Black Ambergris

What!!!? This is so freaking good! So freaking delicious! Let me slow down a bit.... I purchased a few samples from Lucky Scent based on notes I was interested in from houses I didn’t really know that were using real Ambergris and Oud from high dollar niche to some smaller more affordable fragrances, I wanted to test them without a bias. This one is the one that stood out. Dark chocolate dusted on gently heated incense enveloped in a gorgeous amber laced sea breeze atop a ever so smooth tobacco tinged sandalwood “I know some of these notes aren’t listed” but that’s what my nose perceives. This is truly stunning perfume, very wearable, I got compliments at work, not too animalic like Golden Ambergris “which I also got a sample of” but just perfectly blended Black Ambergris! I LOVE IT! I bought 2 bottles! Silver Ambergris....I’ll have to give it another wearing but to me it smells too much of crushed lime leaves, maybe neroli. Black Ambergris is definitely my favorite of the 3. I am obsessed with this whole series! Three fundamentally different fragrances, bound together by the golden thread of natural ambergris. Ambergris is my favorite animalic note right before musk, and only with the natural material do I experience these fleeting moments of a change in consciousness, almost like I am tripping balls, and I cannot seem to get enough! First time I sprayed Black Ambergris on myself, I only got open fireplace! To the level that I was confused in a curious kind of way, but slowly the fire bloomed out into a gourmand journey that quickly developed into an obsession, in my opinion the most unique fragrance out of the three! I am continuing to fall in love with them over and over again, and it is impossible for me to choose a favorite. It's like they all complement each other, and each one has its own place in the mutual symphony! I am planning on purchasing all three bottles!

Sweet smooth balsamic amber, I wouldn’t say it’s really chocolatey but it’s like taking ambergris and making it gourmand ending up with a unique warm totally wearable animalic musk. The incense is more in the background and doesn’t give me headache at all which I appreciate as someone who can always detect the slightest hint of smokey notes. I’m not usually a fan of balsamic scents either but this is just so smooth and not cloying at all. I think ambergris is my favorite animalic musk so far, I’ve always wanted at least one full bottle that is a wearable animalic and this might just be it, definitely my favorite from the line.

What is artistry? It is deeper than creative skill or ability. It involves vision, boldness, uniqueness and should inspire awe. This is artistry in its purest form. The brand that is clouded in mystery is none other than Russian Adam's Anonim. He didn't want us to judge the scent by other works but as a stand alone fragrance. Black Ambergris is exceptional and the sweet, chocolate amber is indeed Dark and almost coconut macaroon like. But, the ambergris keeps this amber grounded and has no funk and pure mastery. This is true artisanal talent. 4/5

Chocolate is dominant but the black ambergris makes its appearance in the drydown. Love it. Long projection. Very comforting and calming.

Black Ambergris is a bold and daring fragrance, one which I will not soon forget experiencing. It’s a dark and brooding scent which conveys feelings of melancholy, mystery and desire all in one. I’m finding it hard to decide whether I like it or not, but I’m definitely captivated. Despite the name, a wonderful note of dark chocolate takes the stage here - it smells to me as though this accord has been made up of natural tobacco and patchouli mainly, giving the scent a profoundly damp and earthy texture. Soft, burning incense in the background makes this warm and fuzzy, with just a touch of that iconic salty ambergris. The name is funny because to me, the ambergris is the most passive note in here - it’s really not that noticeable at all. But as chocolate fragrances go, this is definitely up there with the best of them. This is not your average gourmand.

This is a dark, resinous, and slightly leathery fragrance that leans masculine (in my opinion), and lasts all day. When I first sprayed this on paper, I thought that this was going to be sweet, intense, and perhaps overbearing—but it’s not at all. This starts out with all the notes being apparent. The opening is slightly medicinal, I’m guessing because of the balsam, but it’s not too much (I’m not a fan of medicinal frags), and it’s only in the beginning. I only get the Ambergris in the opening, as well. The dark chocolate is not a sweet chocolate, and I get that with the incense and resins for most of the wear. Leather is not a note, but I definitely get a leather vibe with this. On me the dry down becomes a bit sweeter (it’s not a sweet fragrance) and some what vanillic.

I am am wearing a Black Ambergris sample right now. I got the three sample set. This was my favorite. Golden Ambergris I did not like. Silver Ambergris was ok. Sort of reminds me of a slightly more animalic John Varvatos Dark Rebel Rider scent. Maybe more woodier and smoky version. The chocolate and incense together gives you this woody scent profile. Love it. You might say its an animalic Niche version of Dark Rebel Rider with a dark chocolate note. Definitely on the more Masculine side. This does not smell like Black Afgano.

Noirish gourmand scent which opens with a boozy chocolate, moves to a heart with balsamic resins and settles on a bed of ambery incense. The overall feeling is a refined decadence but the smell is not really unique since there are many scents in the market with these combination of notes. The slight masculine leaning scent has moderate sillage and good longevity. Overall a fun pleasant but unexceptional wear. Enjoy!

Smoky chocolates.... I really don't remember the top note, but the dry down is just delicious! I get a gourmand-ISH smoky mix of mouthwatering chocolates. The chocolate is quite captivating but not cloying or sticky! it extend to the limit that prevents it to be gourmand but at the boundary of making it edible! It's just beautiful, & actually reminds me of a sweet cold milk chocolate.

Dark chocolate with a hint of the salty sea. This is my first step into ambergris which I have grown to love. Surprisingly it isn’t too sweet, but the facets of dark chocolate with the spicy and animalic touches goes a bit too dark for me. Wish it projected better, this is a sexy scent.

You've smelled this before: * Amber Absolute * Black Afgano * Jubilation XXV Without looking up the notes I guessed incense and resins. It smells of quality for sure. Definitely will remind you of AA more than anything. Seems like a brand focusing around hype. Are these just Luzi oils?

Yes Calvini , but mostly I smell that incensey Amber absolute , it’s forgettable. The brand is just clones out of turkey and they sent some bs briefs to a bunch of influencers. It’s just hype and people think it’s a project by Russian Adam. All bs

I was going through some boxes and found this. My sample had to be sitting since 2021. Its so beautiful, when I first tried it I thought it smelled of B0. I was unfamiliar of how raw ambergris smelled. Thinking baccarat was the pillar for ambergris. 🤣🤣🤣 Not sure if time or experience changed this for me but I'm glad. I think I did like this back when but I was going for chocolate scents and I thought this was a weird one. Yet, its beautiful and smells just like a chocolate bar. Dark and milk chocolate swirled with hints of salted caramel. Not really my type of scent anymore but I may get a fb. So, the last scentence (lol) was a bit confusing. I mean I'm no longer on that chocolate journey. This is stunning!!!!!!!! So sexy! Everything you need in a fragrance. It reacts to your body heat. I know everyone says all fragrances do that... not like this if thats true! Its like thermal imaging. You can wear it all year round! 4 seasons or 5 seasons. Day or night. I don't think I've experienced a scent that is so universal or versatile!.. Definitely unisex! It's the smoothest slightly salted chocolate scent around.

No doubt, this one has some horsepower. This is the luxury vehicle of incense based fragrances. Please don't wreck the Mercedes by over spraying. Anonim went nouveau by providing us with that familiar churchy fragrance except with a cocoa twist. This perfume is gently shaded by ash and something I can only describe as stonewashed chocolate. The incense is akin to embers presenting some flakey vibes that seem to be in sync with the embrowned composition. The unanimity is on full display and every single note flows in one dimension. I find this to be superior to Avignon and Sanctum Perfume. To all you longevity warriors out there, you'll be pleased to know that this suffices in that department. This is darker than your run of the mill incense fragrance. With that being said, don't be afraid to get your spook on with this one.

Tsv4 is smelling something completely different than most and definitely then myself. This has nothing to do with amber absolutely.i saw someone say jubilation and black afgano. Nope on all three. This uses real ambergris, nothing synthetic about the amber notes in this. It's so dense the bottle cap sticks. If there was any complaint it would be the bottle. It's pretty cheap. However, the juice inside, it's everything. Almost up there with o hira by Stéphane Humbert Lucas to me. I love ambergris in all its fascists, but when it goes amber is my favorite part. Others can be animalic or have an aquatic salty vibe. All are good but the amber version is king IMHO. Anyways this has great longevity and good projection. Try it, if you don't like it @me

I finally got to sample this one and honestly it doesn’t really smell like a Russian Adam creation. If it is him that made this perfume I’d be a tad bit disappointed as his work is often bold, daring, and complex. Black Ambergris is a chocolate gourmand with a strong labdanum drydown. There’s some woody incense notes as well but overall this is a warm, gourmand amber scent that smells like a whole number of perfumers could’ve created it.

I just got a sample of this and the first impression I got is of a very warm gourmand scent with a strange chocolate aroma with coconut nuances. There is no coconut in this, but it is probably because of the resins and incense combination. There is also a strong scent similar to mineral oil that emerges from the background of it all probably due to ambergris. This is an unusual and intriguing composition that deserves a try.

The opening is horrible, with a very screechy alcoholic note that almost smells like a defect. Getting past this takes 10-20 minutes and then it is just a gourgeus warm and mild amber. I don't love it, but I really like it.
