Omniya

I don't know how guidance smells like but Omnia is one of my favorites of all times. Only beaten by La Belle! I own around 70 perfumes and smelled quite a few more along my life. What a perfume... Nutty, fruity, fresh but deep. It's very "girl of now" type of fragrance. You can smell the fruits, the flowers, Wich are some tropical flowers to my nose all perfectly blended in a background of some sweet nutty woods. Projection is moderate and longevity in my skin was 6 hours.

This is a middle eastern gem. Its sweet, nutty, floral and incensy, such a smooth blend also. I like to wear on formal occasions, its oppulent and chic. Office safe (if you dont overspray). I dont like rose notes but the rose here is not annoying to me, it does not overpower the rest of the notes and I can feel a lot of nuttiness (which i love).

Let's start with that I haven't tried Guidance 46, but I've tried the regular Guidance, and I did not like it. This smells nothing like Guidance. I tried it several times, and it was so strange on me. I actually think the base note smells like caramel. The top notes are all over the place: fresh, woody, plasticky, green. From the initial half an hour it's really unclear where Guidance is going. On me, it ends up on nutty and woody, slightly bitter, osmanthus, and the pear smells more like... plum, maybe? With a slight plastic note and some kind of bitter, medicinal note. The medicinal note kept getting stronger, which I have a hard time imagining anyone would like. The final drydown was burnt caramel antibiotics. Omniya is different to Guidance. Upon the first spray, I do sense a fresh pear smell, but when it settles, it becomes unidentifiably fruity. It smells like there's something else fruity in there, but it may also be me who isn't very familiar with the smell of.... labdanum? It's more like a sweet, fruity saffron, I think. Nothing is medicinal about this perfume. It is also nutty, and very, very slightly insence-y. There seems to be some spicy notes in this too - it kinda shares a little bit of the same DNA as Lattafa's Khamhah has, giving it almost a slight wintery vibe. The labdanum and nutty notes in this give it a full-body-ness. The caramel also turns milky on my skin after about half an hour. The fruity top notes create a pleasant veil. Overall, I can definitely imagine myself wearing this, which I absolutely can't do with Guidance, which makes me believe they are not similar. It's complex, very well blended, very feminine, and sweet. You have to like slightly thick (because of the nuts), sweet, fruity, caramel-like perfumes to enjoy this. It's a good one though, if you are into these kind of notes.

I don't currently have Guidance, ut a sample of Guidance 46 and a bottle of Omniya. These two are not the same, at least. They are definitely same family, but Omniya is closer to Guidance. The 46 version, in comparison is less fruity. Omniya is kind of a pear, caramel, fruity, with hazelnut and a very slight minty accord. Guidance 46 is quite a bit smoother, more nutty, more woody, and with a more prominent rose. I don't smell any rose in Omniya, actually... Omniya is fun, while Guidance 46 is more serious and sultry. But if you're on a budget and want a day-time perfume, Omniya is actually probably better for that - the deep woodiness of Guidance 46 is more evening-appropriate to my nose.

Not as nutty/woody as Guidance, much more fruity. Big dose of pear and an apricot/peachy vibe (from the osmanthus I assume). The smokiness from the incense is pleasant. Overall a fruity, warm, smooth fragrance. I look forward to wearing it for most of the year, except for late spring and summer. Probably a bit too heavy for that :)
