Pink Wood

Pink Wood starts with boozy spicy real sandalwood, exactly like a sandalwood fan I had as a kid. the truest sandalwood I’ve ever smelled, not really sweetened, just fragrant wood. There’s a vibrant, glowing rose aura around the whole thing. And, an hour in, a very faint “cheesy” savory funkiness from the oud; not offensive at all, just a different kind of flavor to balance the sandalwood. It finally sinks into liquored amber-sandalwood sweetness, about four hours in. Pink Wood is sandalwood with passion; not holographic weightless sandalwood like the Neela Vermeire scents, not plush Frenchified sandalwood like Bois des Iles, not minimalist modern sandalwood like Santal Blush, but a bold, rich, true sandalwood that packs a punch. Canfield Cedar has a similar coppery sweetened-woods effect, but feels cozier and more casual — in a pinch I’d probably choose it over the more dramatic Pink Wood, but it’s a close call.

The more I try natural perfume brands the more I am impress with April Aromatics. Ms Bochnig can do light and dark equally well. In the case of Pink Wood, this is more a heavy scent with an emphasis on the woods and the patchouli (that is not listed here). The rose, for once doesn't bother me at all, is sweetened with fruity notes and come and go but never disappear. I associate Pink Wood with heavy velvet curtains, comfortable but not modern in the purified style sense. Instead it's very authentic and truly captivating.

deeply medicinal. this reminds me of laying in my grandparent's bed in the cool, fragrant, bookshelf-filled bedroom of their old house on a rainy day, sick as a dog, being given cherry-flavored cough syrup & watching an old musical on their grainy television. warm & menthol-cool all at once. smothered beneath comforters & feeling the chill of winter air seeping through cracks in the windowsills brush over my fevered forehead. bittersweet memories.

The rose wood really shines in this creation, the geranium gives it a spicy, fresh edge, but not too much. The fruity notes lends it a slight sweetness and overall I find this a really enjoyable, comforting scent, beautiful. Although not listed I smell patchouli in this also and a smidgen of oud.

Pink Wood is wonderful...this is definitely very woody, very oud-y with just a touch of geranium and rose to keep things interesting...I get no fruitiness whatsoever...this is a deep winter fragrance that is kept light by the floral notes, but the floral notes do not overpower...

I was surprised I liked this so much. Soapy, incensy, clean. Smells like one of my iris incenses, oddly enough, even if iris is not listed in the notes.

170 This one is definitely a cool/cold weather scent. It is challenging at first spray as you get sharp tart notes with a charred wood, almost tarry. But this one is great outdoors and reminds me of cold crisp days in winter. The floral fruity notes come out more once it settles and there is an ongoing play between the tart floral sharpness and the burnt wood. It makes me think of tart roses growing in a charred forest. 8/10-I find these wood notes unique compared to all the other strong generic wood notes that are commonly used in “woody” scents today. Also, the sharp tart floral fruity notes with woods without any sweetness is not so common either. Todays scents with wood, florals, and fruit will have some sweetening notes component. This one is dry, no sweetness, and something different.

April Aromatics Pink Wood Pink wood is a floral wood for fall and winter. The woody elements spring to the forefront in my wearing then the rose, geranium adds spiciness and the oud add pungency. Labdanum adds a velvety depth and patchouli adds a herbal touch. This is a very base/heart note driven scent. Perfect for fall/winter. Notes: rose otto Turkey, Bulgarian rose absolute, Brazilian rosewood (sustainable), geranium bourbon (China), infused rose quartz, Earthy Notes: Indian and African sandalwood, Omani oud, oakwood, Spanish cistus labdanum, Indonesian patchouli

Sharp peony rosy woods. Wow, it's a real sharp sweet roses (Turkish & Bulgarian roses) with sharp peony and rosewood. Very rose wood with hints and traces of oud (European style oud). Amusing to the max, very sophisticated and contemporary classic. Very modern into a vintage Victorian era frame. I really like the essence of roses Tanja used. Very addictive. Edit (15th April 2020) The cool down is quite similar to "Detchema" by Revillon but quite lighter with that mild sweet and clean soapy musk. Superior vintage cooldown.

I am pretty ignorant when it comes to natural perfumes, all I know is that this is not the kind of scent that I enjoy. It's got a mossy, oily base that I just don't care for. I am also getting a hardware or paint resurfacing fluid vibe, like I am spending too long resurfacing furniture. But this may be because I'm so used to commercial and artificial scents that the more natural ones smell artificial on me.

Low sillage and longevity. A rose fragrance that is nice but I've had better. A little underwhelming. Received as a free sample, I won't be making a purchase.

Pink Wood is so well blended that to me it's difficult to pick out individual notes. It's sweet woody and very intensely floral which I love. It is soapy woody but you can't buy those soaps anymore because they are way too expensive to make! Maybe Harrods in London had scents like this for soap 100 years ago! Love this.
