Cidre d' Automne

A perfect fall scent. Smells like an apple pie before you put it in the oven: crisp Granny Smith apples with a strong whiff of spices, but not cloying or overly sweet. My only complaint is that the longevity from the sample size is not great. I often layer this with The Magpie's Rhyme and it is a heavenly combination! One of my favorite scents from Alkemia.

Fresh apples complete with skin and a bit of spice. The apple note is so realistic! This scent is not super sweet or gourmand, it's more fruity and fresh. To me it smells kind of green, like you can smell the apple stems. I love that this is an autumn apple scent that doesn't smell lie pie or a candle.

If you want smell like Bath and Body Work's Heirloom Apple candle, get this fragrance (I mean this in a good way). It's pure apple, no candy-like notes. Almost like apple incense because of the spiciness in it. I really love this and need a full bottle.

To me this has a metallic note, so instead of hot wassail I'm getting cold hard cider from a can out of the ice chest. I tried it in November but I think I might like it in summer too.

Smells exactly like the Bath and Body Works "Leaves" candle. I like the candle and this is not a bad scent either. I like it for fall but definitely not Alkemia's best.

Smells just like freshly picked, crisp apples! A bit sour and earthy, not too sweet. There is a hint of spice, but this is not a typical autumnal pumpkin spice/apple pie scent, which I appreciate. It's fresh enough to wear during spring and summer as well. EDIT: This used to be one of my big favourites, but I have kinda changed my mind about it. I used to like the simplicity, because it's basically a single note perfume. Part of the problem was how strong it is! 1-2 drops is enough. If I over apply, it is a bit cloying. I do still use this oil to fragrance my DIY body products. That way I can dilute it and mix with other oils. Lemongrass essential oil compliments it very well.

smells exactly like walking into a craft store or a yankee candle and honestly i love it, i love that scent. it’s nostalgic to me so i dont mind that scent. it falls right into my preferences of sweet smelling gourmands i would love to walk around smelling like this. sweet autumnal apples and yummy spices, i really couldnt ask for more.

I ordered a sample set from Alchemia, and they all start off smelling like candles and/or public bathroom air freshener, but this one stays smelling like a candle. Specifically, apple cider. It's not bad, but just straight-up apple cider candle.

It's a nice apple scent, but the spices are still a bit much for me and it ventures into candle territory. For a beautiful green apple scent that is much lighter on the spices I'd recommend Sixteen92's 'Last Exit for the Lost'.

very realistic but unfortunately strays a bit into the candle/room spray territory for me. spicy perfumes also aren't really my thing, but to someone who loves typical autumn scents, this would be fun!

This is the most realistic apple scent I've tried. I love apple scents but it's hard to get one that doesn't smell like candy or a candle. This one smells fresh, tart and crisp, with a bit of cinnamon. It really does remind me of a mug of lightly mulled cider. The spice scent isn't too noticeable straight out of the bottle but you can definitely pick it up on your skin. Other apples I have tried are DKNY, Nina Ricci, Zoologist Panda and Solstice Scents Cellar. I would also recommend Panda, but it's more complex and apple is not the star in that one. If you want a more linear, realistic apple I would go with Cidre D'Autumne. The only downside is the sillage and longevity are mild. *Edit* I put on a a healthy dab of this today and a fruit fly would not leave me alone!

Does it smell like apple cider?: Yes Does it smell like anything else? No This scent is exactly what it says it is and does its job really well. If you love the smell of apple cider and want nothing more than to smell like it, this is your perfume. While it can be worn on its own, I agree with what others say about it being a little basic in the same way an apple candle can be. Nothing wrong with that, but if you want some depth and this can be a really fun perfume to experiment with as a layering note. I'm an Alkemia fan so I've worn it with Trick or Treat, Bronze and Blaze, and Porta Alchemica and have enjoyed all of these combinations. Can be worn on its own, but shines brightly when paired with other gormand, spicy or even woody scents.

Fresh bushels of apples is one of the pleasures of fall, the apple note in Cidre d'Automne so vivid it will make your mouth water. It has a faint bite, reminiscent of the fall cider in its name, with a tiny hint of cinnamon. There's a lovely minor supporting accord that promises colder temperatures and maybe smoke on the wind. The ingredients are all natural, never devolving into bargain potpourri-land as many apple scents do. This is harvest season bounty, and the apple its luscious temptation. For those days when chill winds excite something wild and you want to experience the season of the witch!

Ok, seriously? This is Apple Picking on the East End of Long Island in October, with a chill in the air, drinking spiced cider, in your flannel shirt and uggs....in a bottle! Once again I feel like Sharra captures the essence and vibe of a month, a season, an outing, an occasion....you name it, and is able to bottle it up in a neat little package. If you are looking for a fresh scent to usher in the season, this one is it!

A bountiful harvest of apples freshly pressed yielding a golden cider. Expertly blended with autumnal spices creating a mouthwatering mulled cider. The epitome of fall. I adore this fragrance individually or layered with Pumpkin Strumpet (this combination smells just like freshly baked apple pie)!

Smells like synthetic candle/ glade plug in and not something you should put on your skin. Sharp/metallic and so linear that the apple cider is the only note there is - no complexity or spices or anything to balance it. A much better alternative is OilPerfumery dupe of Kilian Apple Brandy 0/5

Smells like you're wearing a Glade plug-in apple-cinnamon air freshener. Maybe a pinch less cloying, with more of an apple skin/peel note... but very much the same as an apple-cinnamon air freshener.

A very realistic mulled cider fragrance. heavy on the fresh, crisp apple note. I love it. It really lifts my spirits and sets a mood.
