Smoky Wood

Although undeniably a high quality scent I was never the biggest fan of Sauvage Elixir. Smoky Wood goes into the direction of Sauvage Elixir, but makes it more wearable, a bit fresher, more uplifting and the quality of the blend is very good as with most Anfar fragrances (at least on par with most 80-100 dollar designer fragrances); if Sauvage Elixir is the still well-dressed pensioner with horn-rimmed glasses reading the newspaper in a slightly dusty library in the countryside, this is more like a handsome and sophisticated professional in his forties sitting with his laptop in a coffee bar in London's financial district. Maybe it's a batch thing, but my bottle is bordering on beast mode territory - my girlfriend could smell it 6 hours after application and she was still about 2 meters away from me. On clothes it lasts for days, absolutely no problem. Big compliment getter as well, but mainly from the 25+ crowd. A scent that I could easily wear 8 months a year here in Western Europe. Scent: 9.2/10 Performance 9.5/10 Presentation: 9/10 (stunning bottle with a wooden cap and excellent sprayer) Price: 10/10 (I paid 27 Euros. At this price it's very tempting to buy a second bottle!)

This is a Sauvage Elixir twist.....It retains all the elements but has that added sweetness which is being listed here as Caramel. There is a slight Absolu/CE nod, but it isn't prevalent, percentage wise I would say this is 80% powerhouse Elixir and 20% CE/Absolu(Which itself has elements of Elixir). It lasts 9 hours on skin and for my money a far superior choice than Lattafa Asad which has been hyped into a mythical beast mode and delivered 5 hours(has it been reformulated?) As a fan of the Elixir DNA, this comes off well compared to other "inspirations". Very very smooth. However....if you want 99% Elixir and 10 hours brute force....get Anfar's Saphiro. I have Sauvage Elixir, Saphiro, Smokey wood and a couple other Elixir clones, and back to back you can definitely smell the difference between Saphiro and Smoky wood. Do you need it? Depends on you and if you want a slight variation to your collection. I love it and will buy it again. Edit: 3 days in a row full wearing. 9 hours+ on skin and I will readjust my perceived balance. This is 50% Afnan Collectors edition/Absolu, and 50% Sauvage Elixir. Score 8.5/10!

This fragrance is truly impressive; it has a strong presence without being overwhelming, making it unlikely to annoy those around you. Its longevity is remarkable—while it may not match the intensity of Dior Elixir, it offers a refreshing and enjoyable scent. Unlike Dior, this fragrance doesn’t feature a powerful opening, which I personally prefer. I enjoy this fragrance so much that I like to keep it as a little secret since I receive numerous compliments when I wear it. In terms of longevity, I would rate it an 8/10. A single spray is sufficient; I have tested this, and others can still discern the scent on me well after application. I only needed a small sample to reapply, which speaks to its efficacy. As for sillage, I would give it a 7/10. Although it may not create an overwhelming presence, it does become more of a skin scent, which I appreciate. It remains noticeable enough that when people are close to you or pass by, they can identify it as your scent. This is a much masculine scent if you like a masculine scent that’s not sweet this is is the one.

Just received a bottle of this and straight out off the bat it is quite potent but once sprayed on skin it settles pretty quickly and once the dry down hits it is a fairly quiet scent. I'm going to give this one a few more pumps of the atomiser, then come back to it after a few weeks of oxidation in a dark drawer (that often does the trick). Other than that it is essentially Dior Sauvage Elixir, drying down to Dior Sauvage EDT/Creed Absolu Aventus. While it has a very 'familiar' feel it is a new take on those OGs. I think I shall enjoy wearing this one once it has matured. 👍

This one smells like Dior Sauvage Elixir. However, this one is more woody and less aromatic. Has a strong cedar/sandlewood note. Aromatics are there but less licorice and more woods in this one. Awesome caramel note to sweeten it up. Extrait concentration so this is long lasting but does not project as well as the og. Overall 8/10 well done and nicely blended.

First time I unboxed it smelled like sauvage elixir / asad. Now that I had it rested this is much more fresher/wearable take on DSE. This is amazing. 8.5/10 since I still yet to fully wear this one this week.

Another one I really like, I must stop buying things now though, my cupboard is over flowing. Woody, with some dark caramel. Is that a tiny hint of liquorice I can smell?

Since I got it ,it's been over 30 degrees Celsius where I live. It should be quite nice , really inexpensive fragrance ,for deep , rainy fall and winter.

Great one. Truely outstanding... longivity easy 8+ hours and sillage more tham 6ft. Very close to OG. Anfar never let me down.

Its a beautiful woody take on DSE

As the fragrance develops, it reveals its true structural strength—a robust woody base defined by a very distinct and gourmand licorice note. This heart is bolstered by a powerful, high-quality dose of ambroxan, which acts as a jet engine for the scent, pushing the aromatic profile out into the world with relentless projection and an impressive sillage trail. Overall, this is a woody, spicy, and aromatic fragrance that truly defines the modern standard for masculinity. It strikes a balance between rugged outdoor elements and polished urban elegance. This is an example of a dupe that may be better than the original.

Out of the 3 clones I have tried - Salvo Elixir (The freshest but with the shortest last, about 6 hours on skin) - Ighra'a (The most intense, darkest, and also with the longest last, about 10 hours on skin) - Smoky Wood (Between the other two, it is neither too bright nor as intense as Ighra'a, and has a longevity of about 7 hours on skin) Personal opinion I like Ighra'a most, most complex and best performance, followed by Salvo Elixir it's very fresh, smelling like an Irish Spring bar soap, and finally Smoky Wood. Actually, this was the one I had the highest expectations for and wanted to buy first, not the other two, because I have owned a few Anfar bottles and they are very good, but it turns out Smoky Wood is only decent; it is not bad, but it is not excellent either. The problem with Smoky Wood and Anfar in general is the lack of character. Smoky Wood is not a bad scent, but it lacks distinctiveness; the opening is quite good, but as it settles, it becomes bland and lacks the highlights that the other two have. To date, Vague and Zenit Nomad remain the two best and most worth-buying Anfar fragrances in my opinion.

Had it for a week. I have no idea why are infleucers saying this is a mix of sauvage elixir and absolu aventus. There is nothing aventus-y about this. It's pure sauvage elixir, although less strong. Scammed by curlyfragrance once again. Are they paying those influencers to say stuff outright wrong? There is nothing fruity about this fragrance. Performance is lackluster as well. Waste of money if you have Lattafa Asad
