I'm a big fan of rose-oud-patchouli fragrances--it's one of my favorite DNA's, so I enjoyed this one from initial sniff. But I was also captivated by the idea behind the name- "no matter what we think as we make our way through life, love is always just round the corner, ready to woo us away. All we have to do is keep our hearts open, and love will be caressing like the petals of a rose, deep as the roots of an oak" This is a popular style (rose, oud, patchouli), but it's well done. It's beautifully gothic and dark. IMO it's in the same vein as Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud, but I find that this one is not as sweet and this has pepper as the spice instead of clove. Out of the two, I prefer this one. If you're a fan of this DNA, then this is a good one to sample. Unisex, leaning a bit more feminine IMO.

Smells like straight-up Body Shop tea rose for the first 30-60 mins, then the rose dies down and the creamy, ambery sweetness comes through, perhaps with a hint of berries? Similar vibe as Delina (not a dupe at all but same category of fragrance to me). I prefer Delina for scent and performance.
