Dolly Girl Bonjour L'Amour

Hi everyone, I said a few months ago that I was so sad that I could no longer get Anna Sui's wonderful perfume on any cosmetics site in the world or on a secondhand market. But not today!!!! I got this wonderful perfume from a used market in Korea, with more than 80% of 30ml bottles left!!!! *More surprisingly, the seller who sold this to me said he had one more bottle of this 30ml bottle, and on the condition that he took over the empty bottle of this (she only collects empty bottles of perfume, my God! How could that happen?) He promised to sell me the remaining bottle. She's a real angel. Don't you think I really used all my luck in this life? Honestly, I thought that the memory of this (the memory of this was the last time in 2007) was so exaggerated (glorified) until November 2021 (i.e., between 14 years). However, it was not exaggerated at all. It remained the same as the scent of 2007. I reunited this perfume at my workplace today for the first time in 14 years, and I really had to be grateful that I was wearing a mask (for the purpose of preventing COVID-19 infection). Because as soon as I smelled the scent, I was smiling like a perv in the mask.^0^ This is too sweet, still. It is still too sweet and similar to the scent of Korean ice cream named Melona. (It is an ice cream that advocates the "melon" taste, but the actual added scent is said to be close to the green grape scent.) If you spray it on your wrist and breathe lightly, the sweet scent of something like tuberose, green grapes, melons, and peaches that is really enchanting stimulates your nose. It is too sweet and stays on the ceiling of the mouth even if you stop breathing for a while. Hm... Too much stimulating sweetness. However, it is definitely not a cheap fruit candy, lip gloss scent, or fruit soda scent. I keep taking the scent of Korean ice cream called Melona as an example with a similar scent to this, but on second thought, it doesn't seem to be similar at all!! The scent of the ice cream is a simple mixture of vanilla, green grapes, and a little melon, so it is absolutely not a combination of these enormous tuberose or peach scents. If you inhale the scent deeper, you can feel the bitter taste behind the larynx. It is probably Musk. But even that is incredibly sweet. Even Musk feels incredibly sweet. Its reverberation is similar to the first scent, but it also remains very faint. A faint sweet scent... Ah... I deeply lament my limitation of not being able to express the beauty of this perfume in language!!! And Anna Sui should regret discontinuing this as soon as it was released in 2007. And also Anna Sui should be sorry for me for the rest of her life. Because I love this scent all my life and I will miss it even in the grave later. My angelic seller promised me, that he would sell me the same perfume for the remaining bottle of this on the condition that I would be taken over. But I'm so afraid. Because at the moment I exhausted the last drop of this enchanting perfume, what if something inevitable happens to my angel-like seller and she disappears? Or what if she suddenly moved abroad and I didn't know that? Or what if she no longer wants to trade goods in the secondhand market and withdraws from the secondhand trading site? Or what if she suddenly gets bored with everything in the world and moves into a deep mountain where the Internet is no longer available?T0T Oh...I like delusions so much that I fall into a swamp of delusions alone again. So I'm going to cherish it so much...or find a way to transfer its liquid to a completely different bottle in a short period of time. If I could do that, I could buy a new 30ml solution she had! Honestly, it's so much fun just imagining it. Of course, I know that my writing, without this wonderful nostalgia, is enough to arouse jealousy for those who read it, but now I'm really happy.

This perfume was part of a Anna Sui mini set that I had bought online a while ago which contained all 5 perfumes from her 'Dolly Girl' series and this one is by far my favourite from the series and indeed my favourite out of all the Anna Sui perfumes that I have tried and I have tried alot of her perfumes so far. The smell is so lovely and beautiful, I love the fruity and floral notes, but sadly, like all of Anna Sui's other perfumes, this sadly did not last very long on my skin. While Anna's perfumes are famous for their incredibly beautiful and elaborate and creative packagings, they do have 1 major flaw and that is the poor longevity of these perfumes, while alot of her perfumes do smell lovely and I do love the smell of many of her perfumes, but sadly they only tend to last about 1-2 hours on my skin. This is why I would never buy any bigger sizes of her perfumes individually, but I do love to collect little mini sets or mini sizes of Anna's perfumes mainly because I am obsessed with all the beautiful packagings for her perfumes!

this gem was the first “proper” perfume that I owned, and what a treat it was! as I recall it was gifted to me by my middle school boyfriend (most likely picked out by his mom, but still!) for my birthday and I absolutely adored it. the scent was right up my alley, and although I no longer remember it as well as I would like to, I still remember how it made me feel. it’s a fresh and sweet scent that is not overly cloying or “cutesy” as so many of the other perfumes (or rather body mists) that my friends wore at the time were. I would describe it as a perfectly blended melon/nectarine scent that is both youthful and classy at the same time. longevity was not bad at all either, which unfortunately is something that current anna sui scents often get criticized for. it doesn’t make any sense to me to discontinue a scent like this, and more than a decade later I still mourn the loss of it... it deserves better! if anyone knows of a decent dupe for this scent, please let me know!

I bought this a few years ago and loved it... But after I ran out of the bottle, I fell in love with another perfume for a while and forgot about it. Years later I tried to find this again, but found out that it was already sold out. It's been out of stock for so long so I can't even find it in second hand stores anymore. I miss you. Why does Anna Sui stop making this? It had the perfect scent. Especially the scent of this always reminds me of me -Melon flavored ice cream sold in Korea -"Melona". And the cool autumn with a purple sunset. I still really want this.......really........

I will forever be looking for another bottle of this, I got it as a kid and still have a tiny bit of it. It's sickeningly sweet and I think it was largely responsible for developing my affinity for sweet smells. I don't think the smell would suit me at my age but it was one of my first fancy fragrances bought to for me by my parents. I was drawn in by the cutsey packaging as I was in the height of my lolita/anime phase. I deeply cherish the memories this fragance holds. Definitely potent if you sprayed too much of it.

I used to love this perfume, and wish they hadn't discontinued it. It was a beautiful fruity scent - I thought mandarins, but I can definitely see the melon and nectarine too. It was very much a young woman's scent... But would still be a lovely scent to have on hand for the beach or a picnic.

Got the last bottle from the store. Very yummy... The melon very prominent, after some minutes, the other fruits blend perfectly, like a fruit cocktail you want to drink whem sunbathing in the beaches in Bali, trust me

i love the scent, as well as my hus, but its a limited edition and i can no longer find it in the shop.

Sweet and kinda different and I love the bottle and packaging...that's mostly why I bought it. But Kim is right, it doesn't last long. UPDATE: It has quite an unusual fruity sweet scent, and I have not yet come across any other perfume that smells similar. Gave this to a friend last year because it was a bit too synthetic fruity. I kind of miss it now...

My first thought is that this is a very sweet perfume, but once I smelt it several times, I like how underneath all that sweetness, you can smell the the floral notes. It adds a bit of depth to the smell, otherwise the smell will just be too sweet.

I didnt like the citrusy part in it but i loved how it so cute and the youthful energy of it.

This perfume isn't one of my favorites, but I do love the bottle, and wear it occasionally. I find the first spray to be really sickly sweet, and as others have mentioned, very teen smelling. It smells quite strongly of raspberry & blackberry at the beginning. However the dry down is not as tart, and a little more fresh/watery/citrusty. A good perfume with good sillage and longevity, just not one of my favs :)

many good reviews so I gave it a go but I am not impressed it is very sweet, fruity, too sickly for me... the smell gets better after few minutes but it is still "teeny" and sharp will not buy again love the bottle though

Florida grapefruit, Italian sweet lemon, orange blossom-magnolia, tuberose, fresh jasmine-muguet, Texas rosewood, peach raspberry coconut, amber musk. Check out the notes description pretty exotic is it not? I was so excited when this one just came out! I'd go to the mall ever so often just to shower myself in it because it was such a unique, fun, carefree, young, sweet, tarty, entrancing scent. I must add that I did love the original Dolly Girl too. Ok.. so I finally got a chance to order it online (it was so hard to find!) and waited about 3 weeks to get it shipped to me... So excited when I just got it! But after a few sprays I realized that I was only most in love with the amazingly sweet-fruity-tarty top note! ...which is a bad thing bc top notes usually don't last past 5 minutes. It's definitely not your average floral fruity. The dry down is just so-so because I realized that it kinda started to smell like grape wine... you know a little sharp and sour? ..but still pretty fruity.. The bottle is absolutely divine but not as purple as I imagined it to be. And just like almost all Anna Sui scents.. It's quite light (not headache inducing thank goodness!), and the staying power is not that great. Overall, I still love it and I'll try to use it sparingly because it's so hard to find and all (you know limited edt..) but i don't think i'll buy again after i'm done with it which was a pretty big disappointment for me... still on the hunt for that signature scent!

The top notes burst out with a fresh sweet-fruity-tart note, like grapefruit and peaches mixed with sugar. My inital reaction is nice but a little 'teeny' and not FBW. It loses some tartness in drydown but the main theme of sweet and fruity stays till the end, which on me was about 24 hours later. It has pretty decent sillage too, for the first couple hours. The drydown reminds me of something like Tommy Girl, nice and unoffensive but totally generic. I might have bought this if I was about 18 and hadn't such refined taste after discovering sites such as Luckyscent and TPC.

very very nice scent! to me the smell of melon seems to be most prominent. really fruity. i love it!
