Love Hibiscus

I ordered this from Nordstrom and honestly stalled on picking it up because the reviews are completely all over the place. Which I get. Fragrance is subjective. Some people say lots of caramel, others say no caramel at all. Some say hibiscus is barely there while others say it is more floral and hibiscus forward. With that much variation I decided to just pick it up and try it for myself. On first spray I get a bright burst of fruit, most likely the passionfruit and bergamot. It is juicy and noticeable but fades very quickly. Within less than a minute the caramel starts to come through. At first it almost feels a little awkward in the composition, but it becomes clear that it is intentional. On my skin the caramel is definitely present. It is sweet but balanced well with a salty edge that keeps it from going overly sugary. There are some interesting contrasts happening here. The fruit lifts the opening, then fairly quickly the fragrance settles into that thicker salted caramel. Around the 15 to 20 minute mark it starts to feel a bit powdery, which I imagine is coming from the orris softening the sweetness. I am still undecided about the dry down. I suspect the cypriol might be what is throwing me off a bit. I cannot tell if I am detecting it because I read the note beforehand or if it is genuinely coming through in the base. Overall it is an interesting fragrance. Not an immediate love for me, but definitely one I will need to spend more time with before forming a final opinion. Edit: Over 24 hours with Love Hibiscus, here are my final thoughts. At first I couldn’t decide if it felt slightly disjointed with some interesting notes or if it was thoughtfully structured. After spending more time with it, I’m firmly in the thoughtfully structured camp. She’s not a big, loud projector like many from this house - and the Love line in particular isn’t meant to be. Instead, it stays close to the skin for 6+ hours and takes you on a really interesting ride. Very happy to have this bottle in my collection 🌺

I love Amouage so so much and I keep wishing they would launch more gourmand perfumes. Love Hibiscus is by far the most gourmand launch by Amouage. And it is executed very well - blended masterfully, unique scent, quality ingredients. Opens a bit powdery, even a bit lipsticky, with fruity passionfruit and tangy hibiscus. Then soon after, the vanilla and subtle caramel emerges. It is sweet, but not too sweet (just perfect amount of sweetness, and I like sweet), tangy but not too tangy, creamy but not too creamy, salty but just a tiny bit. It smells like some tasty multivitamin and I mean in the best way possible. It is even a bit milky late in the dry down (would say almost condensed milk at the end of the day) , and remains delicious with passionfruit noticeable throughout a wear. Gotten a compliment too. Lasts very very long, especially on clothes and has a decent projection. Performs crazy good compared to many other perfumes, but among some certain Amouages it a bit more gentle (aka not beast mode) , so I just need a few extra sprays. Still totally worth it.

I have been using Love Hibiscus for one month, and I think Children's Day is a perfect time to write a review. I'll begin by noting the importance of the timing of these releases. We are talking about the spring-summer season, which fits perfectly – it is a truly spring-summer holiday scent. When I wear it, my mood immediately improves. I feel like doing pleasant, carefree things and having a drink – depending on the time of day – a strawberry smoothie or a Strawberry Daiquiri. :) I don't know whether it's the maracuja, the salty caramel, or the hibiscus (perfectly combined and subtly accented with woody notes). However, I am sure that this composition is of very good quality. It also feels like the creators spent a lot of time refining the concept behind these perfumes. The result is a scent that perfectly captures the holiday atmosphere, while also featuring an oriental twist straight from the Kingdom of Oman. For me, it is the discovery of the season, and I use it with pleasure.

To me this is VERY hibiscus flower forward!! Don't expect to pinpoint all the sweet notes. I was worried at first when I tried it since it was a blind buy and the sweet notes I was looking forward to! However, that floral IS gorgeous and the perfume smells expensive, so you get your money's worth. What surprised me though, was the hibiscus was wrapped in the sweet notes (a hint of caramel, hint of passionfruit and some vanilla) in the dry down!! Just want to warn people, this is not a gourmand and not what I expected, but that's also Amouage for you. I just thought I'd get more passionfruit/caramel. Ultimately, I'm pleasantly surprised that I love this! Not what I was expecting, but an absolute love when I realize the vision they were going for. It's a powdery, sweet, hibiscus that is unique in my collection and I'm glad to have it. I know it'll grow on me the more I have it. If you're looking for a gourmand fragrance, this is not blind buy safe, but thankfully it worked for me!

The fragrance is definitely one of the easiest to wear in the Amouage collection. It easy-going fragrance, feminine, playful and airy, an ideal choice for everyday wear. Despite the presence of hibiscus in the notes, to me it doesn’t smell like the flower itself, but rather evokes hibiscus tea (karkade), with its characteristic light bitterness and refreshing tartness. Hibiscus here doesn’t come across literally, but more as a mood. The passion fruit is beautifully rendered - juicy, ripe, like the actual pulp of the fruit. It has a perfect balance of soft sweetness and delicate acidity, which makes the fragrance feel vibrant and lively. The caramel adds depth to the composition. It feels refined, with a subtle salty nuance that keeps the scent from becoming overly sweet. Overall, the fragrance is multifaceted and interesting, yet completely wearable, a rare case where niche perfumery feels light and effortless.

I’ve never fully connected with Amouage’s Secret Garden line. When I reach for an Amouage creation I want mystery, seduction, and that unmistakable, daring DNA the house is known for. The Secret Garden releases have often felt a bit too safe to capture that spirit. Hibiscus Love finally bridges that gap. On paper the notes suggest something light and playful, but on skin it unfolds as a sweet, woody floral with a soft veil of incense running through it. The hibiscus note is surprisingly distinct and adds a lush floral character. Don’t come expecting a gourmand... sorry if the notes lead you here. If that’s what you’re looking for, you may be disappointed. Instead, this leans into a warm floral-woody elegance with just enough depth to feel unmistakably Amouage. For me, this is a win. It’s the first fragrance from the Secret Garden line that I’m genuinely excited to own.

Finally, a new release from Amouage that didn't make me feel enraged and disappointed when I smelled it. On paper (figuratively) this shouldn't be up my street, but it works surprisingly well, and has rich, smokey depth to balance out the caramel. Plus the florals are sort of weird and intriguing. I wouldn't go as far as to say that this is a return to former glory (far, far from it), but I'm relieved that they've put something out that doesn't smell like all of the other Bisch and Bisch-adjacent dreck of the past few years. Also, crucially, this one performs well, but like a normal perfume, instead of being a relentless, screeching, droning nightmare.

I just got a sample of Love Hibiscus and I love it! I usually avoid fruity fragrances, as they typically lean too youthful and many smell generic to me. With Amouage being that house that tends to be unique and beast mode, I thought it would be worth giving it a try. I’m surprised that Love Hibiscus doesn’t last one me and would actually need to double up on sprays for it to project, while others in the house, a few sprays would suffice. It smells juicy, I can pick up on the hibiscus petal aroma, and it smells very warm. Thankfully my body chemistry works well with this fragrance and I hope to purchase a full bottle when I get the chance.

Love Hibiscus opens up with a tart passionfruit and hibiscus note. It reminds me of freshly brewed tea! The salted caramel is somewhat buttery, the direction the perfumer was going in was inspired by buttery sugar coated palmier biscuits! The bergamot gives it more of a zesty touch without it becoming too citrusy. The dry down is where the magic begins. Smooth frankincense and creamy vanilla and sandalwood intertwined with the tangy aspects from the hibiscus and passionfruit! This truly is a tropical dream! A floral gourmand without being too cloying. This is perfect for summer. I can picture this being the scent of summer 2026

This is a truly amazing fragrance. I did not expect much, because I was not impressed with any of their latest offerings. But this is uniquely gorgeous. It opens with bright hibiscus and tart tropical passionfruit - the real flower and the real fruit, not the usual synthetic fruit punch you get when a house claims "tropical", but means "air freshener". Hibiscus tea note here is massively realistic, and underneath it is a heavy drizzle of warm caramel. To me it gets more gourmand as it develops, and its marvelous sandalwood/vanilla/caramel drydown lasts forever - it's been 14 hours and I can still smell it lingering around me.

This is sooooo slept on. People hating on this are annoyed because it’s not as unique as something like interlude woman, but this is fantastic. Lotssss of chalky, dry, and makeup-like orris butter, and a lot of tart, sweet, mouth-watering fruits and hibiscus. It’s jammy, chalky, smooth, long lasting, and unisex but feminine leaning. A beautiful release, and, while it is wayyyy more mass appealing than people would like to see from amouage, it’s a gorgeous perfume that could be worn pretty much whenever!!! Woah... I think I'm one of the few people who actually loves Love Hibiscus. While I wouldn't classify this as a masterpiece, it's certainly something special imo. It's funny how it seems like a lot of people are turned off by the combination of fruity & woody notes, whereas that's what I enjoy about this fragrance the most... I guess fragrance is truly subjective. To be honest I don't pick up much of the orris. (I'll try to find it on my next wear). To me it's a solid fruity/tropical blend with a bold choice of a woody base, it works for me.

This perfume is loud, bright, fruity, and floral. The passionfruit top note is incredibly sweet and juicy, but is balanced nicely by the hibiscus. As another commenter mentioned it smells like what every girl was wearing in 2008, but a very refined, modern, and mature version. The price tag is steep for what you're getting, as it targets a very specific vibe that I personally do not feel all the time, however if you're yearning for the days of Total Girl magazines and strawberry lipgloss then this might be for you.

I appreciate the fragrances that deliver what their creators promise they will deliver. Love Hibiscus does that - it's a solid performer and the fragrance develops according to the listed notes. The hibiscus is at the center, the passion fruit and bergamot give freshness and prevent the perfume from becoming overly sweet because of the caramel and the vanilla notes. I value Epinette's work and "Love Hibiscus" is not an exception.

You will smell passion fruit, this is what I call a dry gourmand. It's got a vanilla and base wood base, but you will smell a little bit of that sour candy smell. It's like a very grown up Kayali fragrance. If you only like strong Amouage fragrances, this is not for you. It's a stunningly beautiful and unique fragrance, and fruit normally turns on me. This doesn't.

I got a sample of this and it's such a beautiful scent. Everything is blended beautifully. Floral-gourmand on my skin. It's not a strong passionfruit at all, can barely smell any if at all. It's blended so well that you can smell the other notes and they play well together. It's not like the other passionfruit forward fragrances that are out now.

this is INCREDIBLE! the freshest parfum Amouage has made. The scent is absolutely hypnotizing, the sweetness is well balanced - it doesn't smell like tea, it doesn't smell like syrup, very well rounded scent. It's less complex compared to their others and feels like something new for the brand but it's special nonetheless.

It's very addictive scent, I'm so happy that blind bought after the beautifule bottle. First it was a little weird but next day I wanted soo much again... I can get the incensy passionfruit with caramell and it's such a special but enjiyable sunner perfume. Storng and lasts all day. It will be my vacation petfume hmmmm...

I use it for 6 weeks and I can say it's a very playful, everyday use summer fragrance for that people who loves the Amouage quality. It has average sillage and laszs 6hours on my skin. I have Armani Stronger with you but that one is more sweeter thats why I reach often for Amouage.

It was love at first sniff. I find it unique. Love the hibiscus note. If you love the taste of hibiscus, you'll probably love the scent of it. I believe the passion fruit really gave it a boost in the sweet tartness. Very unique, which is how I'd like to smell.

This one is so good. I just love it! Juicy fruits, hibiscus and a buttery carmel make this unique, especially for a sweet perfume. One of my current favorites, for sure!

Passionfruit comes through strongly in the opening, making it feel playful, bright, and a little unexpected. What I like is how familiar it feels in an Omani way. A lot of us already know karkade(hibiscus) and passionfruit mango served at gatherings, so that fruity floral opening feels both fun and strangely nostalgic. As it settles, the fragrance starts to soften. The sweetness becomes smoother, with caramel and vanilla giving it a dessert like warmth, while the frankincense wraps everything together in a way that feels very Amouage. That touch of luban gives it depth and keeps it from becoming too sugary. To me, this is an easy wearing, feminine leaning scent with a carefree smoothness. It feels modern, soft, and long lasting. I think some people may judge it too quickly from the opening, but this is one of those fragrances that takes a little time to really appreciate. The dry down is where it becomes truly beautiful.

I received my bottle this week and tested it yesterday. The bottle is stunning, and if I hadn't spent $420, I would keep it just to have it on my shelf. But. This is definitely not worth the price tag. It's very, very sweet at the start, and I can't smell the orris whatsoever, which is my favorite fragrance note, and the dry down is very basic vanilla. Projection was terrible on me, TEN sprays on wrists, arms, neck, and top and I couldn't even catch wafts of it an hour later. I do know fragrances need to settle a few days sometimes. So, I will give it one more wear and if the performance is the same, will be returning it. I really wanted to LOVE this one, shoot!

This is just first impression as I had this on skin for only about an hour. The most prominent notes on my skin are passion fruit, caramel, and hibiscus (to the lesser extend). The strong passion fruit and caramel create a note that smells a lot like pineapple. The caramel smells liquid and laconic, not thick, chewy, or burnt. At the top opening, I get a very strong note, along passionfruit and caramel, that is very sharp and conflicting with the rest of the composition. It sticks out like a smack of a hammer in the middle of a melody 😬, but goes away after about 10 minutes. I thought that it is cipriol, but I get it at the very opening, not in the base. If I would have to describe this fragrance it would be passionfruit jello with hint of caramel at a tropical island vacation. The overall feel of the fragrance is very designer-like, pleasant, and totally worthy of tropical vacation resort, not a lush rainforest. This gives me a throwback to some Escada scent. The projection is moderate. Edit: I have been wearing Love Hibiscus for over four hours and these are my impressions. When the fragrance settles after the initial opening, it remains linear without much further development. On my skin it is passionfruit and caramel dominant fragrance. Hibiscus and other notes are supporting at best. I think that this fragrance might ware better on someone with warm skin type, as it will perhaps bring out more nuances and notes. I have very cool skin type and it does not develop much once settles. Love Hibiscus gives me a very strong throw-back to early 2000s, to some tropical Escada perfume. I picture this fragrance on a popular high school girl or a young woman in her late teens wearing this fragrance in the end of spring and summer while having fun. Of course anyone can ware anything they like, and I will be trying out my bottle more, but I believe this will work great for a young woman during very warm weather. I think Love Hibiscus is a rather simple, pleasant release, but to me it does not compare to other Amouage releases (not even in the garden line, like Love Momosa, Blossom Love, and Lilac Love). I also think that Love Hibiscus will work great as a tropical resort vacation fragrance. Love Hibiscus is ok, but it’s not a love, at least not yet because I think it is more of a summer fragrance.

OPENING - DRY DOWN Opens strongly with caramel, passionfruit, and steeped hibiscus, all blending to form a synthetic candle scent. It leans very gourmand in this phase. Not very impressed by the opening. The dry down is a lot better because the synthetic feeling goes away. This gives a tea vibe, it's kind of fresh, slightly sweet. The caramel here feels more like an enhancement than a main character SILLAGE / PERFORMANCE/COMPLIMENTS This is a lot lighter in the dry down than other Amouage fragrances I've smelled. For some reason it doesn't seem to stick around too long on my skin. Most people around me enjoyed this. OCCASIONS/SEASONS Hard to pick a season but Summer and the hotter days of Fall seem perfect for this. FINAL THOUGHTS This just feels too far from something I'd reach for. Strong fragrances are usually something I love but something in this just doesn't blend with me. The dry down is good, but with such a polarizing and sweet opening, it's kind of out of my realm. Don't knock it until you try it but do sample first!

Sweet fruity and punchy. This smells like a synthetic juicy delight, that veers on the side of being a sugar bomb. Amouge pull it back with decedent caramel and an endearing mixture of frankincense and orris, but for me this still sits slightly outside their typical wheelhouse. I definetly get the passion fruit (which seems to be popular in fragrances over the past year or so) and hibiscus but I also seem to get manufactured strawberries and store bought vanilla. It certainly a more female leaning scent, and perhaps for a younger target market. It is made with love, although I can't say I love it personally.

I'm not sure...am I the only one who smells fenugreek right from the start?? Frankincense at the beginning nicely balances the sweetness and juiciness of the maracuja that is prominent for the whole time and I like the contrast of tropical warm and dark/cold woodiness and incense but can't get over that fenugreek..that with sour maracuja reminds me of sweat

From the notes and being a gourmand lover, I thought this would have been right up my street but I don’t enjoy this one at all. I wouldn’t call this a gourmand. I get a green hibiscus type scent with some lightly detectable fruitiness and little else. A pass

I ordered a sample of this and really hoped to like it, but alas it was not meant to be. A note about me: I’m not typically drawn to fruity fragrances, but I’ve been slowly trying a few samples here and there trying to see if I can find just the right one for when the mood strikes. Love Hibiscus is not the one. I found the initial spray promising and was excited to see how the notes unfolded, but it quickly turned from bright and fruity into a funky, slightly sour caramel. After a short while, all the complexity faded away and I was left with something I can only describe as aged orange juice. Typically, I’m not looking for fragrances to give me that “I’ve been cleaning up orange juice after small children all day” vibe, so unfortunately for me and my skin chemistry, this one is a miss.

I don’t Love Hibiscus at all, in fact it’s my least favourite from Amouage ever, which is a huge disappointment. It’s the clash of the sweet verses sour which doesn’t sit well with me. The super-sour passionfruit with bergamot acts like acid-yellow toxic waste which clashes against the sweet vanilla and salted caramel. The cypriol then adds a bitter herbal. With such polar opposite scent profiles of this sweet verses sour, it doesn’t feel balanced. To me at least, it smells like stomach acid after binge-drinking tropical cocktails made with cranberry juice on an empty stomach.

Smells like a strong hookah in the air, a fruity one, the ones that are maybe nice enjoyed but passing by- they make me sick. This is the first scent ever that made me gag, I thought that could never happen to me 🫪 I suspect it could be frankincense in combination with salted caramel and well hibiscus.. Soo smokyyyy and punches me in the throat

Initial spray not for me, heavy and almost giving headaches. After a couple hours its quite nice, sweet and caramel. Just not worth the heavy and icky spray :( wanted to like this as I love passionfruit and hibiscus

The opening is super sharp! The salted caramel + passion fruit combo translates as BO/ vomit on my skin! I was hoping for it to get better ok the drydown, but unfortunately it didn’t.

This scent is not subtle. It also smells to me like what every girl wore in highschool circa 2008, but perhaps grown up a bit. Very sweet, very juicy, very bright pink fragrance

It has this VERY particular smell of some kind of candy from my childhood. It's a very dry, chalky hibiscus-passionfeuit smell. I wish I knew what candy it reminds me of...!

The way I know I dislike this even though I tried to convince myself otherwise is that if I felt the smell coming from my armpits, I’d panic. 😂

This is narco oasis rebottled. The Frankincense is present for 5 mins tops. I cannot perceive the hibiscus nor orris.

This fragrance is a mix of fruity and funk, with a lot of woods. That’s it. That’s my review. Eeeeeyuck!

What in the world is this hot synthetic mess all about? I paid $400 bucks for this? It’s going straight back to where it came from. This is an INSULT to niche perfumery. This should be banned from the market. It’s childish, it’s loud and screechy. The notes are just not compatible with each other and it ends up being cheap fruit syrup from any low budget grocery store or small town supermarket. Not worth 400 dollars in my opinion! No way. Last time I tried something as disappointing as this was Cabana Sunset by Navitus. These shannanigans are truly misleading. They ain’t keeping my hard earned money. Please do not blind buy this stuff here. It’s messy as hell
