Sakura Imperial

Strange perfume, in the sense that personally, I have never smelled anything like it before. While at first it seemed a bit indifferent to me, beautiful, but somewhat boring, the more I smelled it, the more I couldn't stop, and something just kept drawing me in. It is floral on the first spray, purely floral, but in a chamomile kind of way, it’s botanically floral, very "full" and slightly sweet. It has a very light spicy feel, but I don't really get the lemon and cypress at the beginning. As soon as it settles for about 5-10 mins, a beautiful lemony, green forest freshness starts coming out, which is soooo addictive. The pepper doesn't make it spicy or warm, it makes it borderline minty and cooling in feel. This scent lasts quite a while, overall, the perfume is eternal on me. The mid-section is probably my least favorite. I like it a lot, but not as much as the opening and the dry down. In the middle, it's full-on floral again, mostly from the cherry blossoms. I don’t think I’ve ever come across apple blossom and currant notes before, so I can't really tell, and I don't pick up the jasmine at all. It's the first time a perfume with jasmine has it sooo much in the background, if someone doesn't get along with jasmine, they won't have an issue here. The chamomile continues to be noticeable, with the cherry blossoms stepping more and more into the front as time goes by. Personally, I’ve never smelled a similar floral before, my only issue is that it smells a tad watery somewhere right before the transition from the heart to the dry down. I don't know how to explain it, it smells somewhat diluted? Do you know when you smell an empty juice glass where the ice has melted? Imagine the floral as the juice smell that smells watery. Something like that. The dry down is the scent that lasts the longest. The heart generally lasts less time (still quite a while though) than both the opening and the dry down, and it slowly turns into the most peeerfect fruity, clean scent. Again, I have no idea why, I don't know if raspberry blossoms smell similar to the actual fruit, because it genuinely smells purely fruity, a bit tart/tangy, slightly sweet, and consistent, like the most perfect, mouth-watering shampoo. I don't know if I'll invest in it because, for now, I just got a decant, and the smallest bottle available is 30ml. Other than perfumes I wear constantly or very budget-friendly ones, I usually stick to travel sizes. But it is definitely a very interesting fragrance that is low-key, but if you pay attention to it, I think it totally holds you. Also, for a fresh perfume of this nature, AMAZING longevity.

I was looking for the ultimate spring perfume that doesn’t vanish in a few hours and is noticeable throughout the day without cloying anyone around you. After all the gourmand heavy scents popping up everywhere, my nose needed something fresh. Aand fyi, I hate all the rose/musky type kinda clean but not perfumes. I stumbled upon this fragrance and I was so intrigued by the notes, so I blind bought it and thank god I did. First spray in the morning, I scented chamomile, fresh, airy, herbal. I’m surrounded by calmness. After a while the cherry blossom comes out and you get this floral, little fuity mix in it. Soo beautiful and it immediately transported me back to the time in April when I was in Japan walking under the cherry blossoms. At the end of the day I smell this powdery sandalwoody raspberry. I absolutely adore it.

Breathtaking, sweet floral with fruity touches. A dreamy fragrance. Springtime captured in a bottle! Delicate, calm, dreamy, dewy and fresh floral with a pinch of pepper and soothing chamomile on a creamy base of sandalwood and mildly sweet tonka beans. It’s such a transparent and airy scent but has some body and intensity. Discovered this new perfume house while on a trip in Turin at Perfumology on sales assistant recommendation and it was love at first sniff. She knows her stuff! 3 days later after giving Sakura Imperial a proper wear I am in still in love. It just makes me happy every time I catch a whiff in the air! Unique in my vast collection which is definitely a plus! Would recommend this perfume to floral lovers who want something else. Appealing but different!

A very nice white floral with a hint of fruitiness. Leans a bit feminine, but I would wear it. Not super unique, but well blended.

This would normally not be my cup of tea but I have to say in the first shy days of spring this is so fitting and so enjoyable. Words that best describe this scent: calm, dreamy, fresh and unrushed.

I bought a tester for this one because I was looking for a cherry blossom perfume and the tester was absolutely perfect. LOVED it. Light, floral, long lasting. The chamomile is the leading front in this perfume and the cherry blossom sits nicely in the back. It's clean, fresh, airy, breezy and inoffensive. I decided to buy the bottle after using up the tester and the bottle has been a different story for me. The chamomile got amped up a lot in the big bottle with a bigger spraying area, and now I can't get past the fact that it wierdly smells like fried eggs. Floral, airy, slightly buttery eggs. Once I realized that, it's all I can smell when I try to spray it. Perhaps it's the summer heat that turns it that way for me, as I tried the tester in May and it is now the middle of July. I will put it away for now and try it again when the weather cools down a little. It does makes me sad because I really fell in love with the tester, and the perfume is rather expensive. Clean soap... When first sprayed it went bit more cherry blossoms, but when it cooled down it become very soapy clean. Meh.
