very, very similar to witl. i love it. if i had to try to describe this scent, i would definitely say its a pretty dark leaning fragrance that's also very warm at the same time. it's a little peppery but kind of faintly, very baby powdery, a little vanillaish, and just smells deliiccious. it's a PERFECT dark academia scent, so if you're into that, this would be right up your alley. it's very non-offensive tho, and i don't know if that does itself any favors. so far, i havent gotten any compliments on it, mostly just comments that i smell like powder, which.. hasnt necessarily been a bad thing? but for someone that doesnt wanna smell like a powdery peppery vanilla, don't get this

Honestly, this is a great dupe for Whispers in the Library. I’m not sure if my bottle of WITL was too old or I was scammed, but it didn’t last long at all (like, under 30 minutes). Top notes immediately disappeared and all that was left was a vaguely sweet smell. This smells exactly like the initial spray of that bottle, but the longevity is soooo much better.

There is something missing in this fragrance for me. It lacks a depth that really carries it through, so it just feels like a mediocre manly perfume.

A great alternative to Whispers in the Library. Novel is almost a complete replica of it but has a slightly more peppery touch. It is a pleasant fall fragrance. It does give the impression of being in a library or second hand bookstore with aged books around you. The vanilla gives it its sweetness without being overly sweet. Like whispers, it has a vintage feel to it. It’s not old and dirty but polished and antique. If you don’t wanna spend a ton of money on whispers (now that it’s been discontinued and there are a lot of cheap dupes) I highly recommend Novel! UPDATE: This stuff is a huge compliment getter!

I have never tried the original (MM's Whispers in the Library) since it was discontinued. But this is great in and of itself. A rich and sophisticated, slightly dusty but not sweet or gourmand vanilla, which has its place in the winter.

This is not a great or even good clone of Whispers...do NOT believe the hype, Moustache EDP smells much more like Whispers than this
