Walk With Me

Walk with Me begins as an ode to Citrus hystrix, its leaves, its rind and pith, intensely tart and green, making my mouth water, and I am just one with the makrut for a good few minutes of the opening. As if in slow motion, a creamy, supple layer washes over, the transition is so gradual that it's impressive. Then I realize there is a "crossfade" here: the sunny bite of makrut lime leaves with the bitter creaminess of saffron. The textured, cool camphor of cardamom advances forward, and the beauty of Walk with Me is evident. It feels like a cool draft passing through humid air, and slowly it expands outward, softening, the green is mellowing out and it peels back to reveal the earthier undergrowth, What a nice development in this Walk with Me—one that is more than worth visiting again.

This perfume is the best example I've ever encountered of the evolution of a fragrance as you wear it. I was on the fence in the first few minutes after I put it on, because the kaffir lime felt sharply mineralic, but this quickly blossomed into a delicate yet lasting fragrance that is creamy, sexy, and poised. This smells like nothing else and is beautifully crafted. I can't stop breathing it in. For those of you who call it disgusting: shame on you. It's one thing to say it doesn't work with your skin - totally fine, I get it - but this clearly is something crafted by someone passionate about fragrance, and so we should respect that. Edit: I've worn this more, and I would say this perfume fares better in more humid environments. It runs a bit saccharine in very dry air.

For me this opens leathery. The leather of a department store. Of gloves and bags. Magically it turns around to a summery, creamy scent with kaffit lime. It reminds me of an ice cream I once ate in Thailand that was made of coconut, but, very unusually, the flesh of fresh, green coconut. I had completely forgotten about it until I smelled this. Amazing how the perfumer fills everything in differently and turns this perfume around. Love it!

If you wish to smell like a firm sea breeze, shell fish and sea weed mixed with some wood/ vetiver and a soft, slightly sweet and powdery finish: this is it. Very unusual, not a crowd pleaser. Definitely test before buying!

Oh wow, absolutely offputting on my skin, all other fragrances from the brand in the range are beautiful in their own way, with iris and tuberose being my favorites. This on the other hand is utterly unwearable mineralic screechy nausea inducing mess. And it doesn't wash off easily. One thing going for it is nuclear adherence to skin.
