L.A. She called but he was unreachable

At first spray, I get an interesting blend of lemon-lime mixed with bergamot, but never like a cleaning product, more like lemon-lime soda. There is a warmth behind it, almost vanilla-like, and as it dries on my skin, I notice the musky base notes and almost a coastal vibe. A tiny bit of powder too. Delicate balance between citrus and a warm/cozy base. Very nice actually and unique, and not a "one note" fragrance. I'm 24 y/o male and do think it's unisex, but I certainly think it depends on the individual. There is certainly a femininity about it, but the musk undertone mixes with my skin to create a more masculine scent for me. I get ever so slight "marine" vibe but no seaweed. This somewhat reminds me of a clean laundry scent, but not at all stereotypical. I could see this as a fragrance to wear on the off-season at a coastal Atlantic beach or a weekend getaway to the finger lakes. I see that a main accord listed is "white floral" and "floral"... while I could see it described as crisp and white, I don't know if I would call this a floral scent per se. Can't speak of longevity/silage yet, but both seem average, similar to a Jo Malone scent perhaps. My boyfriend likes it and said he could still smell it after 3.5 hrs of last spray. Definitely worth a try!!! I'm still deciding if I like it, but I keep smelling my wrists and think it's totally unique. PS - this is my first time actually reviewing a fragrance. Hope this helps/hope you enjoy :) --- UPDATE - Longevity is decent but probably needs one more spray than you think in order for the scent to be present, or perhaps a spray directly on clothing. Beyond that, I prefer a warmer, sweeter scent & this delivers more of a sour, dry citrus. I also get more of the floral notes now that I've worn in on a few occasions and the combination leaves me wanting something warmer. I still do enjoy the scent but will plan on revisiting in the Spring, as I think it would be better enjoyed in warm weather. UPDATE #2 - I decided to revisit this sooner and it feels warm and positive on this rainy day and it's such an uplifting scent. Very multidimensional... the nose behind this scent is very talented. I'll give my final verdict later (if I ever reach one)

I am very, very fortunate to have won the Fragrantica giveaway for this fragrance. Like readysniffer1, I love books.. I have hundreds of them. They line my walls, they fill my electronics.. everywhere there's a book! So I was very intrigued by the concept of a "scent story". However, my story with this fragrance is very different: She never really called. It's after 2 a.m. She's had one too many margaritas at the deck of the tiny bar by the sea. After the second margarita she thought she'd met Mr. Interesting. By the fourth margarita she was bemused by him. But now the lights have been turned up, it's time for everyone to leave. The sea air is blowing over the remnants of stale drinks that haven't yet been picked up by the barback. She looks at Mr. Interesting and realizes, just before she commits to some awful act, that that he looked much better and smoother in the dark.. she made her way home alone.. still looking for someone to call her own. I will say up front that while I have fragrances that I love where bergamot is among the prominent notes, I am not a big fan of acidic, purely citrus fragrances. They tend to turn very "sharp" on me. I was hoping this one would be very different. I wanted to like it -- after all, it has a tale to tell. However, my body chemistry wasn't cooperating. This fragrance starts as an almost crisp citrus, but it very quickly turns to stale margarita on my skin... salty rim and all. As a positive, the usual "sharp" that I experience with citrus centric fragrances wasn't there. However, the floral component never came to stay, nor did it provide any respite from the lingering stale margarita. The dry down, while very subdued, is a throwback to too long nights at then hip South Beach bars. Sadly, it's just not for me. However, on someone who can find the floral component and not as much salt, I think it would be a languid, citrus-kissed memory to share. The presentation is lovely. Hip, forward, and well thought out. The bottle itself is quite striking, especially with the heavy metal cap with the pen "nib" embossed into the top.

A citrus body spray for warmer weather. As expected of most citrus based scents, this is a skin scent in an hour, and it disappears soon after. Testing a 10 ml bottle.
