Bakhur

This was my first real fragrance purchase, as I got it while on vacation in Florence. The perfumery is absolutely beautiful. It’s definitely very expensive and I find it a little overpriced. I really love this scent though, the Frankincense is super strong. It’s perfect for cold weather or a night out. The bottle is very pretty too. Lasts moderately long.

Nondescript, dry, woodsy incense. Sticky sweet benzoin. Fairly obvious Iso-E-Super overdose. Extremely linear, not a particularly well-thought out composition. Moderate sillage. Generic cedar, vetiver drydown. I've smelled this scent a dozen times before elsewhere. Slightly upset on behalf of my Brother-in-Law who payed the outrageous price tag. Just get Bois d'Ascese by Naomi Goodsir.

So here’s a story : whilst visiting Florence with an American lover, we stumbled into this beautiful perfume house with all its wooden cabinets , old time charm and it was smelling so divine in there This was one of the first perfumes I was drawn to, I sprayed it on my skin and was immediately in love with it, the incense is so beautifully done and it envelops you with this chic ,rich aroma. I made my American lover smell this on me his reaction was :” we have to get this for you “ so we did and every time I put this perfume on I am catapulted back to that memory , to that space to that time with that person in Florence and I’m very grateful that this perfume is linked to that memory because it was a really lovely memory. It’s such a good perfume but it has also doubled in price over the years unfortunately. I still have some left in my bottle as I use it sparingly
