Autumn Leaves

This one is a beauty for spooky season! It reminds me of the way Halloween used to smell as a kid growing up in the 90's if that makes sense?? Reminds me of a fall craft shop from back in that era. It is also a man magnet. I wore this for Halloween and a couple of guys couldn't stop commenting on the scent that night.

This needs time to air out, and I say this because I really find it extremely brash initially. I don't love the rest of it either, but the beginning stage is the most unpleasant part. This smells more like Santal 33 than anything to me, though I've never actually smelled Autumn Vibes. It has a distinct pickle-y tone to it. But, in a way, this smells like earthy pickles...because there is a soil accord...or something within this. So, I do find this fascinating, because it actually does evoke an outdoorsy, dirty sensation. That being said, the combo of that along with pickles is...offputting. I do enjoy some of the Santal 33 clones, because I actually enjoy that pickle-y wood note in moderation, and occasionally; but in this fragrance it simply doesn't smell good against the earthy backdrop.

When I was a kid in the 90s, the teachers would bring out fall/Halloween crafts for us to do. The craft items had a certain cinnamon smell to them. Sure it was an artificial cinnamon smell, but it smelled good! You don't smell that same cinnamon-scent from the 90's anymore and I miss it! This smells like that. So therefore to me it smells like Autumn and Halloween from my childhood. I love it! Warm, musty and sweet---Not a typical sweet though, a very different type of sweet.

On their official site they give the following notes (from the top): - cardamom, pink pepper -nutmeg, carrot seeds, maple -moss, cedar. Well, hmmm... It's so loud, even screaming... For me it's just no, no. It's base , which is a cedar alone on me , was the most hard to tolerate. Longevity is incredible - I would describe it as eternal. But the beginning was actually promising. Disappointment.

fall october craft store potpourri smell is one of best smells on earth. sad that the bottle I got doesn't have that lovely opening. I smelled this once years ago in a marshalls and it smelled like straight up autumn and halloween. the bottle I got recently is probably old so the top notes have faded :( I need to find a fall potpourri perfume now.
