So I'm new to Chypres; I grew up in the sickly sweet, marshmallow and whipped cream and strawberries gourmand era, so testing these retro perfumes is a whole new and exciting experience for me. Of the few throwbacks I've tried that I'd consider to be "vintage smelling" I've yet to find one that really gets me excited (except maybe Tabu). I wasn't sure about Animale at first, but she's starting to grow on me. Also I'm not gonna lie, what mostly drew me to buy this was the beautiful, very 80s-styled bottle. Animale is very similar to Paloma EDP, but with more rose, which is what really excites me about this scent - I find rose suits my chemistry amazingly well. The drydown's very musky-mossiness and some patchouli. Kind of a sexy scent actually. Animale lasts well over 8 hours on me, and has moderate sillage. This is very heavy though so I really gotta be in the mood! ETA: In love with the dry down of this one, so musky, earthy and rosey! And it still smells so strong on my clothes over 12hrs later. When I'm in the mood for a loud chypre I go straight for this one, especially over Paloma Picasso. Update #2: Animale Animale has now become my new signature. I am so completely in love. It has everything I've been looking for; it only took about 90 different perfumes to figure it out lol It lasts for days on my clothes/scarves and is such a warm, classy and comforting scent to me, all the while being sexy and alluring. It also definitely stands out among other modern fragrances being released today. The best part is that it is so affordable and also comes in 200ml format. This is really the best

Brash, hard, tough, take no prisoners. This is a vulgar fragrance. And I mean that in a good way. As in Dominatrix take no prisoners. Well, Doms take prisoners, only they call them slaves. And that's what others will be if you use this fragrance correctly. Mosses, patchouli and civet assault you. Spices and woods closely weave in and out. The recipient has no idea what is enveloping them. Animale reaches into primal tendencies and pulls them out. Muskiness is only a backdrop to the other heavy notes. This is a cocky attitude chypre of magnitude. You know what you want and who you are when you wear it. You walk with strength and others follow. Your mantra? Did I say I care? Because this perfume takes captives whether that's your intention or not. It opens eyes and minds to your bidding. Michael Hutchence of INXS sings "Here comes the woman, with the look in her eye Raised on leather, with flesh on her mind Words as weapons, sharper than knives Makes you wonder, how the other half die? And that pretty much explains Animale. A strong-willed perfume. Be very careful in application and where you wear it. This frag lasts until you take it off. A reminder for those who wear it-don't forget your crop and handcuffs.

I am a firm fan of the strongest chypres out there. My skin needs strong scents to expect any longevity or sillage at all. So while some will be quite naturally overwhelmed by Animale, I feel that I am meeting a warm and familiar friend. The primary notes noticable on my skin seem to be Oakmoss, Rose, and Coriander. Civet and honey are honestly so subtle for me that they are invisible supporting beams, balancing out an otherwise spare structure. On others the animalic notes will conquer and perhaps even overwhelm, but for me this is simplicity and natural balance itself. Wearing Animale in the warm autumn sunshine today brought to mind a lovely image of a garden. Not a perfect rose garden, but a working vegetable garden hedged by healthy rose bushes. My imaginary garden is a work in progress, with busy workers actively digging in the fertile earth, surrounded by green plants in various stages of growth. You can almost SMELL the dirt itself, along with the seeds and the palpable warmth of the sun. To me, that is Animale in a nutshell.... Conclusion: As with any classic chypre, proceed with caution. Not recommended as a blind buy. But a wonderful vintage treat for those of us fed to the teeth with IFRA restrictions! Sillage - moderate, after the initial powerful blast :) Longevity - also moderate ( at least on me ) Price - moderate to low, depending on where you live

DIOS SANTO. Estuve realmente esperando este perfume como un niño a la Navidad. La primera atomización no fue potente pero luego mas siguientes dos fueron tallos verdes de rosa y una especie de licor que quemó mi nariz, me alejé sorpresivamente. Me acerqué nuevamente y pude sentir un clavel y una rosa señorial enjaulada por notas verdes y cítricas, además se siente como si estuviesen posadas en maderas masculinas. Este perfume es una Paloma Picasso custodiada de maderas alimonadas. Tuve la oportunidad de probar el tan nombrado Angel de Mugler, y se queda chico a comparación de esta vestia. Animale conserva sus primeros 40 minutos igual a la primera atomización, lo apliqué en la sala y llenó de punta a punta. A unos 7 metros, curiosamente, le siento un deje a colonia de bebé alimonada, atalcada y también al plástico de antiguas muñecas de hule. La estela es buenísima, de hecho me siento abrazado por ella. Este es un perfume mucho más masculino que femenino, ¡MUCHA PRECAUCIÓN CON LAS ATOMIZACIONES! Increíblemente a los 5 min se siente como una patada baja en el estómago. Definitivamente se siente como un perfume que sería una bomba nuclear en invierno, esperaré. Estela: 9/10 Fijación: 10/10 Versátil: 7/10 de tarde noche en adelante Lo volvería a comprar: DEFINITIVAMENTE!

I asked my brother to get this for me as a blind buy, but after reading the reviews l knew I’d enjoy because l enjoy chypres, like Aromatics Elixir, Halston and Youth Dew. Upon first smell, this was definitely not what l thought it would be; l was pleasantly surprised! This was surprisingly heavy on the rose, which l LOVE, and couldn’t quit smelling! It smells rather clean in the opening, and then l get the dirtier orris root, civet and incense, similar to Aromatics Elixir. This is a total win for me! I sprayed this on, stayed overnight at the hospital with my grandmother (she fell), and the next morning, even though l could no longer smell it, either through being anosmic or it just faded, a CNA came in and said someone smells delicious! It’s summer now; I’ll be curious to see what this lovely juice does during fall/winter! This will definitely forevermore be in my collection!♥️♥️ EDIT: I normally can’t wear a fragrance longer than a couple of days because my nose gets so bored with scents, but this l’ve been wearing for two weeks straight and my nose isn’t tired of it at all! It’s pretty much everything l ever wanted in a perfume: powdery, rose, soapy, spicey, soft yet projects...l’ve gotten loads of compliments on it! I can see this being my signature fragrance!

Fyi, i don't own any women's perfumes, although i do like to make reviews on them based on what I've smelled on other people and so the ladies can get stuff from a male point of view. Personally, this fragrance is very "Animale" indeed. Very woodsy and natural. I also get a slight smoky, rose, blueberry muffin and woolite laundry detergent smell which I like. I have smelled this on several other women including my mom and it suited them well. It runs in the same line with Paloma Picasso and Halston. Like this, Halston, and Paloma Picasso, it smells like it could be unisex, in fact I wish this were unisex because i would definitely wear it. The age bracket id say this fits in would be 25 and up. Actually any woman as long as they're brave and confident enough. It's nice to smell women's scents that don't smell water melon cotton candy or cupcakes. I have smelled the women's Animale Animale that has the purple cap and it smells pretty much exactly like Amarige De Givenchy (another smell I adore on women). I have the men's Animale Animale and I love it (check my reviews folder for review). From a guy's point of view this is a jaw dropper.

WOW this one is truly lives up to its name - ANIMALE! I bought the non-spray EDP and tried 1 drop on my skin and hell... the scent was fantastic! This is a rose chypre with amazingly strong oakmoss-rose I ever smells... so you just need a drop unless you transfer this to atomizers on which I did and I tried spraying on my nape & behind ears each 1 spray - the sillage was MONSTER! I must say you need to be cautious not to overspray to avoid nausea. This one could be unisex for men that loves rose scent cos it mixes well with oakmoss, it does smells masculine. This fragrance to my nose is quite linear - rose-oakmoss-civet all the way , it mixes so well you can't detect other notes but if I let the scent on my skin without washing til the next day I could smell the skanky civet! HAHA I totally loves civet scent but others won't so alas I have to wash away. Wear this fragrance if you know you love classic chypre or don't care what ppl say or just need something crazy. And importantly do not over apply! longevity - 10 projection - 10 unique - 10

I have recently acquired a vintage 100ml bottle of this which has been aged well, this on my skin is a blend of Knowing, Halston and Valentino Vendetta (which is my fave), Knowing is too cool for me but this has warmer notes which makes it wearable on me, Halston is too sharply patchouli/soapy on my chemistry but this is more refined and subtle, all put together they remind me of a love child of Ungaro Diva which was too green and too much oakmoss for my chemistry, there is heaps of oakmoss here but well blended into the sandalwood and galbanum. I totally get the animalic qualities in this scent, I get leathery patchouli lots of incense not quite hippy but still raw and primal with overtures of honey and carnation. Its definitely 80's but my skin can handle it. Wonderfully garish bottle makes me smile each time I hold it. Definitely not for the faint hearted but if you have always wanted to pull off Knowing but it never sits quite right I would give this a try!

dear DRUGSTORE CLASSICS ̈, i read your review and let me tell you the Animale perfume i had when i was a teenager was the original Animale, the one with the green cap. I live in Mexico so i can find this perfume here and I recently bought it because I liked it very much the first time I owned it... I've never smelled the other Animale Animale perfume, the one with the purple cap but maybe someday I will try it. This Animale is so sweet, to me it smells a lot of honey with a subtle touch of spice I just can't describe it, this perfume is so delicious and sweet and it lasts forever, I can even feel the smell of perfume on my cloths the day after... the bottle looks very '80s style but I don't care about it, I'll buy another bottle after this one. Thanks for giving me your opinion on my review.

Let me say first that I wore this perfume in the '90's, so must've been reformulated later, although it still smells very close to the original to me. To me, it's like Clinique Aromatics Elixir of the '80's in its power and personality. The price was always very good but is now unbelievable for such a powerful chypre... I still love this well blended perfume. All the things you love about a classic but it's NOT a safe blind buy. Because it's not sweet, fruity or marshmallow, the young girls will find no use for this. This is perfume for a grown woman. The florals, woods and spices are the kind that want as you walk by, leaves a lovely trail. The down side is that maybe this isn't for the office, as it can be headache inducing to the sensitive folks. Or use a light hand.

I love Animale.The bottle is so 80's and the scent is bold yet lovely. I use it as a room spray when I'm feeling nostalgic and it instantly transports me back in time. Animale is from an era when women weren't afraid to be originals. Animale smells like a headstrong,classy individual who also knows how to kick her feet up and smile. It would have gone perfectly with red lips, shoulder pads, black stockings and pumps. I am almost out and plan to repurchase. EDIT: Had to review again. Wore this today around the house. Animale is like walking into a room in a tight black dress, walking a jaguar on a chain and wearing a cobra around your neck. It’s a bold scent, sexy and shocking. Totally over the top but... I love this scent.

This gorgeous rose chypre is one of my favorite perfumes. Striking and complex, it reminds me of a more playful, less civet-heavy version of Ungaro's Diva, which I also love. Although I'm currently wearing Animale in winter, it smells like the summer of my dreams: haunting and sultry evenings on the brink of storm. There's a hint of danger in this perfume. It smells like expectations: expectations that could lead to illicit affairs, or perhaps midnight murders in a rose garden behind a gothic mansion. Warm, woody, musky, adventurous, and mysterious with a touch of smoke, there's nothing tame about this perfume. Watch out, these roses roar! If you love chypres or 80s powerhouse scents, you owe it to yourself to try this.

Animale is one of my forever scents. I recalled first seing the 1980s magazine ads when I was a little girl and I wondered how savage it would be with it's 80s sporty graphic designed bottle. I've compared Animale to scents like Charlie, Liz Claiborne, Aromatics Elixir, and Rumba, to which I thought it smelled more refreshing with the coriander yet sweet and bold like these fragrances. This scent would smell great at an airconditioned party or where you want to proudly stand out (not at work or the gym). I don't yet own Paloma Picasso or Diva, but I'd gladly collect these perfumes because these were voted to be similar to Animale.

Appropriately named, A. does smell a little "glandy". Not in a bad way, just intensely animal. The oakmoss keeps A. from getting too skunky, and the overall impression is of a lighter Aromatics Elixir. A. has the oily quality of that fragrance, but is not as complex or pricey. Sillage and lasting power is moderate, on me the scent sinks deep into the skin and waits to be discovered. This may not be a fragrance to apply with abandon, but a few dabs/drops here and there will be fine at work. Not particularly feminine, A. should work well on men; there is a men's version of the scent.

This is my favorite scent I've ever found. I can smell a rich, smooth stab of honey, a bit of rose, a bit mossy and powdery underneath, and something just exotic and luxurious. It's hard to separate individual notes, but it just smells absolutely perfect all the way through, and I can't get enough of it. It sounds like I'm an outlier here, but I wish it lasted longer, though I am still pretty happy with how long it lasts. And I don't feel it's too strong at all as I can get my nose right up in it and love every second of it. And I feel like it isn't too gendered of a scent.

best best best vintage perfume. love this Chypre a lot. fresh, sour and sharp. very delicate and delicious not typical gourmand perfume that smells like birthday cake. this is exactly remain me of Cartier La Panthere (2014). Oooh it's so so me. got it from my vintage supplier for only $17 for 50ml.it is really resemblance the 80's vintage style. big gold chain necklace and earrings, red lips, coco chanel and dior dress, black heels. wear this on a cold rainy days while listening to Anita Baker's songs. just my perfect January. love it..definitely will repurchase

What an absolute gem this is! So beautiful in cool to cold weather like right now in Canada. The vetiver, oakmoss, honey and rose at the forefront are heavenly. And the sweet-fruits are there, but stay in the background, although you know they are there. This fragrance packs a nice punch and lasts for hours, unlike many of the rather weak, insipid, overpriced offerings coming out in today's market. I hope this never gets discontinued. I have only a small bottle presently. I absolutely NEED the largest size backup bottle. It's a total love for me.

This one is indeed a true classic, this fragrance will arrive earlier than you, the sillage is huge, i wear it sometimes and people already know when im coming like meters away, i think its a bold and challenging choice nowadays we are in the sweet era, its an amazing floral and harsh civet scent, beautiful, its like youre in a forest full of flowers and honey, and you got sprayed by a skunk. Check it in stores if possible before blind buy, and if you already did, let it sit for a while and wear it casually, the scent will grow on you.

I love this! I’ve got the vintage formulation and it’s divine! It’s a less annoying version of Aromatics as it has resinous depth and it’s not all up in the air with the highly-strung aldehydes. It’s also less raisiny and headstrong than Paloma Picasso and much less Diva-ish than the flamboyant Diva. It lasts, it’s strong (but manages the right balance of statement with wearability) and it’s clean without being mean. This could be my signature. I’m going to carry on wearing it and will elaborate soon.

just got this today,,,, could smell it before i opened THE BOX.....as soon as i sprayed it i was instantly magically transported back in time to the 80's....when perfumes were big and loud and unapologetically in your face....when the Ladies Lounge on the 5th floor at Nordstrom came with ladies in attendance and Leather and Velvet couches and glasses of Champagne....your fragrance needed to be as big as your SHOULDER PADS and this one is right on the money....i love this one ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!

Yesssss. I've been backfilling my collection with some classic fragrances from decades of yore and I finally pulled the trigger and blind bought this one. Oh, sweet chypre gods, this is everything I love about the late 80s. Minxy with winged eyeliner and shoulder pads. Or black vinyl and stiletto knee-high boots and Siouxsie Sioux makeup. I've smelled expensive niche chypres that don't quite scratch the chypre itch like this one does. I am madly in love.

my mom gave me this when i was 14... i remember it was a bit loud but delicious and i can't remember how it smells so i would like to get a new bottle of this and give it a try. i'm looking for a strong and delicious scent (i love dior addict and hypnotic poison which are very long lasting and strong fragrances) so i definitely want to try this one again because i remember this is a very long lasting perfume

If you're here to review the version of Animale in the mostly pink/purple bottle, with the fruity notes - this is the wrong spot. It's under Animale Animale (1994) currently one down from this in the brand's index. This one is listed only as Animale (1987) Confused yet? :P They're two quite different scents. Maybe this is where Dior got the idea to name so many different perfumes Miss Dior Cherie..

Such an exotic perfume. Simply one of the best fragrances I have ever smelt in my life. I hope they make this forever! Definitely not low-key, this is an attention grabber and jumps out as soon as you open the box. All the right amounts of warmth, spice, fruit, powder, florals and nostalgia. Very much worth having in your collection, even if it is over the top (it is COMPLETELY over the top!)

Great discovery last year. I was about to get Animale for men. I like chypres so l got this instead. This is 100% unisex and unique for a man to wear. I have no regrets. This is a very good fragrance that lasts a long time and it reminds me of classic style chypres and green scents like Gucci #3, Ungaro Diva and Coriandre - all with some masculine components. Both genders gave me compliments

This smells amazing on my mom. I wish I could pull of the fragrances she wears. I had a young male friend who obsessed over this smell on my mom. No he wasn't attracted to her he just was attracted to the scent. Idk I guess it's skin chemistry. She can wear heavier perfumes and they smell great on her. I'm stuck with the fresh, unisex or sweet perfumes. I feel boring lol

Reminds me SO much of Diva Pepite. A bit more rough and loud, not as dainty and elegant as Diva. The dry down offers a heavy dose of honey and ylang ylang. Its one of those fragrances the closer you sniff to your skin the harsher it is. It wafts Beautifully, however. This is complex, loud, confident, and stunning. Cold weather ready. I have the 6.8oz bottle.

I visited my sister while wearing this. I stayed for a couple of hours and talked with her. But when I decided to go i guess this perfume decided it didn't want to leave and stuck around at my sister's house for 7 days after I left. Trust me I know, Elora called me 2 weeks later complaining that her livingroom reeked for a week

i recently bought this one, trying to remember the past... this fragrance is very very sweet and intense, i love it!! at first i thought i wouldn't like it but on the second time i tried it i liked it. i feel it a little bit scipy but sweet at the same time and it lasts for hours, just as much as those expensive fragrances

Just bought this and I LOVE it. A gorgeous, floral chypre, very well-balanced, just enough oakmoss. The only problem is that on me it's a skin scent! Where is this beast everyone else is talking about? Maybe my bottle is defective? It does say "Made in Panama" on it...regardless, it's a wildly affordable, beautiful scent.

I like it. Has a middle eastern scent to it. Wearing it, I think night shopping in the suq of Morocco n I think Kate Winslet in Hideous Kinky. I have a overwhelming urge to wear that blue dress Kate Winslet wore in the movie. I need that simple blue dress and bag she wore throughout the whole entire movie lol

Oh, how I Looooooove Animale. She is not for everyone, yet I cannot help but adore her unabashedly. After smelling Animale, here's a simple summary from a dear friend: "B*tchy Rose!" Or, for those familiar with it's more sophisticated cousin: Coriandre - on Steroids :D

Oh wow! I read Miguel's article about this so ordered it online. This is a wonderful chypre. Reminiscent but not totally aligned with the accords of Aromatics Elixer, La Perla, and Coriandre. It's invigorating and almost therapeutic, like a brisk walk in fresh air.

Is a scent full of facets at the same time is sweet, floral, woody, animalic, resinous. Very 80's, so opulent, warm, extravagant, reminds me Aromatics Elixir. In the summer may not be a good experience. For those not seeking perfume-scented candy's

If you like Paloma Picasso, Couturier Coriandre, Jovan Woman, Ungaro Diva, EL Knowing, or Montana Peau Intense, chances are that you will enjoy Animale. I REALLY love the scent--it has all the best of my favorite chypres in lovely proportions.

its a love hate relation with animal..it is a very animalic scent s its name suggests..very provocative..very sexy but not refined its a vulgar perfume that plays on the basic instincts of animals! it reminds me of Art DE Gucci.

I can totally confuse it with Armani Code for Women, except Animale Isn't as "warm" as Armani Code. There is definately something similar. I think I do smell Carnation. Love it for Fall/Winter.

Magnificent fragrance, over-the-top, bombastic, and intimidating. Like being sprayed by a skunk, it will clear elevators and get folks to get out of the way. Absolutely fantastic.

Beautiful beast with a great sillage. Animalic chypre, honeyish, and a bit woody. I’m quite sure i smell Coriander by Jean Couture here. Love the retro bottle!

Update - Sisley Soir De Lune smells pretty close My dad bought this for my mom when it first debuted in the 80s. I was around 9 or 10 and I remember how dark and funky it smelled compared to what my mom usually wore—Giorgio Beverly Hills and Beautiful were her standbys — and she absolutely hated Animale, possibly using words like “disgusting” or “ugh” after that first spray on christmas (he always gifted her perfume). My Dad, on the other hand, loved it, and was highly disappointed that she didn’t. As for me, let’s just say that I have no scent memory of either Giorgio or Beautiful except “yellow flower” but I REMEMBER EVERYTHING ABOUT ANIMALE TO THIS DAY. The name, bottle, and notes as they each unfold throughout the many hours it lingers. And I don’t know how long she had it on her vanity before she got rid of it, but while she had it I tried to use it. It is so potent and was so hard to hide. I wish I’d taken that bottle. I did not know this was still in production until I randomly saw it on fragrance net tonight and I am moments away from buying, but a little scared it won’t be as I remember it. I see references to Paloma Picasso in comments and above and curious about folks thinking they’re similar. I will have to compare them once I get to smell Animale again. I remember Animale being very woody and much sweeter, probably from the cassis, with some flowers in the background; Picasso is all resin and musk and is pretty linear - whereas Animale one unfolds through the 24 hours it stays with you. One review mentions this is basically Sisley’s Soir de Lune - I just blind bought a bottle of it and haven’t had a chance to try it yet. I am pleasantly surprised to hear they may be similar, although I'm not sure i want to smell the Sisley first. i am not surprised that there are so many people who started wearing this in the 80s and never stopped. It’s definitely a signature. It is the quintessential Floriental. Chypre fans must try - i don’t know if I’d recommend anyone blind buy this one, but it’s definitely worth dipping your toe in.

(PORTUGUESE) O cheiro de coriandro me faz lembrar muito o Coriandre, um perfume muito clássico que não é mais encontrado no Brasil, preciso mandar trazer de fora. A diferença é que Animale tem um toque mais doce que 'quebra' o tom mais seco do Coriandre. Lembra também um pouco o Agent Provocatour, mas com menos 'safadeza' kkkkk...É um perfume pra quem não gosta dos doces, gosta dos perfumes mais 'azedos' e não falo do azedo cítrico, e essa característica faz muita gente torcer o nariz para perfumes assim. Apenas mulheres fortes e sensuais conseguem carregar este perfume; frágeis, delicadas, juvenis(não me refiro a idade cronológica)não conseguirão exprimir o que são através dele, se sentirão 'agredidas'. (ENGLISH) The smell of coriander reminds me a lot Coriandre a very classic scent that is no longer found in Brazil, must have them bring out. The difference is that Animale has a touch sweeter than 'break' the tone drier Coriandre. Remember also somewhat Agent Provocatour, but with less 'naughtiness' kkkkk ... It's a perfume for those who do not like candy, like perfumes more 'sour' and not speak of sour citrus, and this feature makes many people twist the nose for perfumes as well. Only strong and sexy women can carry this perfume; fragile, delicate, youthful (I do not mean chronological age) will not be able to express what they are through it, feel 'battered'.

Wowsers!!! Received this from the US today. I sprayed myself as I do with most atomisers - 2 blasts on the neck and one on each wrist and since then I've felt like I'm a walking, talking bottle of perfume! This stuff is strong! I sprayed too much! The sillage is awesome. I will stick to just one spray from now on if wearing in company. It's a gorgeous perfume, a proper powerhouse of a perfume that packs a punch. A couple of people have remarked that it reminds them of Magie Noire. On my skin it doesn't smell anything like Magie Noire (nothing beats Magie Noire vintage in my opinion) - it's not as warm and sensual as MN. Someone else mentioned it's like Paloma Picasso - nope not getting that either on my skin. It does remind me of another perfume that I either have or have had but cannot put my finger on which one. If I do I will update. This perfume is a bold chypre and the woody accords and patchouli are very prominant. It's not for the faint hearted, it's not sweet. I'm saying what it's not because I'm struggling to say what it is! Big and bold is what it is! I like a perfume that makes me go WOW! So yes I like it. I also get a scent of fresh tea leaves coming through! Update: finally figured out what this perfume reminds me of that I have and its Acqua Di Parma Magnolia Nobile.

I got the Parlux distributed vintage version of this perfume from gray market. Smooth yet loud at the same time. Opens with the mossy spicy kichen sink of notes (in a good way). Later, after 1 hour. the opening dries down to sweet combination of floral with the honey and civet that last until the sweet musky and mossy drydown. The Animalic notes that this fragrance has is the combination of urine and honey that are prominent towards the whole fragrance phase until the dry down, which for me is kind of addicting.and the honey is just sweet enough to balance the other notes. The other noticeable things are the oakmoss, it doesn't have that fresh oakmoss but oakmoss that are combined with sweet and musky notes creating a lush feeling to it. The version that i have is quite strong, it last 10 - 12 hours at most. while on clothes it last 2 days at most forming a cloud of scent anywhere near you. Its doesn't have a nuclear projection but it projects consistently through the phase of this fragrance. I can imagine a guy wearing this (im a guy and loving this perfume), because it doesn't have that powdery scent to it. but it leans a bit feminine. Don't get turn down by the crass bottle, its an amazing urinous chypre fragrance.

Very, very close to Paloma Picasso's Paloma Picasso and to Lancôme Magic Noire This goes on your cleavage, not your wrists. And so is for certain occasions>>>>, not a movie date. It is come hither not Sunday in the park or meeting with the boss. Vulgar is not in my vocabulary for this or its mentioned above similars. Basic instinct is more like it. Yes, don't use a lot. Often with strong things like this, I spray on a cotton ball, apply and throw the cotton ball so it is the base that goes on me. No need to suffocate anyone To me, it is of course a chypre, straight up, rose is lost on me. It settles sweet on me. And not rancid. Old time, 80s, yes on both. But not all things under these categories is bad. I would choose any of these three mentioned to try these type of notes. Be careful with samples, I have experienced that samples for these stronger types of fragrances turn bad or acidic when decanted (for me was Fracas and Joy)

Great blind buy. Try perfume on skin and give it some time. Animale is for me slightly soapy, green scent with animalic sweet notes (but not pissy). It's perfect for summer days, because it reminds me dry mediterranean herbs, with drop of flowers. For me it's likes mix of Soir de Lune (which contain too much honey for me) and Jacomo Silences or Chanel No.19 + smooth sweet civet. Animale is really complex frangnance. Easy to wear for me. EDIT: After week of wearing Animale I recognized that - sweet note isn ́t civet, but really strong jasmine. After some time jasmine started to be really indolic, I don ́t like it too much. :/ Longevity is good, but sillage could be little bit better. EDIT II: This perfume is best for hot weather. Jasmine isn ́t indolic, everything work together. So I started like it again, I will wear it in summer time.

Just bought this from my trusted mall perfume shop. There was one bottle of edp tucked away in a glass case that was stuffed with oldies/goodies. This one was made in USA in 2015. First impression: smells a lot like Jean Couturier Coriandre, and dries to a rosy dry woody floral, somewhat reminiscent of the dryness of the last Aromatics Elixir (since 2013) but animalic like Paloma Picasso. Overall, happy with my purchase, it doesn't seem like it will last long on skin, a little soapy within minutes, but I spray my clothes too, we shall see. Pretty good, sexy, totally my type of chypre!
