Rustical bitter-green galbanum Eau Sauvage brother Imagine two brothers. One of them has escaped a humble, simple life with his babushka and brother in a remote village somewhere in Russia. He had a brilliant career as a diplomat in Moscow, been to more black-tie parties around the world than there are people in the village he's from and his biography would be contained within pages of Gracian's Art of Worldly Wisdom. The other brother decided to stay there and proudly live in accordance with nature - the way all of his ancestors lived. However, he has the same innate grace, and integrity no money can buy as his brother. The closer you look beyond their vastly different lives, the more similarities you'll see. The first brother is Eau Sauvage and the other is Verdigris.

Verdigris is a textbook fougere made using high quality materials and flawless blending. The opening has a beautiful tart citrusy note with neroli-like petitgrain, camphoraceous sage and hints of bitter galbanum. This is followed by the classical combination of a sweet herbal lavender and powdery sweet tonka, which along with oakmoss form the skeleton of the fougere accord. There is a noticable sandalwood note and hints of jasmine as well. In the drydown, I get a green foresty bright yet bitter accord that reminds me of the the green accord in Prin Mriga.
