is bright but cold and crisp, with the first hints of frost on the air.

Ambery, leafy, sweet, and a little bit foresty. Definitely makes me think of Fall. A daily wear pick for my Fall seasonal rotation.

Pretty much like Feuillemort - less green, more sweet with amber, but the same general mood.

unisex, herbal‐green, cool‐earthy. Not my preference but fine.

To me, this starts out smelling exactly like a candle called 'Autumn Breeze' or something along those lines would smell. It's not at all unpleasant. I can smell a faint whiff of mushrooms, a lot of dry leaves, a little maple, a little saffron, and a lot of moss. It gets sweeter as time goes on, and I can smell the amber note alongside the sweetening maple. It smells less candle-like at this point. Oddly, the mushroom note (raw mushrooms, to be specific, not cooked ones) increases alongside the sweet elements, which is nice. Initially, I thought this was not something I would wear, because I am not a candle. Based on the dry-down, I'd say that's less of an issue; however, it does run a bit sweet for me. I think this could work for a special occasion, maybe celebrating the first day of autumn - or, if you like sweeter scents, could work well at any time during the season. I tried combining this with an oud-based oil, Bakhoor Khas, to see if that would offset the sweetness. While it succeeded in that, unfortunately it made Autumnalis return to its candle-like roots, so all things considered I think it's best to wear this one on its own, sweetness and all.

I got it as a blind buy but (besides good) they are not my kind of perfume.

Instant love for me. Amber..earthy..greenish fern musk...a touch of maple effect,forest-y...the birch tar adds a tad of camphor and balsamic....oakmoss/saffron. I have a sample, but will buy a full bottle or rollerball for sure !!! Moderate longevity/projection.
