White Hinoki

Took me awhile to put my finger on it and got it! This shares a similar DNA to xerjoff 40 knots. But this is a lighter/airer/white version. Blonde/white woods surrounded by green (Hinoki), a dash of pepper with tobacco. I don't pick up on the blood orange or whiskey but it's well blended hard to pick the notes. This is quite versatile I believe but the kind of fragrance you need to be in the mood for because it brings a certain aurua to it. It's no dumb reach fragrance, it's a deep and mysterious fragrance. As others have said this is a Zen type scent and I'd agree. This is masculine leaning but females could pull it off but as I said it's the right type of mood scent. This falls under the rare category of mine that feels 'more than just a perfume'. Other perfumes in this category are Creed Original Vetiver, Himalaya, Roja Midsummer dream, Tom Ford Oud Wood etc. Apply this, go lie on sun lounger on a semi windy day, shut your eyes and you'll feel you're in a different place. Very Very nice, mysterious fragrance. Going off the 40 knots similarity this is softer, smoother whereas 40 Knots is quite loud and brash. I enjoy them both, so if you like 40 Knots but it's abit 'over the top' definitely give this a try! Rating after owning 3 days 9/10 Losing a point for Versatility. Live in New Zealand, it's summer here cannot wait to try this in Autumn. I think Spring & Autumn this will shine. Himalayan Woods needs to be added on here, I have a bottle and it shares a similar DNA to something I've smelt before. Haven't put my finger on it yet, will update when and if I do. Himalayan Woods review: Opens very nice, I can definitely pick up on the juniper berries, ginger and a dash of citrus. It feels icy cool similar to Eau Givre and Creed Himalaya but different scent profile. Just has that cooling calm effect. Mids are slightly floral but hard to pick out. In the drydown it's hard to pick notes but i can detect the woods, musk and some amber. The guaiac is present, it's one of my favorite woody notes so I can pick it out but again blended very well. Below is the official notes: Top Notes: Cardamom Pure JE, Black Pepper Pure JE, Clary Sage, Juniper Berry, Lemon Blossom Middle Notes: Jasmine, Guaiac Wood, Vanilla Flower Base Notes: Tonka, White Amber, Oud, Patchouli, Musk Himalayan Woods rating 8/10 - Blended superbly, however the performance is hard to gauge. I do catch whafts of it 6+ hrs in but im unsure if the musks are blowing my olfactory senses. Because smelling up close after 1hr it's hard to detect, i do know white musks have this effect. Perfect example is Dior Homme Cologne, you'll catch whafts for hours but up close its hard to detect. Also, I've only worn around the house so far, I will give it some wearings over the summer. Overall, Blend is great, smell is great, performance is hard to tell. Definitely worth a sniff if you can, I did blind buy this and do enjoy it. Again it's a zen 'in the mood' type fragrance, which so far Amouroud from what I've smelt all share this characteristics. In saying that, these are incredible niche perfumes.

Solid, beautiful, hard-wearing stuff with HIGH QUALITY running right through it like the rings through a tree trunk. Citrus/woody scents often leave me feeling a bit uneasy and unmoored, out of touch with nature rather than transported into it - "where am I in the world, and what season is it?" - as they often fail to knit everything together well enough and the transition from opening fruit to later wood can be extremely bumpy. Not here though. Bracing blood orange, ginger and cistus notes tide it over into another phase of pure loveliness, with pepper and cinnamon incredibly delicate but very much there. The wood itself is utterly natural upscale cypress with not even a hint of fake aromachemical to it. Fascinating in how it morphs and mutates, too - in some moments it's nearly all citrus, other moments all forest, and at others just a genuinely sophisticated and wonderfully nuanced fragrance. Towards the end (and that's as late as 7-8h in) it still offers little instants of almost powdery, nearly-ambery sweetness. I find it interesting how opinions vary on whether this is a male or female scent - I'd vote for it as one of the very very few true unisex, if you can take the slight bitterness of cypress, and unfailingly lovely in every phase. Projection and longevity both as robust as the toughest hinoki in the thicket. Pricy, but more than justifies its existence. Reminded me strongly of 1942 Nobile Infinito, just about a thousand times brighter, sharper, clearer and more vivid in every dimension than Infinito is. For me this was a blind buy (just of a decant) which paid off handsomely, but I wouldn't go for a full bottle blind unless you already know for sure that cypress/hinoki scents really work for you. If they do, then this one is pretty close to perfect IMHO.

This fragrance is incredible. So much going on here & this frag is anything but linear... If you like boozy frags then you're going to love this one. Upon initial application I get that boozey, blood orange mixed with a gorgeous smokey wood, floral and tobacco... But not a feminine floral at all. In the dry down I get a hint of cinnamon, spicy pepper & ginger... Very masculine for a frag with florals in it. Oh man do I love this one & usually I'm not a fan of ginger &/or cinnamon frags. Longevity & sillage is through the roof!!! Definitely sample before you buy cause this one is unlike anything I've ever smelled & I'm telling you, it's not going to be for everyone. Imho a masterpiece!

This fragrance reminds me a lot of a great affordable and unique perfume by Tous. Les colognes concentree has the same aroma of “frozen woods” like walking through a magical and relaxing enchanted forest covered with snow......White Hinioki obviously has much better quality and proyection/ longevity.

This is a beautiful , zen fragrance. Smells like you’re at a spa with an outdoor shower. Wouldn’t wear the fragrance but I spray my home and pillows at night with this.
