If Secretions Magnifiques smelled good.

i’m just getting into perfume and have been playing around a lot with different samples. i’m not as well versed but i didn’t think i’d be into aquatic/marine smells at all based on personal preference. the only other aquatic scent i have tried is artik sea by lorenzo pazzaglia which in my opinion is super traditional like divine masculine aspiration but too self conscious. virginal feels like a leap in another direction aquatically in comparison to what i’ve smelled before. i would say it fills for me a type of divine masculinity that i didn’t know i was looking for. it reminds me of the rush of skinny dipping at night, stepping on something sharp while barefoot, and flat seltzer left in the sun. anyway i wrote this as procrastination/maybe as a warm up for my actual homework grad school is hard lol. but all in all i liked it and i’m excited to see what comes next!

This is definitely a summer perfume. I disliked this when I first tested it earlier this year. I'm re-testing this today as its the first 90+ degree day of the year, and WOW what a difference! It's juicy, fruity, sweet but savory, tangy, definitely a little sweaty but in a fun way. Its only been an hour since I sprayed, so I cant wait to smell how it changes throughout the day.

it smells like throwing a sun-bleached neon pink plastic frisbee at the beach! but the image of a stretched, well-lubricated latex balloon is also being conjured. edit: i neglected to mention just how heady this concoction is. like, the vcr cleaner kind of heady.

Very underrated. I love this scent but understand why some might not. It’s fresh, soft and sweet with a salty, sweaty base. It truly smells like summer.

tawdry, vulgar bordering full on perverse. a bald and bristle-bellied voyeur at a dingy motel watches the pretty next door neighbor as she sips a poolside cocktail excessively concentrated with liquor and sick with strawberry syrup. there's an underlying thick must, like half-washed motel laundry seeping into humid summer air virginal is essentially marred by its overwhelmingly pungent sweat note. a bit of salty must is welcome, but it swallows this whole, like a giant, sweaty whale

Virginal is another perfume that, even just by name, clearly exists at the intersection of wistful nostalgia and salacious sexuality. Much more aqueous and transparent than Baby Boy, I had to experience this composition on skin to truly understand how complex and beautiful it was. Inspired in part by childhood trips to sleepy seaside towns in Maine, this is barely even an aquatic perfume, much less a ‘coastal vibe.’ The opening is juniper and saline strawberry, halfway between my beloved Fraaagola Saalaaata and the sharper opening of Diptyque’s Orpheon. I was delighted to see tuberose in the notes of this perfume. It wasn’t immediately intelligible to my nose, but there is a sort of creaminess held between heart notes of salt water, ejaculate, and vanilla. The drydown is my favorite part: a melted candle accord I can only find mirrored in Clue’s wonderful With the Candlestick. Something that smells waxy, balmy, and faintly like chalk. This is a perfume so musk-based, it really does need to be tried out on your skin. I get a bit of the intimate saline of Antoine Lie creations Post Tenebras Lux or even Secretions Magnifiques. It wears lightly, but with an enduring tenacity. This is lovely worn to bed, but I very vividly remember wearing it to church on Easter Day. Think slurred strawberries sauntering sleepily towards something like intimacy. Lover’s spit left on repeat, awkward first kisses, drinks with enigmatic older men, et cetera. Watery, but in an embryotic fluid way, not at all like going to the beach. This is pink flavored LCL, wear it to embarrass yourself at summer camp, or to learn about the birds and bees from your cool older cousin with an infected nose ring.

On my skin, this smells like sweet waxy creaminess, with a salty, sweaty musk in a light and fresh way. Initial spray is pretty boozy, definitely get the tequila there.

Smells like clean saliva tastes in my mouth, when I breath it in I drool in Pavlovian response. UPDATE: This smells like the girls at Strangers Bar in Bangkok.
