Neon Veil

REALITY : You've somehow managed to smell the color purple.Musky. Powdery. Peppery.Like the coolest girl you've ever met just hugged you and now you're trying to casually sniff your sweater without looking insane. Soft skin, warm lotion, clean laundry, and that impossible-to-describe "you smell good" scent that keeps making you go back for another sniff. REVIEW 🦪: I read the review below mine that described this as a cross between Glossier You and Angel Dust, and I was immediately over the moon. I adore Angel Dust and Angel Dust Extrait (possibly even more), and I've loved Glossier You since its original 2017 release. I'm firmly in the camp that believes the reformulation lost some of the magic. It's still beautiful, but I've spent years chasing that original scent profile through dupes, niche alternatives, and anything remotely Glossier You-adjacent. The moment I smelled Neon Veil, I knew it was something special. This was the first fragrance that immediately gave me that "OG Glossier You" feeling. Not just similar. Not just inspired by. The same effortless, addictive skin-scent DNA that made me fall in love with the original. That said, Neon Veil isn't a clone. There's a modern twist in the dry down. On my skin it becomes slightly softer, a touch sweeter, and a little edgier over the next 6-7 hours. It feels like the original Glossier You grew up, got cooler, and started hanging out in niche perfume circles. As for the Angel Dust comparison, I don't find it nearly as close. But if you're looking for a more feminine, softer musk, I absolutely understand why people make the connection. I received my sample today and bought a full bottle within hours after aggressively hunting for a discount code. 11/10.

I am IN LOVE with Neon Veil. It just seems to fit me so well. And after sampling Neon Veil with just one full wearing, I was so taken with it that I purchased a bottle from Lucky Scent. Neon Veil is a really comfortable, easy wearing, unisex, work friendly woody fragrance. The primary accord I get is a very natural cedar/sandalwood/palo santo scent, coupled with a powdery sweet musk. It is the smell of freshly cut smooth, supple and subtly sweet wood and clean, powdery skin. The wood puts out a soft incense and smoke vibe ... and I typically don't like incense or smoke accords. The iris, violet and orange blossom are faint, light, airy and incredibly well blended. Although the fragrance is very linear for me during the majority of its lifespan, moving into the late dry down a subtle, pleasant fruity leather accord appears. I have not heard other people specifically describe this in Neon Veil, but that is what I smell. This is such a pleasing aroma for me. I can't stop smelling my arm. I don't know if the majority of people will like Neon Veil as much as I do, but I just love it. Projection is moderate. Sillage is low to moderate. Longevity for me has been good, not great. Maybe 5 hours. 9.25/10 and a huge Fragrantica score of 4.7 from me.

I'm going to ignore that person below and say that I am honored to be the first reviewer on this wonderful fragrance! A quality Iris perfume for sure. I wouldn't say it is groundbreaking or anything of the sort, but whatever it is, it does so very well. Orange blossom and Iris are a beautiful match, and I enjoy it no matter where it's coming from and how it is composed. It doesn't naturally conjure up images of artificial intelligence or other futuristic scenarios. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news for those people who were excited to be taken away to the distant future. But I will say you could force yourself to go there if you really wanted to! Andrea has good taste and everything she approves has the ability to change and morph into that very thing you were hoping to feel and experience to begin with. I understand myself enough at this point to know that sometimes I want something elegant and sometimes I want something futuristic. Sometimes I want my fair lady and sometimes I want blade Runner 2049. This fragrance could be both and I think that's really cool. This is a purchase for me!

I blind bought Neon Veil and after sampling on the test strip, I couldn’t get it on my skin fast enough. It’s as if Andrea Maack called me herself and asked me to describe my ideal fragrance and she’d make it just for me. It’s is a clean, modern skin scent that opens with a bright pop of pink pepper and the soft, musky warmth of ambrette. As it develops, orange blossom adds a subtle floral brightness, while orris brings a cool, powdery texture that feels smooth and airy. The drydown is sheer and intimate, with musk and cedarwood creating a soft, linear finish that stays close to the skin. It’s minimal, futuristic, and quietly expressive—like an ethereal second skin lit from within. I’m in love.

Beautiful spa-like scent. Sampled this both during the day and at night. It can definitely work for both but, for myself, it shines exquisitely during the evening.. something you spray on once you are ready to settle in for the night. The cooler (not warm!) spice/pepper hit at the beginning is a bit unexpected but still enjoyable. It immediately stimulates your senses without literally burning them out. After a few minutes a lovely dry down develops and the iris appears as a restrained, natural violet. There is nothing abrasive, no flashing neon lights, but rather more of a tempered glamour. Delightfully velvety, powdery and soft without veering into plastic territory. Lovely perfume!

I have Sonic Flowers and Fleur de Peau and I see the similar DNA, but I think this is so pretty I’m tempted to get a full bottle. It’s lighter than SF and less floral than FdP to me. Neon Veil is a very comforting, cozy, powdery, peachy dream. I don’t get much ambrette in here - which makes it different than many of the other “your skin but better” musk fragrances. Longevity isn’t great and it sits close to the skin, but that’s to be expected with this scent profile.

I really like the scent, but unlike Soft Tension and Ceramic, I don't get that "wow" feeling from this one. Those fragrances feel special, and both their scent and longevity justify Andrea Maack's price tag. This one, however, doesn't feel as unique. It reminds me a lot of Glossier You and Musc K. Nevertheless, I bought it because I really like it, even though I already have several fragrances like this.

If you've tried Angel Dust and found it too masculine, this is the perfect feminized version. It's as if glossier you & angel dust had a baby. It's eternal, I think people are nose blind to the aroma chemicals because I've been complimented up to 8 hours after applying this post shower in the A.M. I do recommend purchasing this over the formers, as Neon Veil is the best of all the worlds.

Obsessed. One of my top iris fragrances. It hits close to You, Sonic Flower, Studied, but there's something extra about it that makes it unique to these. It's brighter. I'm so glad I found this!

This smells a lot like Fleur de Peau to me, but I also get bouts of Glossier You too. The pepper in the opening is prominent and then it quickly fades into the musky, earthy, and carrot iris. For me, it's hard to not like a musky skin scent with iris like this. I'm not too sure I would spend the hefty price tag for this offering as I would likely just use Glossier You over this as I prefer having a smidge of sweetness, whereas this is a bit more earthy. Overall this is really nice, simple and elegant.

I think the scent is beautiful. I find it to be similar to Glossier You and Musc K, but not the same. On my skin, the projection is almost non-existent (I have to put nose to skin to smell it on myself) and the longevity is poor, and for those reasons I would not purchase a full bottle.

This is the same woody musky crisp pear that’s been done a million times. I expected better from Andrea Maack, this is nothing like the notes

I wasn’t sure about this to begin with but now with a proper test i think it’s quite lovely. Sure it has some similarities to other musky skin scents going around at the moment, but the pepper definitely sets it apart. Other reviewers mention longevity isn’t great which I agree with. I do get whiffs of it still after I think it’s gone so I could just be nose blind. Anyway, the dry down is quite addictive, it leaves me with a peppery, woody, iris scent. Very nice.

Room 1015 SonicFlower and D’orsay Sur tes levres had a baby. That’s neon veil. And I got all 3 lmao and I don’t find redundancy having them all. Sonic flower stays pear like glossier you like, Sur tes levres goes static fuzz. Neon veil starts off strong SonicFlower and dries down Sur tes levres. Buy it!!! It’s gorgeous.

Definitely reminds me of YOU, Sonic Flower and others like those but this is a edgier neon version of those because this is more vibrant and sweeter, almost sticky but in a good way. I notice a sweet plastic doll note as well. I guess this is an edgier and neon version of those skin scents, I love it.

This smells amazing, but the projection is non existent. Not necessarily a bad thing, but for me personally I want to be smelled by others haha still LOVE this fragrance however, a beautiful sweet musk.
