Mahd Al Dhahab

This is said to be a copy of Burntostandout Drunk Lovers. I haven’t tried that one, but do I really need to? Considering how many sweet and boozy fragrances are already out there, I’m not sure it would bring anything drastically new to the table. And also, there's THIS now. At first spray, I get a whole lot of fruity nuances—grapefruit, bergamot, and berries. The ginger fooled me during my first impression; I thought it was mint. It adds an extra layer of freshness and sparkle to the composition. When Mahd Al Dhahab settles, it transitions into a creamy mid. The aromatic elements become more pronounced, still layered with those fruity top notes—but now, it’s as if the fruits have fermented and turned boozy. I love this phase, especially because this is where the amber and vanilla start to shine. The vanilla, amber, and booze anchor the entire scent composition all the way to the dry down, where I start to pick up woody nuances from sandalwood and patchouli. It’s a very seductive scent. It reminds me of sweet, spicy fragrances, though I still can’t pin it to any particular one—it remains unique enough. There’s also a distinct tonka bean presence in the dry down, which gives it a designer-like feel. Very smooth blend. Perfect for date nights and evening events. Cold weather elevates this fragrance and makes it shine like the glorious masterpiece it otherwise couldn't attain. Glorious, glorious! Perfectly unisex. Good longevity of 7–10 hours, with solid projection.

I've had this a couple of weeks now and straight out of the box it smells really bright, fresh, sweet and spicy with a bit of booze in it and with the bergamot and citrus together it makes it pop but not in a freshie way, it's more juicy and is also very well balanced and it's an all year round day or night fragrance. I don't get the oud, and the amber is there and the vanilla and all of this seems to take it to a surprisingly fresh drydown if that's what it is as it doesn't change too much from start to finish. It doesn't smell like anything I have in my collection of 230 fragrances. I sampled Drunk Lovers at a store yesterday and this is very similar to the nose, the opening was very close however I couldn't get a drydown of that as the bottle was almost empty and I couldn't spray it on my arm other than the initial spritz in the air. That being said, regardless, this is a really bright, almost sparkly fragrance that has depth, makes you want to keep going back for more without being heavy and it is wearable anytime. I don't know how long it will last on others as I only get a few short hours on my skin but at the price of $30 that I paid, I will happily reapply regularly. It may be fairly linear as well which I am happy about as the opening and mid (or drydown) is for me, a happy place.

My bottle of Mahd Al Dhahab is around 3 months old, and honestly this one is so hard to explain because it doesn’t really smell like anything I’ve smelled before. At first, when I sprayed it on a tester strip, it slightly reminded me of Althaïr because of that vanilla in the opening. But then I sprayed it on skin and it became a completely different fragrance. Like, after around 2 minutes into the drydown, I started getting this honey like smell for some reason, and that’s when it became way more interesting to me. This is not one of those simple “vanilla sweet fragrance” type of scents. It feels complex, warm, sweet, and kind of addictive, but in a way that’s hard to put into words. I don’t even know how to describe it properly, I just know it smells amazing. It has that type of smell where you keep going back to your wrist . For now, the performance is decent but not crazy yet. Longevity and projection are around a 7.3/10 for me, but I really feel like this one has big potential if it macerates more. The smell itself is honestly a 9.8/10 for me. I’m already loving it more and more, and I feel like with time it could turn into something insane. This is definitely one of those fragrances I kind of want to gatekeep.

I tried the majority of Middle Eastern brands, but this is my first time I ever smelled anything from the house of Arabiyat Prestige. Have to admit, it’s the love at the first smell. The quality of the ingredients are niche level. None of that synthetic opening that is common with these types of fragrances, and the atomiser on this bottle is like a shower. Never smelled the BTSO Drunk Lovers, but to my nose, this smells like if the Azzaro the most wanted and DG Devotion decided to have a child. You can clearly smell the citruses here, but they are perfectly blended with vanilla, so you will never get that bitter harshness of lemon here. The scent is pleasant, smooth, warm, nothing too overwhelming. The performance for now is 4-6 hours, projection is moderate, believe it will get better with maturation, but even now it’s pretty good. If you sprayed this juice on my skin and said to me that this is some niche fragrance that costs over 200-300$ I would believe you without a doubt. It’s well made, the quality is top tier, performance is pretty good. Fellas if you want a calm, warm, not in your face scent, get this, you will not regret it. This will not be my last purchase from this house for sure. 10/10 for me

I initially had low expectations for this fragrance. When I heard it had "Altaiar" DNA, I wasn't thrilled, as I’m not a fan of that style. But wow, I was truly impressed with the blend. The quality of the juice is fantastic. The Experience: I put it on just 30 minutes before walking into a restaurant and got two compliments from complete strangers. The ones who didn’t compliment me still wanted to get a sniff! Scent Profile: The opening smells totally like sweet vanilla from Stronger With You Intensely. After about 20 minutes, is when i fell in love with this. You get that sweetnesses and bitterness from vanilla with a undertone of musky sweet oud. It’s a pretty unique combination that’s hard to explain but incredibly pleasant. Performance: The projection is decent; I don't like loud fragrances, so 3-4 sprays do the trick for me. It projects well for about 3 hours, then dries down to a skin scent that lasts for almost 8-10 hours. One thing is that this is not something you would enjoy on a really hot sunny day. Final Thoughts I really enjoyed the experience of wearing this. Trust me, I own over 400 fragrances, and this has to be among my top 10 for sure.
