Absolute Oriental

This is more of a rose floral than an oriental or even floriental. Jammy rose, a touch of vanilla sweetness, sandalwood and patchouli. It's a familiar rose/patchouli profile that's been done to death these past few year, but this one is quite nice. It's smooth and pleasant, and the rose is not too sweet which I appreciate. For around $30 for 100mL, I'd classify this as a hidden gem cheapie. This certainly deserve way more recognition.

Plummy sweet rose on the initial blast, mellows to a patchouli and saffron rich scent with nice sillage. I'd like to try this with Noir de Noir, very similar DNA

Surprised this isn't getting much love! It's Excellent! Maybe because it was not highlighted as an OUD fragrance: Top Notes: Bergamot, Freesia, Osmanthus Heart Notes: Peony, Rose, Saffron Base notes: Oud, Vanilla, Patchouli, Musk, Sandalwood, Vetiver Nose: Fabrice Pellegrin I danced around this fragrance for a couple of months, couldn't find much reviews on it anywhere, then decided I would take my chances, solely because I already have the Oriental Soul from the same house and it's exceptionally TOP quality, so I thought what the heck! how bad can it be.. And it's REALLY REALLY good! It opens up in a strong bombastic incensy way, but this only lasts for 10 minutes, then the OUD, Rose, Spices (Patchouli/Saffron) appear. The quality of the OUD here is exactly the same as in Alien OUD as if they're getting it from the same supplier.. Then after a couple of hours it turns into a beautiful woody Rose, but not just any rose, what I smell here is the glorious Taif Rose. The same one in L'Extase Rose Absolue Nina Ricci. The dry down lasts for quite a few hours. I would categorize it as unisex. Overall, this is Excellent Quality and Scent, I wouldn't shy away from blind buying from this house again.

Firstly, to say this isn't a reliable review in that I've only tried it on a card. But...it's my next purchase. I love Terryfic Oud, but never bought it as it smells a bit too sweaty for England. This has all the dignity and depth without the sweaty note (cumin?). It's still a very strong, confident, heady, boozy, over-ripe fragrance,and well blended, so much so that I can't pick out individual notes, except to say I'm getting a gourmand vanilla eque note which I think is saffron, probably one of the reasons I like Terryfic Oud. Funny, could have sworn I smelt hibiscus/tea in here, as it's also similar to Scent Intense by Costume National. Imagine- a dusty Spanish villa, evening sun shining through a medieval window on a bowl of overripe peaches, a sherry glass tipped over and smashed on the dark wood table top. Heady flower fragrances waft over the still life, a horse whinnies in the distance.

I bought this one about 6 yrs ago, cheap and in sure discontinued and forgot about it. Wow this one isn't too bad, smells kind of strong but it's not but mid note goes into a beautiful flowery with hint of patchouli which isn't strong. Whoever said this was a hidden surprise was correct and got compliments. Might be eau de toilet but it lingers nicely, good use during a winter day in australia, could be good in evening but it doesn't get beast notes dry down. Wow this is a hidden ninja

Typical Vanilla based perfume. Nothing special! Reminds me of the Vanilla mist i got from boots.
