Mango Affogato

One of the reasons for the negative reviews on here may be the marketing and packaging of this fragrance. Given the Arabiyat Sugar branding (rather than Arabiyat Prestige) and the cartoonish bottle, some buyers are likely to expect a sweet gourmand fragrance, which this definitely is not. This is a green/spicy/woody mango scent that leans mature and masculine. I happen to like it very much, but I understand the confusion if that wasn't what you were expecting. The mango smells slightly underripe, which I find appealing. This could easily have come from Stephane Humbert Lucas. A niche-like scent at a low price that is woefully mis-branded.

f you're approaching Mango Affogato expecting a tropical fruit ice cream with a sticky syrup drizzle, you will be delightfully disappointed. This fragrance is an homage to the Italian dessert, Affogato, which literally means "drowned." A traditional Affogato features cold ice cream that is immediately "drowned" by a shot of hot, bitter espresso, creating a brilliant contrast. This scent captures that complexity: instead of simple sweetness, you get the challenge of the hot, spicy element—notes like Saffron and clove—that dominate the cooling mango base. The opening is immediately peppery and almost dusty (likely the moss), offering a realistic sense of mango skin rather than the juicy flesh. This fragrance succeeds because it avoids the synthetic sugar common in most dessert gourmands; it's a perfect choice for those who find other sweet scents too cloying. The "affogato" concept truly shines as the rush of dark tea and spices creates a deliberate hot-and-cold textural contrast, with the mango lending a creamy, golden body that stays firmly in the background, serving as a beautiful support note for the earthy, exotic spices. The dry-down is warm, sophisticated, and utterly unisex, settling into a sharp, spiced wood skin scent. It’s an understated yet sophisticated textural experience: cold and hot, sweet and bitter. For an extra boost, since the classic Affogato involves coffee, I layered Mango Affogato with the French Vanilla Latte from the same Arabian Sugar line, and the combination absolutely amplified the mango note while maintaining the sophisticated spice.

I thought this was dogwater but I just go noseblind to it. I put it on at 3PM, it's 9:30PM now and I can still get whiffs of it from time to time. Now, back to the fragrance itself: at first it's like smelling fresh mango peels, then it gets...different. I get this leather and mango accord, I dig it a lot but I know for sure that some people might find this plasticky or rubbery. Don't buy it expecting it to be gourmand or ultrasweet, it's totally not. 100% more masculine leaning, I can't picture my GF wearing this. I also don't think you can wear this in summer, it's too weird and somewhat cloying to wear, spring/fall/winter are where it shines.

This is a very weird scent. It has so many undertones...if you blind buy this scent thinking this is a creamy fruity gourmand you will be very disappointed. This opens with a note of mango. It is not particularly sweet or creamy, just loud and fresh. Like tart mango. Very soon you get a note of coffee...black coffee...that has been spiced with saffron, cloves and nutmeg...pay attention you will get this notes coming in and out for hours... You also get a very green and piercing combo of patchouli and cypriol...sharp and very aromatic, even a little mentholated...green, sharp, herbaceous. This note becomes dominant. The drydown is woody, mossy and leathery... maybe a bit earthy. So, this could pass as a niche. It is a Frankenstein scent or a master piece? I don't know. I am smelling this and I don't know if I hate it and want to put it in the trash or if I want to keep smelling it to see all these changes and notes coming in and out. I am not sure this is wearable. But it seems they put so many things in here...I wonder what is the niche scent they are trying to dupe. I don't know. I can't hate it because it seems well done...but I can't say I can wear it either.

Nice clove and mango opening that is actually not the sour mango kind for once, once it settles you smell the leather, the vetiver and something earthy/smoky? Maybe it's the moss but I don't know. Anyway on paper that mango note stays strong throughout, not sure on skin. Personally not a perfume I'd wear but I don't mind having my man wear this.

This is extremely similar to Montale's Dallachai. I would say at least 90-95% identical.

I love mango, and nutmeg and clove but i do not understand the leather...to me it smells like rubber tires, new ones mixed with a sweet car freshner.The opening is indeed a beautiful ripe mango, but the dry-down is mostly leather and the mango is nowhere to be found, just a whiff that is more like peachy, and i get some cilantro which i hate. So for me it is a no.I do recommend buying a decant before commiting to a full bottle.Also it does feel more masculine.

This is unfortunately not for me, it begins with nice spicy mango 🥭 but then turns into very woody and patchouli. Its very strong, strongest out of all sugar lines releases. I think it would be great on men but not for me. I also smell that saffron like in Chai fragrance from Montale.

This is not good at all. I think it might be the clove and its all I smell. I've going to put this in a very dark corner for a year and see what happens.

This fragrance is most definitely not for me. It starts with a sour unripened mango scent, not even a hint of sweetness. There is a constant smell or coriander (cilantro). Then heads into an intense woodsy, leathery fragrance. The sourness and cilantro choking smell still remains though. I have scrubbed my hand 7 times so far and the potent cilantro smell still remains, giving me a massive headache. This is a hard no for me!

Upon unboxing, the very first moment felt almost intimate. As soon as I lifted the cap and took a sniff straight from the atomiser, I was met with this soft, creamy mango: lush, smooth and almost sun‐warmed. It set me up to expect something bright and gourmand. But the first full spray surprised me. Instead of that creamy fruit opening I anticipated, the fragrance came alive with a bold wave of deep woods and a leathery mango accord. It was a little disorienting at first, an unexpected contrast that felt almost rugged and ripe at the same time. For a moment I wasn’t sure what to make of it but stepping back and letting it settle on skin made all the difference. The oddness became intrigue and the intrigue slowly transformed into appreciation. My bottle is fresh, produced on 11/25, right at release, so I know it still has plenty of time to mature and fully macerate. I’m genuinely looking forward to watching how that mango‐wood interplay evolves as the juice settles into itself. Interestingly, I sprayed Lush Supermilk on top of it and it softens into a beautiful and pleasant soft mango with hint of leather.

How people get leather from this? This is 90% just mango. I like it way more than god of fire, Beautiful fragrance for spring and summer

I actually really like this scent, its super interesting but Im not sure if it would be wearable for me.
