Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 139 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased August 2019 The beach in a bottle. Sauvage STOLE this shamelessly; the vibe, almost the lot! All Dior had done to make it theirs was "class it up" a bit in the most generic of ways. I already had tested out Sauvage at this time, which was basically the first revival of interest in that scent within this scene, otherwise I never would've heard about it. Some things refuse to completely fall off and somehow Sauvage survived culture death. 2015 was a different time in modern history. Deal with it. But how can we forget the insane Aramis Adventurer? It has the seaweed, the salt that was copied soon after. This ain't a masterpiece, I don't believe anything that smells like a disgusting place, which is most beaches, can be a masterpiece. After all Phoenix Shaving's The Beach (which I like) actually smells like Ard Al Zafaraan Oud 24 Hours which copies Black Orchid (hate the latter two), so what's that about? A lot of shameless copying going on by strange names. I like clones too so you've likely missed my point. Anyway I really don't like the normal Aramis, so this will have to do. And being me several years ago I thought I had chucked this out but no I found it again hiding a few years ago and it's going nowhere. This isn't fresh, it's more spicy and ocean logged wood. Along with this you'll also need Houbigant Navigator.

Picked this up years ago. It’s been collecting dust so I decided to polish the rest of it off. I’m not sure why people vote this one as close to Bvlgari Aqua. I feel that’s setting others up for disappointment. You can definitely pick up the geranium, citrus, and the sour notes of the sea weed. It’s a citric aquatic that smells a lot like other generic citrus aquatics. It’s not bad in any way, it’s just that the dry down has this sour type of feel. Naturally I thought maybe the bottle had gone bad but I had another one that was sealed. They were both the exact same. I do love the lavender in this one though. It’s a 6/10 for me. Update: So I had to come back and add some more information. Rather than re-write my review, I wanted to leave it in just to show you how confusing it is, or I am. What I thought started off as an aquatic has dried down into a green type of scent. Any experienced nose will recognize whiffs is polo green from time to time. It’s just a confusing scent to me. It smells of everything and nothing I’ve smelled before at the same time. Boosting this one up to 7/10 because I find it weirdly unique.

This is nice and clean and sporty. It's a casual wear or office wear fragrance. If this is for adventure, it's for a dad wth his family while they explore the hills along the coast. Notes are balanced as with most aramis. Longevity and protection are not very heavy, preforming like eau de colognes and disappearing by the 5th hour. The citrus are the most prominent notes, however the blend of woods and florals transform this into a soapy Irish springs deal as it dries. It reminds me of fancy hotel soaps, and I feel like Traveler would be a good name for it. It's more bright than bitter on me and the seaweed added to the blend does make a shoutout to the bvlgari aqva line, however, it only contributes a salty element and is way more muted here. From my collection this is an aquatic take on English Laundry Notting Hill. I like it a lot and will wear it on warm and hot days. Really good blind buy if you like aqva and aqva marine from bvlgari along with a traditional masculine dry down of something like Paco Rabanne, which I do!

Adventure is for me a really great fragrance. For start to finish it never disappoints you and the longevity is pretty good on me, up to 6+ hours but the projection is about average. I have a large collection of Aramis fragrances because I have been a fan since the mid 70's when I bought a 60ml of the classic original Aramis and I have to say, they never fail to come up with something special. Adventurer is no different and it's certainly on my rotation during the Spring and Summer months more than perhaps some of the others, but it can be worn anything because it smells so good. You won't be disappointed with Adventure and in part it's quite unique! You can't help but to appreciate this great fragrance, I love it every time I put it on! 8.5 out of 10 for me! A brilliant addition to the Aramis family! The notes like seaweed, lavender, wormwood, geranium blend nicely, creating a smell that is unique, rich with character and at the same time reminiscent in a way to the original Aramis. In fact, it does have a quality that gives Adventurer a feel like it's a perfume from the 60's (in a good way). However, as a result, it's not something that I could see a teen pulling off. Adventurer is for gentlemen that are a bit more mature, maybe 30 and up. Overall, Adventurer is a flanker done right, by having a style of it's own yet remaining loyal to it's predecessor. It's a scent that I would say has the guts to stand out in the crowd of today's modern perfumery, which at times, does get redundant. My overall rating: 8.5/10

Much like Aramis Ice, Bermuda Tonic, and perhaps classic Aramis itself, this is not a pretty-boy fragrance. Like those, it's also a unique and interesting one that may take the wearer some time to warm to. What I really like about this fragrance is that it's highly refreshing without resorting to being fruity, making it an alternative and very good summer daytime fragrance. At the same time its spiciness definitely makes it an all year round fragrance that is versatile enough for casual/sport and formal/office use. Adventurer continues the impressive reputation of Aramis in producing quality/interesting/edgy, well-priced fragrances for men. Performance is decent with a soft sillage, and frankly, I love it.

I collect and use mainly aquatic colognes. This was a very welcome addition to my collection. It stands apart from my many other aquatic themed scents. This is aquatic where the seaweed note stays the duration and continues to make its presence known. Lemon and bergamot add collectively but never stay outside of its blended addition. The herbal notes freshen the seaweed and cedar so the seaweed does not turn rancid or sour. I got a good 7 hrs out of this spraying 3 times from the sample atomizer. Definitely not a freshie or blue themed aquatic.

Good stuff. True to the Aramis style in being slightly old school but never vulgar yet always sophisticated. A fresh scent with a classy backbone for a guy 30+. Reminds me of better days and better tastes. My fav Aramis along with Havana and Devin. Bravo.

Mainly a salty, slightly tart seawater aroma backed by woods, which is much more pleasant than that may sound. I see it as mostly for hot weather but if worn in the cold, it would smell downright icy. Longevity is suprisingly good.

I kinda disagree with the other comments, I quite like it, very fresh and aquatic, lasted well on my skin. A nice change for Aramis, it's not heavy and spicy, it's fresh, pretty good.

Adventurer is definitely an Aramis fragrance. Somehow there’s just this Aramis ‘note’ that you can recognized blindfolded. AA is a fairly common aromatic type of fragrance - a guy’s outdoor, woodsy, flannel type of fragrance - a bit of spice and a floral arrangement undergirded by a wood base. This is nothing groundbreaking, but I do enjoy it. First, the longevity on this is excellent. Sillage is also just right. It’s not overly strong but it’s got enough kick that other people will notice. It can be worn mostly anywhere, but depending on where I’m going with it, I’d be careful with the amount I use. The initial opening of the lid will give you a strong cedar smell. The opening is a spicy, slightly fruity mix. It’s what I would call a strong, manly type of smell. Very nice. You will notice the projection is fairly heavy. After awhile, a darker, soft, mild and sweet set of floral notes take over. I can smell both the lavender and geranium and they both are pretty evenly balanced. This is countered by an inherent bitterness in the wormwood. And when the fragrance settles down there is a very interesting seaweed and wood mix. All in all I think Adventurer is a bit on the common side, but I have no qualms with it. You might want to give it a try if you don’t own anything like it.

I like Adventurer a lot. First of all, I see no resemblance to Bvlgari Aqua whatsoever. There's something sweet in here, I can't tell by the note breakdown what it could be. That slight sweetness is combining with the seaweed I guess and creating this vibe almost like ambroxan vibe. Almost but not quite. It seems like a more mature relative to other blue scents out there like Dylan Blue. So if those other ambroxan bombs are too loud for you then Adventurer might be worth checking out. With about four sprays I get good lasting power and noticeable presence. Noticeable but not as loud as Sauvage or similar others. I'm an Aramis fan but I'll say that they are fragrances that I wear for myself. Most are not very likely to get you compliments but I think Adventurer could be different.

Aramis Adventurer is a very fresh fragrance that is quite restrained and inoffensive. It is a nice scent to wear for work as it is clean but also quite masculine. Like "Gentleman" and "Impeccable" Adventurer is not the silage and longevity monster that the earlier fragrances from this house are known for, however, it still has that distinct Aramis quality. As modern trends tend to lean towards more restrained fragrances this is probably deliberate. To sum up, I like it, it's quite refreshing to have a clean fragrance with a bit of bite without having to go down the citrus aquatic road.

This really surprised me. The lavender and herbal quality of this makes it more original than most aquatics, the performance isn't bad and it's very inexpensive. An excellent cheapie that most don't know about.

A toned down, less metallic version of Azzaro Chrome, with added salty Seaweed and herbal touch. 50/50 unique/designer. High heat compatible. Gentlemanly. No performance issues on clothes from my 2016 batch.

Not your typical aquatic fragrance - and that ́s a good thing! I do get the Aramis family vibe but uhhhhh it should have been stronger! It dries off to quickly :) But a good spring/summer scent :)

I love this fragrance. Very fresh and clean for daytime use but the longevity stinks, does not last more than a few hours for me.

Generic shower gel vibe with some seaweed smell. Not bad, but don't expect anything groundbreaking

A very fresh scent with aquatic notes and light woodiness. I have to say this does not last on my skin and I made a mistake buying this. I'm sure the tester I tried was much stronger than the actual bottle I bought. It's a nice fragrance but doesn't last on my skin which is a pity. Perfect for the office or the gym. This should have been release for the spring early summer it would be perfect in warmer weather.

Fresh spicy, clean, aquatic tones to my nose. Quite sharp initially, but much more settled on dry-down with the patchouli adding a nice background twist and depth which will keep you wanting to re-sniff. I'm not an aquatic-vibe kind of guy, putting this in the same field as Davidoff's Cool Water. That said, its long lasting, with moderate sillage and is of a quality you'd expect from Aramis.

This one pretends to have more character than its unimpressive older brother Gentleman, but this first impression doesn't last. There is a hint of a classic undertone in it, which at least makes sense when using the strong Aramis brand. Neverthelss, at the end of the day this one is not adventerous at all and hence suitable for poseurs only. **

The box and the bottle are exquisitely beautiful. I absolutely love Aramis as a brand. Original Aramis is my signature scent that expresses my character. But Adventurer? Frankly, I don't know what to think. The opening is a pleasant blast of citrus and lavender. I can pick up the seaweed, and it's maybe the most interesting thing about this fragrance. The drydown is exceedingly ordinary. I would describe it as saltwater and skin scent. It certainly is a more realistic type of aquatic; so if you love the sea, this is not a bad choice for you at all. Adventurer is a departure from the gaudy, fruity aquatics that are usually labeled "blue". I got this as a reward for an achievement, so I will *Will* myself to love it! At first smell, though, I find it too subtle for my tastes. Aramis is a byword for potent masculinity. The marketing and the bottle led me to believe it was more bold and masculine than it really is. It's not un-masculine, but the apple has fallen far from the tree of granddaddy Aramis. Hopefully, the heat of summer will bring out more of what the perfumer intended and I will understand what makes what makes Adventurer "Adventurous". UPDATE: after experimenting with aquatics designed for summer wear, I have come to realize that I just don't really jive with them. Part of me wonders "why should I have to switch from my favorites in the heat?". Conventional wisdom says many fragrances become overpowering in hot weather and aquatics are designed to be less offensive than say, musks or chypres like Aramis. However, after sampling several and wearing a few, I actually find some aquatics MORE cloying in the heat than some of my "fall scents". If there is no gender in fragrance, I don't see why there has to be a season either. A fragrance either works in the heat or it doesn't. One of the most overpowering summer scents is Azzaro Chrome. I don't see that as any less strong than original Aramis! So my final conclusion is that yes, Aramis Adventurer is an aquatic, yes it is a summer scent. But it's supposed to be an "Aramis" aquatic. This sounds like a contradiction in terms. You can't get much further from Cool Water than Aramis! But I think the people at The House of Aramis have done a good job at creating an aquatic that is still very much on brand. It REALLY only works well when it's very hot and sweaty outside. It's too subtle in anything below 85 degrees Fahrenheit. 90 plus is better. It brings a summery aquatic vibe for a man who thinks Azzaro Chrome is too unisex and that Cool Water is too generic. I've come to appreciate that about it and feel it more or less deserves to be "Summer Aramis". But would I wear it any other time of year? Almost certainly not. The performance is too poor in cooler temperatures.

I’m a great appreciator of all of the Aramis fragrances I have experienced. Of course the incredible original (in its vintage form) is the best but I also enjoy Devin, Tuscany, 900 and Havana. Each is unique in its own right but each possesses a certain masculine Aramis style. Now here is Adventuror. Simply put I am not a fan of the ubiquitous “fresh” fragrances that are liberally spritzed about for some time now. Being that Adventuror gives away its membership in that club by the blue hue of the juice I admit that even with the Aramis name I had my apprehensions. Well after using it I can say that this entry by Aramis is preferable to all the wimpy fresh / aquatic fragrances that followed Davidoff Cool Water ( including the insipid current version of Cool Water). The problem is that Adventuror still has that irritating “fresh smell” that fragrances like Aspen, Sierra and the like have. What is it? It’s not lavender, some sort of synthetic White Musk? I thought that I would experiment with layering to improve this fragrance. First I thought I could take the nasty “freshness” by layering with the natural lavender heavy Pour Un Homme de Caron. The “stinky” lavender improved it but not enough and the combination made the vanilla jump out. Next I tried layering with Jacomo de Jacamo and this was wonderful. I was not entirely sure about this mixture as Adventuror supposedly has seaweed as an element ( although I actually live near the ocean and there is nothing seaweed like in the smell of Adventuror). Jacomo’s clove, ash tray and sage/rosemary accords tamed the “freshness” and combination is outstanding. Together they form a warm and aromatic fragrance that is spicy and herbal with some floral and citrus backup. The high shrill fresh note becomes muted into a supporting note that is now pleasant. Give it a try.

Upon the first spray of this scent I felt kind of disappointed, not that it's bad just not what I had anticipated. I somehow pictured the sea, with a blue somewhat salty vibe. However, so far at least, I find Aramis Adventurer to be closer to an aromatic with some spice (in this case black pepper). To me it's of that class of fragrance in which it's not so easy to pick out individual notes (bear in mind I may need more time with it) but rather it is an overall aroma, a fairly linear one, which doesn't really bring much to mind at all. This has little in common with the original Bvlgari Aqva however the sadly reformulated and incredibly soft Bvlgari has a comparable scent to this if you spray Adventurer on a paper strip and smell it a few days later. To my nose Adventurer is not an aquatic fragrance at all, it's a decent enough masculine aromatic that may well appeal to both mature and more youthful folk, it shouldn't upset anyone but at the same time I can't see it turning many heads either. I'll spend some more time with it but right now I feel as if Aramis could've been a bit more daring or dare I say it 'adventurous' with this one and thrown caution to the wind (perhaps even some sea salt!) and they may have been onto something special.

I love this scent! So basic, yet so classy!! I know Adventure has it’s retractors, and to a certain degree, I get it...but honestly, their loss is my gain. Kind of like how you’re really into the new girl at work, but your guy friends scratch their head not getting the attraction because they’re too blind to see, lol. If I strolled past a guy in the hallway at work without ever having smelled this scent before, the first thought to my mind would be, “Now there goes a dude who’s never bounced a check in his life”. It’s simplistic sophistication here, folks, with that classic Aramis DNA that would especially be appreciated by men over 35. If you’re looking for something that doesn’t scream “sheeple” or “mall boy”....something that’ll make you feel happy, fresh and confident in Spring, right into the dog days of Summer, I suggest you give this one a shot. Like most warm weathers, longevity almost always seems to be lacking, but for the price point this is a diamond in the rough. Just respray around mid day. Enjoy! (8/10)

The scent is fine but I expected more from Aramis. I believe Adventurer should of been more daring and as others have stated here, they too expected more of that salty ocean vibe with perhaps some seaweed and driftwood notes. That's what I expected with a name like Adventurer. But it just smells too generic, not entirely, but certainly nothing memorable or something that would garner compliments. At least not in my world. In short, it's a blue sporty scent that is suited for a tad older gentleman in his 30's and up. Rather safe fragrance and versatile to wear all year. Although you'd probably get bored of it quickly. In the end, Aramis Pour Homme still reigns the cologne king of the Aramis house. In fact the Aramis house has yet to release a contender to it's original masterpiece.

A really pleasant, blind buy surprise. I always look for the positives first and I have to say this is great. It cuts a balanced line between "Blue" and "Barber Shop", imho. Aramis Original - meets - Azzarro Chrome - meets- Dylan Blue........sort of.......yet doing its own thing. You smell it and it does have a familiarity of style but its own interpretation........mature yes but very pleasant and no slouch in the performance department. Over the years I've tried all the Aramis scents and I'm sorry to say I never did quite get to grips with the OG Aramis for Men but my Aramis favourites line up is now as follows: 1. Tuscany. 2. Special Blend. 3. Modern Leather. 4. Tobacco Reserve. 5. Gentleman (or Impeccable - quite similar). 6. Adventurer....yes really. 7. Havana.

What a let down,just when we thought Aramis was back on track with Gentleman,they bring out this disapointing blend of nothingness. I couldn't really identify any of the ingredients and it lasted about 10 minutes on my skin. About as desirable as a blue urinal block.If you thought Aramis Life was boring,this is even worse.A total waste of money. Why didn't Lauder Group launch Mustang (a very under-rated fragrance) as an Aramis brand instead of promoting it as a cheap & cheerful budget range? Just to add to the above reveiw,I've had some time to think,and it still smells like blue urinal block with lavender! Sorry Aramis,you need to try harder: why not relaunch the fabulous Devin?

man i am glad i got this minty one.just when you think its all disappeared it comes out again.i like the seaweed note because it is a bit bitter. smells similar to skin bracer after shave with a bitter note.if i want to gripe about an aramis it will be about life my summer cologne.if i want to be shocked by an aramis it will be devin.aramis adventurer is a happy medium and i will be ready for this summer.wormwood or artemesia,i just love it! i think i recall one of the michael jordan colognes as having a similar note. i might be wrong.

At sea, down in the hold of a large 18th century wooden ship. It's been months with no land in sight. Of course there is no refrigeration, so all of the fruits, plants, and other food items are basically just in a constant state of prolonged decay. Some of the meats were preserved with black pepper and spices. There's nothing desirable about sucking on moldy lemons to stay alive. I might suspect the name "adventurer" was the most positive aspect the marketing department could extrapolate from this sense of being on a moldy ship at sea.

Well well well, what an unexpected nice surprise. Really sophisticated fresh summer scent, non offensive, perfect for office wear. Fresh, mellow, long lasting en really classy. Have been an Aramis-longtime-fan, particularly for Aramis900 and Devin, but this is also a keeper. And the modern interpretation of the classic bottle is also gorgeous. Well worth a try, a solid 8 for sure!

Although pleasant, it does tend to veer towards the generic marine freshie DNA. The lavender and gernanium lend a slight floral touch to it. The seaweed is prominent in this and reminds one of Bvlgari Aqva Marine. The performance though, is abysmal- not even 2 hrs! Shame as this could have been one of the dumb reaches for the summer.

Seems a confused offering from aramis it contains some of the orginal aramis dna early on but then drifts into modern aquatic territory its ok nothing special suitable for casual wear office daytime wear nothing offensive but nothing special

Same old same old, fresh but boring and uninspiring. Yaaaaaaaawn

A pleasant surprise and worth owning. Recommend for the price.
