Antonia's Flowers -- where to begin... I first smelled it on the very chic mother of a childhood friend and was immediately enchanted with the morning fresh magnolia that dominates (for me) the perfume. Falling in love with this gauzy floral was easy -- growing up in the southern United States where magnolia blossoms perfumed gardens and yards with their divinely heady, almost lemony fragrance, I remember cherishing the smell of the bloom at different times of the day as it unfolded, and that is what this delicious fragrance does for me. I do detect hints of freesia which add to the charm of the perfume. Lily and soft peachy fruits also add to the character and beauty of Antonia's Flowers as it slowly unveils itself to the wearer. If you're looking for fresh spring with a suggestion of mystery in a bottle splurge a little an give AF a go...you won't regret it.

I have adored this perfume for many years. I could not imagine not having it in my collection. I use it sparingly as it is very expensive, ( have the pure perfume) but when I do wear it I get loads of compliments. I have even been approached by people at work saying they were told by someone else to come and sniff me! Infact I have been asked specifically to wear it to work! I won't everyday though, I need to make it last. My favourite flower smell in the whole world is freesia and after the initial blast, which I really don't like atall, I can't describe it, I am rubbish at describing notes, it settles into the most beautiful freesia on me. Perhaps not for everyone, but you love freesia I think this is the closest you'll ever get to wearing it.

This is a very classic floral, my signature for quite some time. It's not a heavy floral; instead it's pure wildflowers bathing in sunlight. It's the way your skin should smell after rolling around naked in an enormous bed of freesia and magnolia. I'm surprised others smell lily. For me this is almost pure, sweet freesia with overt hints of magnolia. I suggest the EDP over the EDT because it has great staying power and smells richer, deeper. When I bought mine (almost 15 years ago), it was packaged with a beautiful flower-shaped glass stopper, but it also came with a spray nozzle so you could switch back and forth if you want. Floral perfection in a gorgeous bottle!

Perfect spring perfume, packed and overflowing with freesias - very pretty indeed. Only downside is I cannot smell it on my skin after the first 20 minutes. However, a spritz on my clothes and it's a stayer. Update: So I have been wearing this for a couple of hours now and it blooms from buds to a full on display of freesia, magnolia, jasmine and lily and it's divine. It's on my clothes and only faintly on my skin but I love it.

it's been a while since i've worn this perfume but i remember loving the light scent of freesia. the scent of lilies is usually too overpowering for me but i didn't find it so in this fragrance. it reminded me of a bouquet of fresh spring flowers lightly scenting the air. very lovely, feminine scent.

This one is really beautiful. Forgot all about it - had a mini forever ago and loved it very much. A voluptuous, bright floral mix. One of the best bouquets i’ve ever smelt - rich & complex. Classy all the way. Putting in on the need to have again list!

Try Matier Premier Parsian Musc. Don't get mad with me - just try it. I've been missing AF for 30 years and there is something in Parisian Musc which is giving me the same vibe. Delightful!

A forever favorite that brought me such joy and so many inquiries and compliments from friends and strangers alike. Please let it be true that it is indeed coming back!

So sad this masterpiece is discontinued it used to be my signature scent but I can’t get it anymore and I have never smelled anything like it or remotely similar

This is the most natural freesia smell I can ever find! Really love it! Although it has other notes it still very freesia all the time.

I bought a bottle of Antonia’s Flowers from Mecca more than a couple of years ago - really when Mecca was just starting out online and they had a secondary site called Kit. At the time it was around $150, so it was a big purchase and a blind buy, but it promised freesia – my favourite scent in the world. When it arrived, I was disappointed with the box and the bottle, but the biggest disappointment for me was the freesia. It was a white floral once it softened, but the freesia was hiding in there somewhere. I just didn’t get it – there were too many other flowers in the bouquet. Just not for me. So, sadly, I reboxed it, and put it at the very back of my perfume cupboard – heartbroken that I had spent so much on something I wasn’t going to wear. It stayed there until I finally sold it (for much less) to someone who loved it and loved the freesia. So, it was me – it was my skin that soaked up the freesia, shot it straight into my little dutch heart, and kept it hidden - or my nose just couldn't separate it from the bunch. I’m so glad others enjoy it and the freesia dances on their skin and doesn’t hide. If you smell the freesia, I'm jealous. Wear it with joy!

I have an almost-empty vintage bottle of this and it is very concentrated and almost sharp, but the DNA is there. Gorgeous scent. Recently a shop in my neighborhood (Berkeley, the Elmwood neighborhood) opened that sells perfume oils. They have both single note scents that you can wear singly or combine to create a signature scent, but they also have their versions of famous scents already blended. I was SHOCKED to see they had "their version" of Antonia's Flowers, and bought it immediately. It's very nice. I could wear this every day. I recognize the similarity to my vintage bottle, but there's less sharpness, which I enjoy. I'm glad to have this scent back in my wardrobe, since I have been afraid to use the rest of my old bottle. For me, this is a clean, fresh, subtle spring daytime perfume that has a very realistic blooming freesia scent, unlike the artificially sweet scents you tend to find in the shops or the very heavy mossy ones such as traditional Guerlain. When I first wore this, a male friend (who enjoys gardening) immediately picked up the freesia note and loved it. It's a Saturday and Sunday type of perfume, carefree and relaxed. Now...that said...I would swap my nearly full bottle of this any day for Tiempe Passate, the intimate evening perfume. But the two have different purposes and are lovely in their own way. Antonia's Flowers are, or were, simply the finest perfumes ever made.

my hubby bought me this about 3 years ago after i visited space nk, sprayed some on my wrist & promptly fell in love with it! very very expensive, but good ole hubby bought some for me, anyhoo i wore it for about 4 days, the smell of lilys is intoxicating, a really floral perfume, thats very strong, excellent silage, but for me its just to much! yes i love florals, yes i love the smell of lilys, but i just couldnt tolerate it im afraid, i ended up just using it as an air freshner, (very expensive air freshner), wouldnt buy it again, but great if you like srong lily smells!!

This scent has a mostly jammy accord once I put it on, almost like the inside of a toasted raisin. I wasn’t able to pick out any floral notes at all. I think that’s because my sample sat for a while and became concentrated similar to the bottle MsFCAS had. While it is somewhat dense, it’s not cloying and is very pleasant to wear overall. I got about nine hours of wear time, but it more or less turns into a skin scent after about four hours.

Definitive flower shop fragrance. Finally found a used EDT spray at a decent price. Smells more like a florist's than any perfume I've tried. Has a rather dirty green quality to it like the water in a vase of flowers. Lily with some magnolia at the onset, then jasmine and sandalwood. I don't pick up much freesia here as some others do. It's quite unique.

A sweet light floral that satisfies the senses.Jasmine and freesia r most prominate.It is a refreshing fume.A step away from ur regular florals in that nothing is heavy.An uplifting fume for sure.

I love-love-love this fragrance! I have been wearing it since 1989 (not sure why it's listed as 1995). It is light, clean and floral, great for a daytime scent.

I don't use write bad reviews and this doesn't intended to be so. I just want advise: do not buy this fragance without properly testing. The notes were so promissing but all I can get here is a bit plastic and soft remaining from water where flowers were layed. Maybe a reaction on my skin. I read the reviews and I ordered a sample expecting a bunch of semi sweet fresh flowers. I wonder why the diapers smell comes from (clean diapers). I must say my skin is clean after a shower with dove. Maybe that... more tests needed.

I was a bit disappointed with this fragrance. I had heard and read many good things about it but I found it to be rather uninspiring, and on my skin the lily notes became overwhelming and eventually began to annoy me, so I won't be returning to it, I'm afraid.

a lot of herbal citrus in the top, sharp and then some white florals mainly lily, gardenia and freesia in the middle with a lot of herbal in the bottom in the EDT. The EDP is a bit richer and deeper and smoother but it has this odd BO note to it. Not a fan.

I'm not sure if my sample is supposed to smell like this or not...I can't tell if it's turned, just lost its top notes, or if that's just a particular floral smell. Either way, it smells "old."

On me it is anise, then a promising hint of florals, and then a second blast of more anise that just won't quit. Dries down to ... anise. Quel dommage, as I had such high hopes for this one.

Totally agree Missk. Some florals don't have pleasing scents. The drydown of this is similar to Ysatis...Very unpleasant and almost fecal. This is more odor than aroma.

I was expecting more of this one due to the fantastic reviews all over the net. Cheap synthetic floral, nothing spectacular, already forgotten.

I've given myself almost the whole day in order to process this fragrance. Antonia's Flowers EDT is a hard one to decipher, one that can smell horrid one minute and intriguing the next. I can certainly see where some reviewers are coming from with the stale sweat and fecal references. This is a damp, green and natural interpretation of lily, with a bit of garden soil chucked into the mix. It's perhaps not as feminine and friendly as you may expect. If I were to take into consideration its garden-like freshness and the way it has been composed, I find ways and means to like it. However, I can't seem to get past the stale sweat scent. I'm always very conscious of smelling good, so it makes no sense for me to embrace my natural body odour with a spritz of Antonia's Flowers. It may all just come down to skin chemistry, and perhaps I'll have to face up to the facts that this fragrance and I were never meant to be. I am half-pointing at the fruity accords in the opening and heart as the culprits. By the drydown, I am convinced that this is my chemistry playing tricks. Perhaps the florals are much prettier on others. So with that in mind, take this review as a warning, don't blind buy. I am now very curious as to how the EDP and extrait differs. Unfortunately this pretty sounding fragrance didn't live up to my expectations. So I say, next!

I am truly baffled by the range of reviews on the Antonia's Flowers eponymous perfume. I am wearing the eau de toilette, and it seems obviously to be a classic dried floral composition featuring above all lily. There is definitely a slightly dirty quality here which I have smelled in many lily perfumes. Others, however, have said that this is a freesia-centric or even a lavender-violet perfume! Although I do believe that this is a mixed floral creation, I smell very little freesia and no lavender or violet whatsoever. What can this mean? Either Antonia's Flowers has batch problems, or else this mixed floral composition plays out differently on the skin of different wearers. Or perhaps the notes are variably salient in a rather radical way for some reason. As I also have samples of the eau de parfum and the extrait, I'll review those separately and see whether I can solve this conundrum! For now, I'll say about this eau de toilette that it smells nice but somewhat standard as far as floral perfumes go. On the dry side with a grayish tinge, imparted, I believe, by the lily!

Antonias Flowers scent changed awhile before her closure / hiatus. She switched perfume houses and the original "Freesia" scent/ top note changed heavily to Lily instead. It was a big change- not the same scent at all- very sweet and cloying. Couldn't detect the signature notes anymore despite multiple purchases, so stopped wearing it before the closure. Newcomers would not have known this comparison. Understandable why reviews changed as well. Rumor has/had it that she will resurrect the scent "by late 2025", but one wonders which version will be released, if at all. It is October 2025; they released a $225 bottle of Tiempe Passate earlier this year but no actual confirmation from them regarding Antonia's Flowers scent. If you still have, or obtained a bottle of the original Antonia's Flowers, the scent will no longer be true as it is too aged. You might as well use it, but you may not like it as a perfume.

This is available in EDP, EDT and pure parfum, (which sells as Absoluto). I prefer the EDP over the EDT, which is a very pleasant, non-jarring floral. however, i was WOWED by Absoluto, so I"ll focus on htat one. Absoluto is a luscious, sharp, gloriously crafted floral green. Picture yourself stepping out into a verdant valley in springtime, blanketed by wild flowers and saturated with warm sunshine. it opens a little dry, as there is no rose here to add that dewy touch. All of the notes are on the raspy side, which is why the verdant valley is in the rockies and not in a tropical paradise. What i love, though, is how clean, crisp and vibrant this wears. I'll even say, quietly, that I'm debating between Chamade and Absoluto. Will most likely get both - This one is irresistible.

When I received this, I first thought there was something diluted water in the bottle, it smelled so weak and strange. I put it back to the box and suspect it was some fake perfume. Much later I took it and smelled it again, and I noticed that maybe it is what it's supposed to be; It's not so bad. I started to like it. Now I think I love it. It really smells like in a floral shop, like fresh florals, very green. I don't think there is very strong lily note; lily can be quite irritating, such a strong smell. But there is just that freesia and magnolia. I have ever smelled any perfume like this. Very beautiful. How didn't I got that right away.

My favorite fragrance of all time; when I first caught a whiff of this in a lady in a mall, I followed her through multiple shops before working up the nerve to ask what it was. To me, it smelled like freesia and raspberry pie fresh from the oven. I still have a partial bottle of EDP and asoluto that unfortunately no longer smell true. I can still pick up the freesia (my favorite flower) but it has a celery-like after smell. So sad......

Antonia`s Flowers is supposed to be a freesia soliflore,and probably it is the best freesia so far.Very beautiful...so feminine, so sparkling, a true breath of spring flowers...It was one of the first perfumes that amazed me because it had everything that perfumes back then lacked - lightness, freshness ,giving the feling of a second skin.

Antonia's Flowers is one of my favorite fragrances. It was, quite simply, love at first sniff. I adore freesias and this the best recreation of its scent that I've come across. I know perfume is very subjective, but I'm dumbfounded by so many highly negative reviews. But then, I can't abide Angel, even at 50 paces. Go figure. :-)

Additional review: Still searching for replacement scent I wish one of the other perfume houses would purchase the formula for Antonia’s Flowers and release it as Antonia’s Flowers Redux or something like that. I have not found a replacement for this unique scent. I could only find EDT to purchase but it was wonderful on my skin.

I just learned Antonia's Flowers is no more and I am devastated. AF and Tiempe Passate are my two favorite perfumes, and the thought that I will never smell them again makes me want to cry. I hope someone will revive the company, because no other fragrances are as beautiful.

OK, I think I get it. This is the WORST smell on me. Sticky burnt dirt. It must be my chemistry. Received as a gift tried it and hated it. Two years later tried it again _UGHHH. I want to know what is in this that I can not wear so I can avoid it in the future.

can anyone tell me where to buy this in australia or new zealand. I am looking for it because it is bernard chant's creation. As AE has been reformulated because of restrictions on oakmoss etc, I hope that this remains unadulturated. I just adore his perfumes.

Odd floral notes in this one, but no freesia. A bit muddled and musty, this is not how I want to smell. Maybe my vintage sample is off. Or maybe - most likely - AF is just an odd smelling fragrance. Poor sillage and lasting power, in case anyone's wondering.

THE Michael Edwards has recently reported that, after years of requests, Antonia’s Flowers is coming back! Timelines unknown to me, but many people rejoice!

It's been years since I sampled this one, and my notes from the time are: not floral enough, fresh, but something like orange rind.

Rarely to find. I want to try this, but it is very expensive. Has anyone an tip were i can get an example?
