Deadly Nightshade

I have fallen head over heels in love with Deadly Nightshade! I love violet, iris, suede! I love the lipstick note. This is so sexy! When i first got this i opened it right away and didn't let it sit because i was to excited and inpatient. It was beautiful from the first test and smelled like a waxy iris with that lipstick accord and pretty one dimensional. It reminded me of Creed love in black (another favorite of mine). Now it's only been a few days that I've been letting it sit and i decided i was craving violet and put some on. Now it's even better! As soon as it touched my skin there was a strong beautiful suede note! Almost like i can smell the brown color and feel the velvety touch! Then the violet comes out and a rooty iris. There's a touch of vanilla and a saltiness from the ambergris! As it dries down it becomes anamalitic from the mix of suede and ambergris! It smells like shalimar P.I and Creed love in black have a cousin who everyone knows is a bad girl! This is georgeous! Sillage is actually an arms length on my skin and longevity is about 4 hours. Im happy to re apply! So feminine, so sexy, seductive, dark and mysterious!

This is my first time wearing an Alkemia perfume and I am impressed at the quality. Given it was a oil rollerball, I was expecting a standard head shop hippie oil. The smell is really different but also pleasant! To me, these smell like Choward's Violet Mints!! This perfume reminds me of a memory I have where my friend kept giving me these mints for my dry mouth at the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia while we were looking at medical oddities together. It also reminds me of LouLou by Cacharel but a little less complex (which isn't a bad thing by the way!). It's such a shame that it's going to be retired soon as it is on sale on Alkemia's site. I think I'll have to snag a full spray bottle just so I can hoard some for later!!

I was worried about this one when I opened the tester bottle and got plastic-y violet leaves. I put it on and got violets along with something I can only call new-car smell, and a powdery note that reminded me of mothballs. However, after it sat for a few minutes, the notes came together into leather. After 30 minutes it was the perfect earthy violet and suede I was hoping for. I was worried the opium and patchouli would overwhelm the floral aspect, but it blends perfectly. Highly recommend.

Wow, this one is a shape-shifter. It starts as a naturalistic violet and after an hour or so flips over to this dark thing and at the four hour mark becomes white soap and fluffy towels. It has impressive longevity for a violet based scent and I have skin that kills scent. It's a lovely light thing and would be a good office scent. This listed notes are reasonably accurate but I got more animal than leather and I did not note any opium poppy at all.

Truly a film noir seduction scent. This is the femme fatale in black that creates a hush when she enters the room. A crescendo of violets set against leather. Sweet and powdery contrasting the dominatrix within. Perhaps it has earned its name. This fragrance puts Cuir Ottoman to shame (in my book).

This smells similar to Kerbside Violet. The opening has a pungent new car smell, but after it settles - the powdery violet note comes through, it smells like violet scented lipgloss with leather and opium. Most violet perfumes I've tried are quite faint, but not this one.

I don’t know how to describe this - except that it’s so unique and i want to smell like this all the time! I am so impressed with this fragrance house in general. I have a few others to try as well but i want to buy a gallon of this oil! It’s magical and amazing.

I'm in love with these scents. This one is very femme fatale with the flowers and the earthy scents. The blend is absolutely divine!

Violet and leather is a wonderful combination, really a match made in heaven, so I always like this kind of scent when it's done well. And this one certainly is: although I agree with another reviewer on this page that the leather note might have been a little more suedy, it's nevertheless very nice and the same is true for the violet note. And this might just be me going along with the marketing, but there's something intriguing in the background that's so murky-green that it can easily be experienced as poisonous: this must be the opium note which gave this scent the lovely name Deadly Nightshade. So I like it quite a lot, but not enough to want more after sampling: I feel like I already have this combination in my collection, and although this one is really nice as well it's really not special enough to justify introducing a new variation to the theme into my closet. On top of that, I also have the usual (minor) complaint with perfume oils: underneath everything else it smells just a little...oily.

Beautiful beautiful Violet in this one , Dark and seductiv , No light and airy violets here . The opium and violet ,suade ,patch and amber gives this a unik and dark feal fro shure ,Reminds me a bit of Creed In Black ,regarding the dark violets . but its not the same . this is more grown up ( not that In black is childish ;) ..) But this has a mature vibe , This lady knows where shes going , Has been around and seen things in here life .Learned a leason or two and therfore have the visdom and knowlage of different plaises then the wearer of In black . I truly beauty , strong potent , I realy have to be in the mood to wear it or else this will wear me ..

It does smell very like Kerbside violet. I wasn't keen on the opening but it soon settles to a leathery violet. I have no idea what opium smells like. There is a sort of intense resin element to this. Everything sits on damp patch. I would have never guessed the amber gris was present. Good longevity but the usual minimum sillage.

Deadly Nightshade is dark and beguiling. Powdery violets, intoxicating opium, rich leather, and a hint of woodiness. So beautiful!

I get kind of a spicy violet, like old school violet gum. It's not bad. I like it, but I was hoping for more complexity and more leather.

This is one gorgeous perfume Noir. Juicy, jam-y, dark floral with dark suede. Just one little thing kills it for me. The suede note is more like a leather note of the leather seats in a new car with burnt plastic undertone. That burnt thing is present all the way, and such a shame because it adds a bit of bitterness that I can't get pass through. Otherwise, who doesn't mind it this juice is truly gorgeous in the vain of "vintage Dior Poison extract" , not the same but you get the comparison.

Stunning. A Femme Fatale scent. Intoxicating. It reminds me of a scene in Penny Dreadful where Vanessa is looking at a deadly nightshade with Dorian Grey; while marveling at the flower's beauty, she asks him if it's poisonous and he replies, "Like all beautiful things, I hope so."

Goth dark purple velvet! My first Alkemia sample! Gorgeous and.................... AFFORDABLE !! If you love LUSH's Kerbside Violet you will LOVE this and it's even cheaper ! Blind buy ? YES !!!!!!!!!!!

Mixed well, it is sweeter than what I usually go for, but has an earthy end. It is a good every day scent.
