Farkas

I gave this another sniff after having it for a few years. I absolutely hated it when I received it, but perhaps the notes have blended together better over time?? It still isn't my favourite fragrance, but I like it a lot better. It's leather and animalic and a little powdery with tobacco notes. It's definitely a cold weather perfume.

I was super disappointed, as I was certain that this would be a smash hit for me--my two favorite notes, leather and musk, in one scent? Sign me right up, I thought. Like @everil.f, I hated my little 5 mL vial upon first receiving it. I sampled it a few different times, trying to give it a chance, but ultimately it just wasn't for me. I can't even really put into words what exactly it was that I so strongly disliked about it, but every time I tried it on my skin, I had to scrub it off shortly afterwards. Word to the wise: always, always, ALWAYS sample first from Alkemia. They have a wonderful Make Your Own Sample Kit that allows you to try out scent for quite a bit cheaper (~$3 for a tiny vial vs. $18 for 5 mL that you may or may not like). I ended up giving it away in a recent swap. I hope my swap partner enjoys it more than I did.

This oil is pure, intense, fresh from the department store leather on me, with a bit of spiciness that is almost reminiscent of Christmas to my nose. My boyfriend told me the smell reminds him of Target, and another friend said it smells like an airport lounge. I think Alkemia's The Raven (where the leather is very well balanced with the other notes) is closer to what I was hoping for from Farkas. Not my favorite, but it's not bad to have for layering.

I swear i smell pine. At first swip the very first word that came out of my mouth was oh spooky. It smelled spooky to me, like a forest at night. I don't know why I'm getting pine but it's definatly here. After 5 minutes have passed it smells cold. It smells like i was standing outside on a cement sidewalk in the cold wearing a leather bomber jacket. Very unique smelling. You remember the leather bomber jackets from the late 80's early 90's , that's what this smells like to me. It gets muskier as time passes and the pine note fades away. It ends as a musky skin scent. It is a clean, cold, leathery, musky, pine.

Like a Ferarri! The one with the leather exterior! LOL! This is one of the best expensive smelling leather scents I've enjoyed! It conveys a feeling of power and speed! Earthy, smooth aroma, like opening that killer leather handbag and sniffing the inside! Almost a damp earth smell, a little resinous with just the right amount of musk. It's organic and natural, and very sexy. Good sillage and longevity. I need a ton of this - I want to scent me, my car, my leather jeans . . .
