Caveau des Innocents

This little fragrant gem is amazing! It has cannibals as a note, which was the reason why I purchased it. It's smoky, sweet, spicy, resinous, woody, and boozy (Wow!). Such a cornucopia of notes that harmonizes well together. It also can be worn both day and night, not to mention that it's multi-seasonal, but it's best worn during the autumn months. Definitely one of my new favorites! But don't take my word for it. Check it out for yourself!

Love this perfumer and many of her perfumes. This particular scent starts out coffee, rum and anise on me....even hubby called those out :) The caramel and vanilla quickly head in a chocolate direction and then it's just an altogether yummy melange of smells. Fantastic! I only wish it stayed powerful for longer.

This smells EXACTLY like bsissa. If you've never been to north africa you won't know what this is. Bsisa is a typical Egyptian food, based on flour of roasted barley, which dates back to Pharos times. Usually you hydrate the barley powder with water, and this perfume smells exactly like that. It was so weird when I first opened up the bottle cus it smelled so distinctly like something I'd smelled before. I haven't smelled Bsissa in over 10 years, so I completely forgot about it, but once I remembered I got 100% sure that this was it.

You truly have to let this one sit for a WHILE before you apply it. But, I thought it was worth the wait. I expected to smell more caramel, coffee, and pear, but I was let down. With my skin chemistry, Caveau des Innocents smelled more like maple syrup, redwood, and rum, which wasn't bad. Like stated, I was definitely fooled by the notes on the website not aligning with with what I smelled, but it wasn't a bad experience. (PS. this is VERY strong.)

I have fallen in love with this perfume oil designer. She's brilliant! Caveau des Innocents is a luscious hit dominated by coffee, incense and pipe tobacco. It made me swoon with just one small application. Rich and velvety, long-lasting, best for fall, unisex, but maybe more feminine than masculine. Only one problems: it doesn't last long on me, two hours, or so, no matter how much I apply.
