Dukes Carpet

Duke's Carpet from anti Parfums to me was incredibly refreshing, but in no sense was it generic citrus/clean. No: dry, crisp & sparkling like the inside of a Dry Martini. The gin-like botanicals are sparkling dry citruses (e.g., lemon & grapefruit zest), aromatic gin notes with lots of sharp juniper & spices with ginger, alongside these cold, sharp notes that feel like air hitting warm velvet or polished wood. The fresh notes are elegant, not cheap. It feels sharp, but with such an undercurrent of warmth, class, & softness that it never smells like a “sporty” modern scent at all. That juniper & herbal mix makes for one of the freshest scents possible to me. The idea of the “carpet” comes as it warms a little: a subtle, warm undercurrent of velvet & expensive interior wood where something like vermouth may have sunk into the carpet over the years. That dry sparkle against the soft, old, worn velvet warmth is my absolute favorite contrast here, & honestly the key to why it becomes addictive. This has to feel cinematic for someone stepping out of the bitter London cold into a slick bar. It perfectly replicates that feeling of having crisp, aromatic, well-dressed, & slightly dated scents all around you at once. The genius here, above other fresh gin scents, is the texture. It stays dry & well-textured throughout, with real depth where most fragrances in this style feel flat after the opening. Duke’s Carpet is, for me, the most crowd-pleasing fragrance in the Anti line. Despite the conceptual quirkiness that marks so much of this lines work, this feels immediately wearable in a much more straightforward way for most noses. One of the most effortlessly elegant scents in the line. This my second favorite from the line and with good reason, anti just keeps impressing me with their gorgeous compositions I'd give dukes carpet a solid: 9/10 Update: 06/10/26 - Anyways I caved and bought a bottle 🤣! Bast is still my favorite but I decided I'd buy that one closer to the fall!

what a refreshing, cold and sharp fragrance, the citruses are so nice, unique, zesty and so well mixed together, the ginger is snappy, sharp and you even get that nose hit you get from eating raw ginger, and the greens and botanicals you usually find in gin are in there too and balance everything so well, with sweet and deep undertones, just insane I love it, the only issue is longevity, it's a bit weak and you need to overspray to compensate, even though the projection and sillage are decent enough but I still might have finally found my new summer fragrance, I've been testing a lot of citrus/ginger combos which I love, but most end up too sweet and cloying, too close to cleaning products, or not complex enough, and this might have just taken the crown anti was such an amazing find already, Bast is also a beast, probably the most mindblowing fragrance I've found this year so far, absolutely crazy

Hands down one of the best perfumes I've ever tried. Of course, I love citruses and aromatic scents, so I am a bit biased. This scent, is pretty much a gin tonic in a perfume bottle. I mean it in the best way possible. It is aromatic and tangy and zingy and sooo addictive. It could not be more perfect. Although, it has one big disadvantage - it doesn't last. You'd need to shower yourself in it to make it last. However, it smells so good that I might buy a full bottle anyway. I also tried the rest of this brand's perfumes, and I must say that this one is their absolute best, while some of their other ones are pretty atrocious.

I am not easy to impress, but color me impressed. It starts off very lemon-heavy but quickly moves into gin and juniper middle notes before it settles into a gin/juniper/woods base that has decent longevity despite fairly discreet sillage. In the base, it resembles Memo Ithaque ever so slightly, but it feels different enough to own it alongside Ithaque. A unique and fun scent for sure.

This is a very realistic gin fragrance,just what I was looking for.There is some citrus here,but the gin is dominant thoughout,it does not fade nor would I want it to.Very well blended,proformance seems good but I've only just received it.For 160 euro (on Anti website at moment)it's a welcome addition to my 100 plus collection,top ten.

Brilliant presentation! Bravo to Anti and the amazing Karine Vinchon Spehner 👌 My first buy from this brand and I’m delightfully surprised. To me the perfume is a beautifully blended spring/summer gentlemanly experience. Fresh, yet bold without being in your face. Masterfully blended! My best blind buy ever 5/5 !

Literally the perfect Gin & Tonic fragrance. It opens up super fizzy and uplifting, then it drys down to a dusty lemon that almost smells like a grapefruit rind. This has been my dumb reach for hot days.

I really wanted to love it, but I am not a fan of lemon. Granted, the lemon in this fragrance is a high-quality note that smells fresh, but in my mind, I can't shake the association with all-purpose cleaners. If you can get past that, the fragrance is lovely. The ginger note is light enough to add a "freshly-poured" element to the lemon, and the gin is fresh and doesn't fall into the aldehyde trap that a lot of fresh liquor notes go down. The red berries are light but add a slight hint of sweetness. In the dry down, the juniper and cedar notes reemerge and give the fragrance a dusty carpet feel that ties it all together. Although the longevity is kinda weak, 4-5 hours, it's acceptable given how complex and dynamic it is. Projection is good enough to be noticeable but won't gas out a room (that's a good thing). 100% recommend if you don't mind the smell of lemon.

Not the most unique smell, but lasts a good while and people around me seem to pick up on it and like it. Reminds me of the smell of the carpet in a posh country hotel in England in the summer; very apt name! Unisex smell, but leans a tad masculine. It's a like for now; may become a love in the future.

Another interesting one from this interesting house. I get the juniper and gin, but this one also has a mediterranean flavored mandarin vibe throughout on my skin. I love gin and tonic so this is right up my alley, but I can't shake the feeling of mandarin.

First I have to say my view of this fragrance just being "Ok" does not mean it isn't good. It's masterfully blended and I can see this being worn in a gentlemans club or somewhere chique. The problem that arises for me, and maybe other ppl, is how strong and dominant the gin comes through all the way through wearing it. Sometimes i caught a whiff of it, and thoight i spilled some gin tonic on myself. And that was just to strong for me. Emphasis on "for me" cause i think I'd enjoy it on other ppl more. So for anyone interested in it and not scared by gin it's definitely a great blind buy.

This is a great fragrance that reminds me of a gin and tonic with fresh lime. But I won't buy it again becuase it dissipates in under 15 minutes on my skin. I have to significantly overspray (like 10-15 spritzes) just to get some performance, and even then it is gone in under an hour. I love this scent and wish it lasted much, much longer.

Another gin and tonic interpretation, this time with a dash of berries. Despite being pleasant, unisex and tangy thanks to the ginger, the juicy, almost fruit punch-like aspects overpower the fresh and cool spiciness of gin.

I had never heard of this brand before, but came across it at a local boutique. I am absolutely obsessed with this. I've always loved aromatics, but find they're generally lacking a little sweetness that I crave. This has the perfect amount of sweetness that I think makes this a lot more wearable for me. Its so fresh, with the lemon and grapefruit shine without being bitter, and the gin/juniper is so clean and bubbly. I love the old furniture accord idea. On the dry down you really get the vibe of that wood smell in an antique store. Absolutely stunning from start to finish. Unfortunately I cannot afford fragrances at this price point so I'm going to save and hunt for something similar enough in the meantime!

Woods & cocktails in Mafia headquarter.... A Mango-ISH jin cocktail with ginger, Slice of lemon, juniper, berries, cedar and more cedar. It is like the smell of a place that is dark woody brown, burgundy, dimmer lights, leather coaches, & suits. The perfumer wrote "A dry martini, served shaken, not stirred, in the London club where Ian Fleming imagined the world’s most famous spy. In the brisk motion of the shaker, a few drops of vermouth escape, seeping into the thick velvet carpet. Year after year, the herbal trail settles deep within it, entwined with the bright twist of Amalfi lemon." I can literally see that scene when i sniff on this scent. Beautiful of excellence.

It's a beautiful smell and this coming from someone who isn't massive on freshies. However, it has some of the worst longevity I've ever encountered which is a huge shame as I'd love to own a bottle for summer if it lasted longer than twenty minutes. A real shame!
