Hypnotic Oud

Arabiyat Prestige - Hypnotic Oud Opening: The opening is quite different from By The Fireplace. I get less clove, more saffron and an underlying sweetness coming from amber/caramel. For the first 20-25 mins, smelling it up close genuinely reminds me of Hawan Samagri (sacred fire offering mix - herbs, spices and woody smell mixed with incense) with a slight camphor-like chillness seeping through. At this stage, it doesn't even smell like a proper perfume. Once it settles, things start making sense and the BTF DNA becomes much more evident. I'd say around 75% close. The remaining difference comes from the higher oil concentration and the smoother overall feel. Drydown: After around 40 mins is where it starts getting really noice. The amber isn't thick or syrupy. Instead, it has a smooth woody freshness which I believe is mostly Cashmeran. Vanilla starts seeping through and acts as the base, but surprisingly the sweetness feels like it's coming more from the amber and Cashmeran than the vanilla itself. Also, despite the name, I don't really get any prominent oud here. Same goes for By The Fireplace. The woodiness is definitely there, they both are woody but not OUDy. Occasion: Very versatile IMO. Works almost anywhere as long as the temperature isn't too high. Perfect for dinner dates, restaurant runs, evening drives or casual night outs. I actually prefer this in closed environments because it's not a loud perfume. Definitely not a party fragrance. Longevity & Sillage: Projects well for around 1.5 to 2 hours, enough for someone sitting next to you to notice. After that, it becomes an intimate scent and stays close to the skin for another 4 to 5 hours, giving me around 6 to 7 hours of total wear. Sillage isn't huge either. It doesn't travel far but keeps a very noice scent bubble around you, which is honestly how I prefer this DNA to perform. Overall: If you like By The Fireplace but want something a bit smoother, less smoky and slightly more wearable and slightly sweeter than OG, Hypnotic Oud is definitely worth trying. Just don't buy it expecting an oud bomb or beast mode projection. It shines in close encounters rather than making an announcement when you enter the room.

Way better than Ameer Al Oud and Majed Al Sultan cleaner, higher quality, no harsh alcohol or that sharp black pepper hit. Got that smooth smoky vibe, and for some reason, I’m catching rosted chestnut vibes even though they ain’t listed. Just wish it stuck around longer

I was collecting beast mode only Arabian fragrances and fell for the hype of this one. I had to do a performance test to believe this is indeed a poor fragrance. Atleast nowhere near my Alharmain amber oud, Rasasi Hawas, Supremacy in oud or even Khamrah. Shocking!!!
