Ghroob

This perfume was love at first sniff. I'm not great at describing or identifying notes, but as soon as this went on my skin it became exquisitely smoky, sweet and woody with hints of incense. Bulgarian rose is my absolute favourite and I was astonished to find it as one of the notes in this perfume. I find comfort in this perfume, it's like a walking past a smouldering fire during the early autumn months in a woodland area. The smoke lingers in the air for a short while before settling down into a sweet, herbal, wood based fragrance. The longevity is 8+ hours and silage is very good too. I love wearing this oil and have received complements. A recent embrace with a long lost relative left me in no doubt as to how amazing this perfume is. She hugged me and whispered, 'ohh, you smell gorgeous'. Thanks to the wonderful Planet_X for gifting me a decant of this beautiful perfume.

This is a review for the oil version, not the spray. The notes here are slightly different to what's on Arabian Oud website. Notes from their website: TOP NOTES Oud, Saffron, Cinnamon, Orange Blossom HEART NOTES Jasmine, Gardenia, Bulgarian Rose BASE NOTES Sandal, White Amber, Cambodian Oud, Musk so I'm not sure where the note breakdown here came from, although it is very close to the original ones. This is one of the best representations of saffron in a perfume that I came across so far, saffron and mild non-skanky oud are all this perfume is about. There is a background of florals from orange blossom, jasmine, and very mild rose. It is quite creamy too from white amber, sandalwood, and white musk. to me, it is not cloying sweet, not too spicey, and not skanky or animalic. It is unisex and the oil version is real quality, not cheap either.

Ghroob opens strong, attacking my nose with sweet orange, smelling like home made (orange) marmalade flavoured lightly with cinnamon. It has a sticky, syrupy aura at first soon to turn to a darker, more mystique version of orange with hints of smoke, bitterness and light spices. This second phase is the true oriental aspect of Ghroob. Classy, almost royal, spicy orange with dusty flowery notes leading the way to the creamy, woody, smoky, ambery drydown that completes this long lasting and very enjoyable oriental journey. I don't smell oud in this concoction, at least not how I perceive it, especially after having recently tested many Ajmals. Only tamed mild woody notes supporting discreetly the florals. Ghroob lasts for more than 8 hours on my skin with persistent oriental sillage ! Very, very nice. 8/10

Oh, this is lovely! I bought a 1ml tester of the oil from ebay-I've been working my way through Al Rehab oils which are uniformly good, and this was offered by one of the Al-Rehab sellers. In the vial it smells very intense, and initially it is strongly medicinal and sort of metallic and cold and I was rather disappointed. But after about 15 minutes the warmth of the spice and the oud comes through. Its not spicy Christmas pudding spice, its soft and warm and cosy almost. There is a lovely floral background-the oud keeps it from being too feminine and overpowering, but its an elegant, slightly sweet and slightly rose combination. Not one note takes precedence, its all well balanced and smooth. It doesn't project far, but it lasts for hours-I only used one tiny drop of oil and it lasted 5 hours.

Orange blossom and saffron on top of musk. Aromatic cinnamon note as the backbone. I was at an Arabian Oud store and purchased this. I'd be hard pressed to say that this is an oudh fragrance but rather it is a refreshing and invigorating beautifully crafted perfume with excellent sillage. I purchased a small decant of Cambodian aged oud as well. I put the oud oil of my wrist then sprayed the Ghroob on top of it and I don't know how else to say it but holy $#!! People I'm not lying and I don't work for this company, this fragrance is just plain better than 90 percent of the western frags I've put my nose to and I've been into this for 35 years. In my opinion if you like fragrances this is a must have, it's pure art. Unfortunately no longevity so to speak.

Ghroob in oil concentration is like an almond essence with caramelised herbs on me. Very very almondy at the beginning and I have no idea, combination of which notes plays this trick with me, also it is like salty caramelised spices, - so not European kind of sensuality, yet attractive enough, provokes a bit, awakes curiosity. I can not smell oud, along with other notes - separately. On me it is: almond essence, strong vanilla, salty caramel, spices - in this order. I do like it a lot and find it very complicated, lasts forever on clothes, making my own wardrobe smell exotic.

I love ghoroub in the oil form. On me, it's a stonking great dollop of sweet honey, amber, salty caramel and lavender underpinned by warm sandalwood and just enough oud to give it a bit of heft. It's the kind of thing Bjork should be wearing in the video for Big Time Sensuality. Ghoroub really is an assault on the senses - but in a wonderful, warm, uplifting way. I honestly don't get much of the floral (well, maybe a little) or even the cinnamon when I wear it. One of my all time faves.

This is a masterpiece. White flowers, honey, amber and a round, soft yet distinct oud that gives a cuddly feeling. I have both the oil and the edp and very much prefer the spray thanks to its projection and sillage - it's a room filler and is by far my most complemented fragrance. I don't detect any vanilla in it but I sometimes layer it with vanillic scents like Sehr al Kalemat (black Kalemat) from Arabian oud and the result is gorgeous, sweet yet deep and very feminine.

Omg !! Finally fragrantica this is added. The most beautiful Oud Oil.. I adore it ! It's not heavy or enormous Oud at all, it's more on the side of (soft spice oriental Oud), the orange blossoms here are so pretty and makes the scent younger & more wearable for all ages, developed with the elegant saffron note. This works very well when mixing it with vanilla scents .. Personally, it makes my signature more beautiful & lasts longer.

Gorgeous fragrance. Verty warm and spicy. Very traditional yet sexy... Great when layered with oud oil... Long lasting and well balanced... Gives Tom ford a run for the money... It's the original Arabian blend... I can't count how many western parfume houses have copied this blend and quadrupled the price... Tom ford, este Lauder, etc.... This is the real deal, real oud not the synthetic version of it... Great price... Gorgeous

I have the oil. A thick smokey sexy oud scent. Its a bit salty. Sillage is huge for a CPO, much more projective than Kalemat amber and Asala both by Arabian Oud. A swipe of Ghroob equals to three swipes of Kalemat Amber and five swipes of Asala.

Juicy sunny orange blossom with a dark waxy musky base, reminiscent of real orange blossom absolute. An arabian narcisse noir but warmer, sweeter. This is for the perfume spray.

My mother bought this from her trip to the KSA. I have to say I'm blown away by this perfume. I see alot of people recommend the oil version. I'm definitely getting it. :)

one of the greatest mixed oud you can get at least from what i tried recommend it for everyone.

My review is for the oil version. This was a blind buy and the opening is not something I usually like a orange blossom and really quite strong but nice, then after about an hour it goes into a beautiful spicy cinnamon with still the orange in the background. Really quite happy with this blind buy. Performance is sold 8-10 hours Sillage is not the best but i think oils in general are more personal and for the wearer to enjoy for themselves.

It is nice, but too much marzipan on my skin. It can be described as a sweet white floral with a somewhat gourmand touch. Not much oud comes to the fore.

i personally do not use sprays at all... the idea of covering myself or my cloth with a substance that is consist of 90% of alcohol does not please me... anyway... i will share my opinion on the same perfume in a pure oil version. it is delicious =) all notes that i like are there in a perfect balance... amber, saffron, cinnamon, roses, spices, sweets and of course ouuuuud =) i believe that it is typical, sweetish, fruity cambodian oud at the base. it gives a strong/rich/royal Middle Easter character to the blend. you will never confuse it with ... lets say indian type of attar, yet the ingredients are almost the same. this is a good choice for those who want to jump in to oudy/royal/unique type of scents ...

Im so upset that they got rid of the beautiful oil bottle this comes in. This sits very regal on the vanity. Both my husband and i use this and it’s just a magical scent, unlike anything i’ve ever had before. It opens up a little spicy and dries down amberry and sweet. The white flowers while detectable, takes a back seat here, making this juice extremely unisex. The oud is subtle and the blend is supreme. I especially love the dry down.

It is a wonderful scent, very earthy. For me it is like a honey, round and sweet but not overpowering. I am american living in the middle east and given this scent as a gift to many friends and family. Everyone has loved it. It is not a heavy Oud and definitely not like anything in the western market. It is very reasonably priced in the middle east for what the high quality scent that it is.

I do not smell oud at all and I have quite a collection. I do smell the sweetness of the orange blossom, mingled with the vanilla, jasmine and cinnamon. Definitely leans towards the female side of unisex perfumes. A disappointment for me but if you like juicy fruit chewing gum in a perfume form, this is right up your alley.

i only want to advice... GO for the oil version... not spray. and just to point out, the loose version is very different, much lighter i believe. better to get pre packed oil.
