Tipsy Tuberose

One of my favorite tuberose centered fragrances of late. There seems to be a lot of tuberose lately, and so far I have not even consider purchasing any of those other scents. This is the first that makes me pause a bit. The mix of florals with davana and tonka, makes for a scent that reminds me so much of something called "Cocada" which is a Brazilian dessert, made with coconut (sometimes cooked in the oven), condensed milk, vanilla and almond extract. Not to sweet, but feels gooey. Comes of, in my opinion, somewhere between something gourmand and sunscreen vibes, which is fine for me. Sits close to the skin, so does not become overwhelming or cloying. Still have to give it a proper full wear, but in terms of buying a full bottle, the jury is still out.

The opening is beautiful: lots of tuberose with orange blossom and a truly tiny hint of booze (although that could simply be the alcohol evaporating). It feels immediately feminine, creamy and elegant. The dry-down, however, becomes quite rosy, bit balsamic even and powdery, and unfortunately I also get a note I don’t particularly appreciate. It reminds me of a very soapy, maybe vintage perfume; it's rather particular. Don’t get me wrong, it is well made. It is just not me.
