En Fleur

My friend in the 80s used to wear Les Fleurs blue lid original. I'm not kidding when I say, they don't make perfumes like they did back then. Made for Houbigant, that perfume would be sold for hundreds of dollars these days because of the pureness of the ingredients. It was as if you were buying a piece of France in a little bottle that cost you a few dollars. It was so clean and fresh and floral but had something to it that I couldn't put my finger on. I LOVED this fragrance, (I never smelled the pink lid one listed here but Les Fleurs the original isn't listed on fragrantica). We barely had any food in the fridge so there was no way I was getting a bottle of perfume so I never got it. Now it's listed for like $40 plus dollars and who knows how awful it'll smell after it's aged a hundred years (lol) so I haven't pulled the trigger on that one, but oh I'd love to have my own bottle and see if it smells as good on me. Update, found a small bottle of Les Fleurs for $18. Of course it's gone way south (I'd prob have better luck with the sealed spray bottle) and turned into a powdery granny mess, but besides that, it's turned into a cross between Anaiis and the single note of Eglantine. (with a pile of powder poured on top : ( (wasted my money) Sad sad sad sad it's gone so bad. I'm going to try to find a bottle of En Fleur and see what that's like now. Prob waste more money.

Fragrantica has added some lesser known little beauties to the base lately and this is another. "En Fleur" was a flanker to Alyssa Ashley's "Les Fleurs", circa 1980. "Les Fleurs" was a wonderful fresh floral. It smelled like those little white clovers that bloom in spring. "En Fleur" was more of a mixed bouquet: sweeter, a little spicy(carnations predominated), more full bodied. Alyssa Ashley was an offshoot of Houbigant. It's perfumes were aimed at a younger crowd. Maybe these two were too innocent and old fashioned for the women who were reaping the benefits of the women's movement. I don't recall either setting the perfume world on fire. Both were discontinued pretty quickly but both deserve a relaunch.

I absolutely LOVED this perfume. I looked for it for years! I would buy 15 bottles if they brought it back. I have never found a fragrance like it. I received so many compliments on this perfume.

Very powdery floral with iris and musk and spice. Hard to pick out what is going on here but it is lovely.

should be a feminine and warm fragrance, but with something that seduces so walk down the street !!

Full transparency at hand, I will be review Les Fleurs Eau de Cologne today, as that is what I found hidden amongst antiquity. I understand that this is a flanker of En Fleur, but since only the latter is listed, I'll have to tandem in. I remember the two being very similar, with the bright innocence falling on the original, and the stickier, muskier notes into the one warming in my hand as I write. Past that, I don't know much more true history, but there is a wonderful review below mine marking a brief account and fun factoids by Kiku. The top of Les Fleurs is devoured by syrup notes of ylang ylang and orange blossom, all powdered-pretty by strong projections of a dusky-green violet. Perhaps the company's intention was to make this the night version of En Fleur, but who will ever know for certain. A soapy center composed of rose, lily of the valley and jasmine, do their best in scrubby clean a scent that dries down into the sultry haze of osmanthus, mimosa, spicy woods, and peppery tagets. It's sweet and clean, and delightfully sinful, but perhaps, and most importantly, it's nostalgic nature reminds us of youthful possibilities, happy memories, and the fantastical world ripe with discovery.

I use to use this fragrance in the 1980s. Everytime I ran out I use go to Duane Reade and buy another one. Everyone complimented me on how good I smelled. One day I went to purchase another and was told the didn't have it. I went to several stores and got the same response. I was so disappointed because I could never find a fragrance that met up to this fragrance. I looked for it for years and years. Low and behold I did a search today and found it. Of course I ordered a bottle. If it is still the same, I will continue buying until there is no more. There should be a relaunch of this Product! If it is marketed right it should sell.

Wow, this bottle reminds me so much of the 80s oval ETD version of Pavlova by Payot - despite the different coloring.. I have never seen it before but was browsing Alyssa Ashley perfumes after reading an article on here mentioning Ambre Gris. The image of En Feur caught may eye and I had to click to see more.

My younger sister wore this one in 1980's. I can't remember exactly what it smelled like. I just remember it smelling really good on her. The bottle brings back a lot of memories from when I was a teenager.
