Silver Lavender

A rich botanical fougere It opens fresh and spicy with liquorice nuances coming from lavender. The lavender she uses is of the austere, cold and dry sort, not bright and floral kinds. After this opening, it transforms into a spectacular herbaceous scent, where lavender is accompanied by rosemary, wormwood and sage. Just as if you walked through meadows. These botanicals are richened by adding citric, resinous elemi and incense, creating an orthogonal axis that is tranquil and fresh. The heart notes add some abstract floral facets to it (I can't really pick up different notes) and some bitter galbanum undertones. It dries down to a mossy-woody scent. Overall, it's a stunning botanical fougere that is masterfully blended with none of its aspects overwhelming the scent. I can see myself wearing it in Spring/Autumn and Winter. It might be a bit too heavy for hot summers, though.

Possessed. Finally got my fb after waiting impatiently since my sample ran out. Have worn it nonstop ever since. I am tumbling merrily around in the cloud of soft herbs that provides padding between the labdanum and wormwood, when Rosemary puts a twig in my nostril and twirls it around, then instantly turns into velvet. "Sexy church" is my partners approving comment today.

I like lavender in almost every possible form and bouquet, an exeption could be a mix of lavender and “white flower noise” (an example of such noise for me is Pleasures by Estee Lauder – blindingly loud and annoying material(s) ) Here in Silver Lavender, praise God!, is absolutely my lavender – it is silky and smooth like thick loose satine made of natural silk - silvery, with unusual yellowish-lilac tinge. And extremely deliciously rounded base gives the perfume pleasant weight and seriousness. The base is almost animalic, but without animalic warmth. An extremely good lavender to me. A single word of caution for those who always looks for “that-very-one-and-only-the–best-lavender-on-earth” – this is not it. It doesn’t work this way. It’s not about lavender as it is. It’s about flying, gliding, about sweeping movement forward, about the end of summer, chilly fogs, a warm cabin in the wood . About a delight to sit on a porch of this house early in the morning, just out of bed, wrapped up in a warm wool blanket, see the distant rising almost autumn sun with sleepy eyes, sip hot coffee and smoke the first cigarette of the day. It is strange but with all it’s impetus and drive the perfume has a very , if I may say so, lived-in feeling . It doesn’t exist separately from you just on skin, it seems to be somewhere inside, as if you’ve spend all your life in a very plesant place and it’s smell saturated you completely and now you bring it with you like a farewell blessing wherever you go.

The opening has a unique accord rather than a set of individual notes. It is bitter, herbaceous and aromatic, if you try to dissect this accord, you will find that it has an unusual lavender note, herbal and camphoraceous without the floral undertones. Then, there are the herbal components, namely sage, wormwood and rosemary. There is also a prominent galbanum note and hints of a lemony rose. The fragrance moves to a mossy base.
