Animale Intense

I am fairly new to collecting and I prefer to take the road less traveled, Animale intense for me is not so intense but a soft calming fragrance. And oh, I also get like a lipstick-y kind of a vibe with this one for the whole duration of it staying on my skin.

Weaksauce, can’t touch Animale. Nothing intense, Maybe Animale extreme intense will be better.

Released in 2014, along with the Sport version and without any disclosure, it hit the market causing doubts about its originality (real or fake) and origin. In theory, it should be a more intense version of the original scent (1993). But it's not! In fact, the concept of intensity has been lost in recent releases that bring more power in one or another note, but not in the final result of the fragrance, which would be ideal. In the composition, notes of Apple, ginger and Ozonic nuances, in the head; Cedar leaves, basil, and sage, in the body; Suede, amber, and Brazilian redwood, in the base. I couldn't find the correct information of which type is the wood, i.e. can be Redwood, Canjerana, Red Angelim, etc. On the skin, the result is fruity and citrusy at the beginning, with the typical scent of fragrances that carry ginger in the head. The apple note tricks and confers a certain “nighttime” style, but not lingers, obviously. The aromatic part that follows is fantastic and very pleasant, but not convincing. And at the end of the story, which helps to keep the scent on the skin for longer, is the note of amber. For someone who always had reason to praise the other fragrances of the House, I confess that my encounter with Animale Intense was intensely disappointing, no pun intended. On my skin, stop exuding after 30 minutes, getting too close, although it remained well for about 6 hours. The bottle was the part I liked the most, because it kept the visual identity of the line, with red glass and shiny red dots on the plastic part, which are almost imperceptible. To sum up: it is a cologne for those who collect and enjoy the brand, but not worth the effort and expectation we create around the name.

This one seems to take time before you get any strength, perhaps 15-20 minutes. It's a kind of "dark" fruity scent, certainly not weak, borderline "chemical," so while I can tolerate it, some may not. There is clear sweetness, and I would not think of it as fresh, aquatic, sporty, etc. It's rather blended together so there isn't much in the way of individual notes. A 100 ml bottle cost me next to nothing so I am not disappointed. I thought it might smell similar to Spirited by Perry Ellis, but in that one the wood note that emerges is much stronger and it dries the scent out. Nothing like Animale Animale for Men nor Animale for Men, IMO. Good for the beginner who is just branching out into more unusual scents, perhaps, especially if the price is under $10 or so. UPDATE: The strength seems to dissipate significantly after 1 to 2 hours.

I got a bottle of Animale Intense recently. Being a big fan of the original Animale Animale, I just had to try it. Personally, I was not too impressed with it. It has a tanginess ending on a heavy sandalwood quality that bears little resemblance to Animale Animale (which, on reflection, I don't think this is supposed to be a direct flanker of: Of their collection, there's "Animale" (which I haven't tried) and "Animale Animale" (have it and love it)...and perhaps the Intense version is a flanker of the former, not the latter). I won't accuse the company of false advertising, just a bit confusing I guess! (Therefore, I hope to see "ANIMALE ANIMALE INTENSE" very very soon, LOL!)....oh man, my head is spinning now. 8^I
