Pistachio Kunafa

The popularity of pistachios is already starting to decline, maybe better so, the scents just start to repeat itselve. Still for me pistachio have become the new almond. And oh my, how I love almonds! Old almonds. I think current almonds have just lost their original essence and have become somehow different from what they were. Nowadays many almond scents are more like "rubbery and waxy" while the old ones were cleaner, and yes, slightly soapy too. If you know, you know what I mean. Anyway, I find that same clean soapy feel in current pistachios, so I am already afraid that perfumers' fear of soap will kill pistachios too. and note; I'm not really a fan of soapy scents either. However, I love that soapiness as a base note much more than too heavy musk, which, I think, clog the purity of so many scents. Okey.. but to get back to this scent; I just love, love this one! and I really distinguish a perfect cookie-like chocolate here! This is just so delicious and yet completely perfume-like too. I don't understand the bad reviews, to me this is perfectly beautiful.

This smells like a photorealistic waffle cone on my skin. It's powdery and nutty. The chocolate is a bit more prominent in the initial spray than in the dry-down, and it leans more creamy, it definitely isn't bitter. I will say that it is also a slightly more feminine leaning scent imo. This fragrance isn't necessarily a super photorealistic dubai chocolate bar, especially since the chocolate in this is not at the forefront of the fragrance, but I guess it captures a part of it, mostly the pistachio and kunafa part, albeit in a bit more of a perfume-y way. Yeah, this isn't gonna be everyone's cup of tea, but idk I'm not mad at it, I like it and will try to figure out ways I can layer it with other chocolate fragrances.

Why are people so harsh with this one, i find it being very nice and comforting especially because it is not projecting beastly although its an extrait and the longevity is very good, it smells like a pistachio warm latte with caramel and i'm not even joking by saying this but give yourself some time with this one, its the type of fragrance which gives the vibes of getting out with a friend which you know it always smells good, not because he uses perfumes but because he's taking care of himself, now replace that nice scent you get from him with a gourmand sweet heavenly pistachio caramel latte, you're welcome.

This isn't a stand alone fragrance, all though it's not a bad fragrance, but if you layer this with certain fragrances you'll truly start to see the true purpose of this fragrance is to complement others. Yes this is a wonderful duo for the right fragrance, to push that chocolate and caramel into a beautiful masterpiece. If you have a good fragrance, but the sillage isn't quite were you want it, plus bring a pop to the fragrance try laying this and enjoy your bubble of sweet is gourmet aroma.

This has to be one of my faves. It’s so soft and creamy. You get this nutty creamy chocolate vanilla. I would say it’s more nutty and creamy than it is “chocolate” but you definitely do get the hints of chocolate. Would repurchase :) Plus every time I wear this fragrance I always get compliments! Projection: 7/10 Longevity: 12+ hours on clothing and about 6-8 on skin

Delicious cocoa butter scent with nutty cocoa tones and pistachio aroma. Not a screamer, not too sweet: it is a skin scent and office safe. 2 months after purchase, I can say that longevity is quite good: 6-7 hours on my dry skin, longer on clothes. Absolutely beautiful and unisex❤️ 9/10

This is photorealistic deliciousness a literal Dubai chocolate bar!! The projection and longevity is insane this is a total beast of a fragrance it’s insanely beautiful

Got this recommended from a fragrance channel and initially bought it cause it’s a gourmand. To my expectations it was a little disappointing it’s like a photorealistic heavy savory pistachio latte drink rather than the actual Dubai chocolate kunafa itself. My complaint is that it’s very oily on the skin not surprised given the scent longevity. It smells faintly chocolate with a domineering nutty profile I recommend layering this with another strong gourmand particularly a chocolate scent if you wanna smell like an actual arabian chocolate desert. I received this as a gift for Christmas. Although it initially put me off, I grew to like it. Many people compliment me on it. I do classify it as a "heavier" perfume, akin to Chocolate Greedy by Montale. I'd probably layer it like user xyris did in the reviews. Seems like it would work well and would bring out that chocolate note. It really does smell like pistachios. Has a vanilla, sweet caramel, and praline-like chocolate smell. I've been told I smell like a chocolatier's, and people noticed the perfume across the room. It's very foody, very yummy. I'm a big fan of gourmands, so this is a definite hit. I haven't met anyone who hasn't liked this scent so far.

It does have a hint of Dubai chocolate, but this is more powdery pistachio vanille than pistachio chocolate. A gourmand take on Pistachio note. Cute and delicious. Very good sillage and longitivity. Wish they could make one with almond note.

Very pleasant but does not last on me. Opens with unmistakable caramel and fluffy marshmallows, the pistachio is a little powdery like in Yum P Gelato, and it smells like the airy sugar in Escapade Gourmand.

It was cute, but I won't get a full bottle. It was like the air walking into a chocolate shop, but never getting that real satisfaction.

Smells very creamy on strips but doesn’t seem to project very well on skin. Pretty good novelty scent.

2nd update: This has now sat for 9 months and I really like it. It is gentle and smooth now and I dont get the same reaction I initially got. I am very pleased! Update: On initial spray I was thrown back. I immediately started sneezing like crazy. I figured my nose would get used to it. Once it dried down I did like the smell, but I started to feel very queezy. I am so bummed. I finally decided to order this and I can't even wear it. This smells different than I expected. I definitely pick up the sesame. I just got it so I am hoping after some time macerating it will smell even better. I definitely like it. I layered with some Lost cherry and it smells good together. I love layering chocolate, pistachio and cherry notes together! Rate: 6/10

Not safe blind buy. It smells like old spoiled bitter pistachio cream with saggy waffles dipped in sesame oil which is unpleasant for my nose. I don't get any chocolate, any caramel, any vanilla or tonka ist not even a bit sweet. This scent is nothing like Dubai chocolate. I hope it will change after maturation but now it's heavy and synthetic. I can give it 1/10.

I was so disappointed with this one. I was hoping for something like Eclaire Pistache, but amped up. Unfortunately there is a savoury/salty note it this, that overpowers everything else, and if I’m honest, smells like pee. I just can’t get past it. 😩 It’s been sitting for two weeks and if anything, the sesame note has gotten stronger. This is not a safe blind buy.

Not a hit on my opinion. It starts off interesting with a nice pistachio note, but after a while some cereal-type notes come off. It's a bit too bakey-like almost like a prank, but it would be interesting to see how it works layered with another one

I dont know if I got a bad one but this just smells like burn buttered popcorn to me. Not getting any chocolate or Pistachio. I'm disappointed.

I mean, yeah, gourmand but I just wouldn't like these Colombina wafer chocolate smell on my skin, would work better as a home spray.

This is awful. It smells like baby powder pistachios. The sesame is not working and the other notes like caramel and chocolate are non-existent. I will come back and change my vote if it changes but it has been a month. Everybody probably knows its not good by now.

I really hated this fragrance. It smells very chemical-y at first. Eventually, it worked its way to a nutty note. I got almost no chocolate from it. It also just didn’t last on my skin! Very one dimensional, plain and bleh.

For reasons unknown, the quality of my bottle seems to have deteriorated significantly over time. During the initial 2-3 weeks, the fragrance radiated an exquisite creamy nutty aroma, redolent of Dubai chocolate, with projection that filled the air delightfully. However, after approximately a month's time, the scent has metamorphosed into a faint and disagreeable sugary odour that is neither sweet nor pleasant, as though it has spoiled entirely. This unfortunate turn of events has left me deeply disappointed, especially when considering the superior and more affordable alternative of Khadlaj Choco Brown, which outshines this fragrance by a factor of 1000%.

I just got this today. And I am a bit disappointed. There is something milky or lactonic on the dry down. I don’t like milky bases in scents. It is a very mild chocolate in my opinion. I thought it would be akin to Khadlaj Choco Brown. But it is not. I don’t know. I putting it in the back to age a bit more that I will come back to it. I will update my thoughts but for now. I am on the fence due that strong milky base.

This was a blind buy at TJ Maxx and I’m truly impressed by it. The smell is so good! It’s a very nutty fragrance, like seriously opening a bag of pistachios. I don’t get a lot of chocolate notes on skin. To me this is a cold weather fragrance, I think it could be cloying in hot temps. I haven’t had a change to wear it other than a test spray after buying but one spray lasted hours on my hand and projected well.

Layer this with mewish by paris corner and thank me later! There is something that makes this fragrance a bit flat or one dimensional and mewish is a perfect pistachio moneyed orange blossom almond fragrance. When you add them mewish makes this fragrance just omg. Thing me wish but more dessert and chocolate along w the honeyed orange blossom! Its amazing

Beast mode.. Almost no nutty or cocoa aroma to me. Mostly amber, patchouli (the screeching kind) and powder with some irritating florals.. leans heavily feminine. Something in it burns my nose and smells like cheap 'old lady' perfume... The even less expensive Milestone Dubai Cocoa (at TJ Maxx or Marshall's) is a much better and smoother alternative.

no joke, i got this for $3. i dont think i would wear this on its own, but would layer it with other fragrances. recently, i layered this with Montale's chocolate greedy and it smells HEAVENLY. i think its because the chocolate in Pistachio Kunafa is kinda faint but chocolate greedy elevates that note in a way?? ig this is why we layer! :D

This is a very nice gourmand pistachio/ pastry winter fragrance with a hint of cacao in the background. If you like fragrances by Jousset Parfums, you will like this fragrance.
