Unter den Linden

I love this fragrance! It really does smell very natural and like being surrounded by linden blossom trees. It is so fresh and spring-like, like being at a park on a beautiful and sunny day while drinking freshly-made iced tea. I get a nice and zesty burst from the bergamot, which complements the linden very well. The mimosa adds a nice and sunny powderiness to the composition and the honey adds a nice dose of sweetness. The linden remains the star, though! I got about 5 hours of sunny yellow floral loveliness and the scent wafted about arm's length from my person, which is just right for me. It is very much present but not loud or overwhelming. It would make a great day-time fragrance for the spring and summer time and can be just sprayed on as a quick spritz... it wouldn't offend anyone I don't think! I would give Unter Den Linden by April Aromatics an 8.6/10 altogether. It is such a lovely fragrance and is definitely full-bottle worthy!

This grabbed my attention and held it for hours. It's a honeyed, pollen-rich linden blossom with perhaps Gardenia (although not in the notes) as well as a little bergamot. I don't get the Magnolia, but it never leaps out at me from anything at all. I love the idea of natural ingredients and expected this to fade fast, but it hasn't. I'm approaching the 3rd hour on my skin and it's still radiating softly outward, thrilling me. I got an almost visceral shiver when I first breathed this in. It has an energetic presence, as promised by the perfumer; reminds me of Bee but much, much better. Distillation: wild, honeyed florals pollen-rich yellow blossom giving me shivers

My block is lined with Linden trees that come into full bloom every June and perfume the entire neighborhood, so as I walked with my dog this morning I thought it appropriate to give my sample a full and proper wear today. Unter den Linden is the most realistic linden scent I’ve ever tried and more, I mean this smells JUST like the blooms on the trees outside! The honey gives it a welcome hint of sweetness and Bergamot adds a touch of freshness. It projects nicely and is still going strong 7 hours after application. Another one for the “want” list from this amazing artist! Bravo! 👏

Spring in Berlin, in a bottle. This is so beautiful. Opening with a citrus-like brightness, drying into a lovely bee pollen/linden blossom fragrance. As the other commenter stated, without the scratchy musks which seems to occupy every niche fragrance. This feels pure. Dare I say it's more accurate to the linden blossom, than say Floris' "Limes", which tends to be the whole tree and less sweetness. Again, a lovely, lovely scent 🤍.

I purchased a set of samples from April Aromatics a couple of years ago. Among the ten, Unter den Linden and Nectar of Love were the ones I liked most. When I was walking under the linden trees during my trip in Munich this summer, Unter den Linden crossed my mind. This natural perfume does capture the moment when the beautiful linden blossoms are blooming.

Unter den Linden is lovely, and of course very easy to wear as it's natural, refreshingly free of revolting cheap musks. It does give me a scent of lime blossom trees, but we all experience that differently don't we? I have lots at the top of my street in Edinburgh, really huge, old ones that go from witchy, black and twiggy in winter to full-on lush and heavy, with nectary blossoms by June. The same trees that are in Berlin no doubt, as they were part of European city planning a hundred years or so ago. Very much a honeyed, tea-like version of lime blossom/linden, Just as you'd expect from looking at the materials above. The mimosa gives a touch of dry chamomile flowers and ... voila - you have a good approximation of how lime blossom is experienced in real life. I mean, to be clear, this does have lime blossom in it, and I know exactly how the absolute smells as I have a little vial. The absolute is pretty intense. It's a bright grean floral, with tea-like aspects, very pretty, but the absolute doesn't give you that lime blossom tree experience. I need to go to Berlin in June (it's a city I really love, but I've only been there in winter) and experience the Linden trees there in June. I think it would be very like this perfume - dusty streets, a hint of honey, subtle florals - all that, and a Berlin cafe in the sun. Maybe April Aromatics were thinking of Proust's description of Linden tea and madeleines too. I'm sure they were. Pretty damn perfect!

I think this composition would have been a little better without the intense honey note. I simply adore linden blossom and this perfume does the linden note really well, but then it overpowers it with the honey sweetness. Linden is at its best when it's paired with subdued herbal, earthy notes, because then the shy meadowy sweetness of linden blossoms gets to shine in all its glory. Parfum D'Orsay's Tilleul does this so well by combining linden with hay. Unfortunately, Unter den Linden does not provide the contrast that would allow linden to take its rightful place at the center stage of this fragrance after the initial short-lived burst of linden mellows out. But at the end of the day this is still a beautiful perfume worthy of any linden-lover's consideration.

Linden perfection. If you want a Linden soliflore, this elixir is magical. I don't notice honey or magnolia or mimosa. They serve beautifully to showcase the linden. I get a hint of bergamot, at first, if I concentrate. Overall it's a realistic yet surreal linden blossom fantasy!

No honey whatsoever, and I do not get lime or mimosa, either.

This is an arresting soft floral fragrance that’s one of the best from the line. It’s hard to fathom how such an animated bouquet was compressed into this tiny bottle yet managed to retain all of its natural dynamics. When you wear it, it feels as though the florals are blooming on your skin and giving off scent far more powerful than they could ever achieve in nature. You get the big linden upfront, softened by a touch of fatty mimosa and just a slight hint of honey to straighten out some of the more pungent tones. The honey makes the scent feel slightly edible, but it never reaches the point of saturation in which the scent turns full-on gourmand. White florals are present, but mainly add fizz to the top, and the gardenia lends a slightly herbal nature to the overall composition. Unter den Linden feels the most minimal of the bunch, yet it’s the most evocative in the imagery it creates. Its vibrancy allows the wearer to study its development as though he/she were sitting in front of a real linden bush, inhaling deeply. I find this to be extremely effective, but as a meditative exercise rather than a functional perfume. It does lose steam within a few hours, but for the time you have it on your skin, it’s glorious. Scents such as this are the reason people pay top dollar for natural extractions, even if they’re not ideally suited for matters of longevity of projection. But when a scent’s this moving, who cares who else smells it? Although it’s certainly pricey, Unter den Linden is truly beautiful.

From a show of hands, who wants a Do-It-Yourself lime cleaner on your body? To be fair, this isn't totally a limefest. This could actually be a room deodorizer but the problem lies within the staying power(more on that later). This is the ubiquitous odor fumigating from any airport restroom USA. A little honey goes a long way but unfortunately, we weren't provided with a drop. This is a natural perfume...therefore, you already know the longevity and sillage will be compromised. Can I at least get a decent ass skin scent!? You won't be able to smell the creation unless you lift your arm noseward. No doubt this is one of the finalist for the "What the hell is this?" award especially considering the price. I'm just looking for a break in the clouds and I can't seem to find one when testing products from April Aromatics.

This is a stand out linden blossom. Just gorgeous. When I breathe this in I can smell clearly real linden blossom and thick juicy honey drenched mimosa that borders on gourmand with a hint of soft magnolia in the background. I cannot stop smelling this wow. It is really a beautiful experience to smell the combination of real essences of these florals so elegantly projected off your own skin. I do feel like I am wearing masterfully combined floral artwork. I don't know how she does it but how each scent presents the notes in such a dynamic way, what a gift! Just beautiful, calming and soothing scent.

This fragrance smells just like everything that's in it, with most emphasis on tart lime at first spritz. It dries down within 5 minutes to a dry and soft mimosa with bergamot nipping at its heels, and the flowery citrus nuances of magnolia blossoms drizzled with a bit of honey round it out beautifully. This is a superb blend. Each note integrates itself smoothly into the composition so that it is velvety, airy and quite aromatic on the skin. Sillage is light; longevity medium. It is a dry fragrance, not sweet nor sour, just right. Simple, elegant and wistful linden/mimosa goodness.

Unter den Linden It is a really beautiful almost-natural smelling fragrance, I read that it is inspired an area in Berlin Germany. It feels like I am in the warm sun "Under the Linden Trees". Linden Blossoms smell fresh, sweet with lemon-like nuances. Lush linden blossom with the intangible smell of the fluffy yellow mimosa flower and sweetly scented with rich honey, Unter Den Linden is beautiful yet simple at the same time. Longevity on my skin is surprisingly good and sillage is a little soft, making it nice to wear in the hot weather!

I absolutely love linden perfumes and so was really looking forward to trying this. Unfortunately, it is quite synthetic (perhaps from the honey and mimosa notes) and the honey note is quite cloying and ruins the linden. Best linden out there is still the glorious and affordable Oscar de la Renta Something Blue.

Unfortunately, this didn't work on me. I get a pleasant smell of dry hay, but it's laying in a sour, soggy mess, than just lets little glimpses of the hay through. Very unpleasant. No linden at all.

I liked Rosenlust so much that I thought I would try Unter den Linden. I was surprised to find that Unter den Linden is just as beautiful. Both sparkle with warmth and happiness.
