Silver Haze

Glamorous, sensual and just the right amount of sweet. Trashy, in the best way possible. If a sweaty Barbie went clubbing in the 80s a joint in hand, a cheap strawberry daiquiri in the other. She takes a break from dancing to go overspray a red berries perfume mist in the girls bathroom. She carries a pink leather bag that she’s gonna lose later in the night. She doesn’t care. It opens with a spark of berries; a vibrant juicy strawberry that quickly makes room for a candied tart blackberry. They are quickly joined by cannabis and saffron notes that add a smokey depth to it that together with pink pepper somehow remind me of a vintage leathery couch. Sweet, soft, spicy, powdery. Perfectly balanced. It lasts forever and projects amazingly (one spray filled my entire room and i still could smell it from my bathroom. and that was not unpleasant at all...). Suitable for both summer and winter; it’s cold yet a sense of warmth emanates from it. I agree with the plastic-ish scent feeling some reviewers got in the dry down; it reminds me a lot of a strawberry scented shortcake pony doll i owned as a child. A mix of nostalgia and modernity.

More than anything, I love an evocative scent— something that is crafted with a vision and executed in a way that conjures that vision in all five senses. It transports you somewhere else and implants a memory that is not your own (or, in this case, maybe it is my own...) Anyway, this is why I love Alloy Studio and it’s why Silver Haze has had a chokehold on me all summer. This fragrance delivers exactly what it describes— a blast of synthetic strawberry that covers something more complex and interesting. The longer you sit with it, the more you uncover (cannabis, chocolate candy wrappers, the slightly cloying interior of an old car). It’s bizarre, uncomfortable, and even overpowering at first, but eventually becomes nostalgic and beautiful in a deliberately-not-beautiful way.. just like all of those backroads drives with your friends as a teen. It’s a niche fragrance for niche people. If you’re strange enough to even think you want to smell like a backseat smoke sesh doused in body spray, then you are strange enough to like this.

syrupy berries, pungent weed, dark chocolate, and the metallic-leathery smell of a new car. the description is so appropriate and the smell is so evocative, it smells like leaving the bar on a rainy night to smoke a blunt and make out in a fem’s car. she’s got a bunch of pink sanrio plushies and stickers in there and she uses strawberry body spray, and she’s wearing a cheap necklace that smells metallic on her neck as she sweats it off. it does have a certain medicinal quality to it at first but it’s not a deal breaker. reminds me of my ex but i might have to buy the full size so i can make new memories with it

Absolute favorite. Its almost hard to describe as I have never smelled anything like this. Very sweet on the opening - so if you do not like sweet fragrances this is not for you. The berries and saffron immediately hits you as you initially spray, then after a couple of minutes it chills out a bit as the pink pepper shines. The dry down is where this shines for me. The cannabis makes a haxy entrance where everything starts to blend and almost has a metallic feel. This perfume is very long lasting to the point that I can smell it on my clothes the next day. This will forever be in my rotation

At first I was a little turned off at the plasticky, lipstick smell in the beginning. It didn't smell cheap or anything just literally like a lipstick at the bottom of your purse on me personally but once it settled a bit the sweetness came out and it settled into something I really enjoyed. On my skin I didn't get any of the cannabis though. I think it's very unique and sexy and definitely lasted super long of my skin in the cold. It's giving if Burberry Her was a stripper in the 90's and only went to the VIP with people who had Amex Black Cards.

So sad I discovered this at the end of the warm season :(. I love it so much. It's got a youthful sweetness like strawberry chapstick, but it's light and airy and anything but cloying. I don't feel like it's one you can overspray. I lovvvve the cannabis note in it and feel as though it adds necessary depth to the otherwise head-in-the-clouds sweetness. I don't think I can put into words how much I love this scent, and it's hard for me to like scents right off the bat. The whole discovery collection of Alloy Studio is worth your time.

I've been waiting so long for this to show up on frag so I could finally review it ^.^ Among the dozens of plasticky-strawberry-dollhead-lipstick at the bottom of your purse, nostalgic scents out there, this one takes the cake. It's a little green, sweet but not medicinal or sickly, powdery and waxy but doesn't smell like a dollar store candle. Not ladylike, not skanky, but a secret third thing..

Fruity musky and sexy 🙂↕️ the weed bud and metallic notes makes it not like anything I’ve smelled before and I got compliments on it which is a bigger plus. Dries down cozier than the opening with the woody musks and I love that it has its loud moments that quietens into something understated and still moving. Yall did your big one and I can’t wait to see more releases

I went to a perfume store asking to smell like a sexy robot, and this is what they gave me. I love it! Metallic but with the distinct fruit overscent. It smells like someone dropped a strawberry car freshener into a 30 year old overheating PC, or like my parents' desktop computer had a night out on the town. Plastic, metallic, and artificial in the best way.

strawberry shortcake all grown up. the trail left from a party girl’s irish goodbye. your girlfriend’s lived-in hoodie. edible residue. cherry car fresheners dangling from the front-view mirror. finding another bitch’s ponytail in the passenger seat when you buzz your hair every two weeks...

what started my fragrance collecting journey was trying to find a scent that smells like a strawberry shortcake doll. this is her! luv it

Smells like a hotboxed car with your friends, lipgloss, and strawberry body spray. So good.

PAPER TEST ONLY: The initial spray and dry down read differently to my nose. I immediately got a waft of high-end cannabis, a yummy strawberry body spray, and a pleasant unrecognizable sweetness. In the dry down, the strawberry note morphs into a potent strawberry car freshener hanging from the rear view mirror combined with a silky orris. Those lovely notes lead into a mini chocolate chip and dried raspberry snack mix. All throughout the middle and base the high-end cannabis note remains. I recall one of the perfumers of Alloy saying that the team was inspired by hot boxing a car. I can totally see that, and that description puts Silver Haze’s story-telling into sharper focus. There’s a carefree and youthful air to Silver Haze. My favorite note in SH is the orris. It’s really beautifully done. I dig Silver Haze. While it’s my least favorite of the discovery set, I still really like it because each 4 scents are expertly executed and creatively born. Silver Haze has changed any bias I had against cannabis notes in perfume. Of the 4, Silver Haze is the most fruity and summery. HYPNOTIC NECTAR PAPER STRIP TEST ONLY: If you, or your loved ones, ever worked roots, this scent will be rapidly recognizable: this smells like Florida Water made into an EDP. Upon first spray, I was quickly hit with a melange of familiar herbs. The rosemary and basil are at the top and are clean. I like the soil note; it reminds me of cutting the herbs in my garden, and I got dirt under my fingernails in the process. There’s a story-telling component to HN that’s deeply connected to spirituality, and I find that exquisite. Despite the soil and elemi (not known to be mass-appealing even if I love them), the aromatics keep Hypnotic Nectar light enough for everyday wear. I think this scent would thrive in spring, summer and on warm fall days. Mimosa & ylang ylang give HN a delicate floral quality while rounding out both the aromatics and the earthiness. Big fan of this!

As man who grew up with sisters, I knew this scent very well. It's the smell of kids make-up kits. The smell is of scented make up marketed towards pre-teens. It is made more mature and well round with supporting notes. It smells of strawberry scented lipstick. The strawberry and blackberry accord reminiscent of "berry flavoring" not photorealistic. The Iris is rich and powdery in vein of lipstick. The cannabis note is more earthy then "dank". Supportive like the rest of the accords. The scent profile for this is polarizing. It's either gonna strike a very nostalgic accord or smell cheap and slightly "trashy". I suspect that was the point. The perfumer executed the story as well as usability of this beautifully. Good but not invasive push and good longevity. For me it put huge smile on my face and had me message my sisters. Had us telling story of our youth for s few days. I personally probably wont wear it. One of my sisters after smelling a sample did immediately bought a bottle.

This is an amazing scent, I really love the metallic note. Its honestly addicting to me. I’m an early 30s woman with a corporate job but I do partake in a daily evening session. This scent smells like I just got back from a date where I was hugging my date a lot and he had some cologne on that smelled metallic and we smoked in the car before he dropped me off. So the smell of him and the smoke mixed with my perfume in the best way. Like if you wore your boyfriends hoodie and he smokes, but its not juvenile or offensive. The cannabis note is subtle, like unless you smoke you wouldn’t recognize it, but if you do and the wind blew you’d be like hmmm somebody here has been smoking. Like a strawberry swisher sweet but less heavy and add a metallic human smell. This is a perfume I’ve never come across, not even anything similar. I feel like you either get it or you don’t, you love it or you don’t.

While I wouldn't wear this scent, I love the story and environment that it's meant to evoke. I find it v e r y powdery, with hints of white soap and white wisps of smoke. It's metallic, gently sweet with raspberry, and a bit plasticky or leathery.

Oh dear, I don't like this one bit. Funky-dank plastic strawberry dusted in metallic dust and enough pepper to make you sneeze. It smells like the end result of trying to clean up a scented plastic doll that got left in a metal vat of weird chemical byproduct for a few weeks, but you just can't get it to stop smelling "like that." It's certainly unique, but very offputting for me.

I wish I had never ordered this. The notes they share are different from the ones here. Fragrantica doesn’t list metallic notes - if it had I never would’ve ordered this sample. If you don’t mind metallic notes then you might find this lovely. I just can’t.

I had such high hopes due to the reviews but this was so bad. Yet, I waited, hoping it would improve. It didn’t. It only turned into a literal scrubber. You’ve been warned. Hypnotic Nectar is a bit better, but not by much.
