Siberian Summer

This is the one that resembles SM and RM the most, IMO, albeit it is not of the same quality and much smokier. It has that familiar piney muskiness coupled with citrus notes in the opening that is present in SM, the musk here seems sharper, more stringent, and more urinous though. I get a lot of camphor and smoky birch-tar as well, not much of the floral notes though. I'm baffled by the "Summer" inclusion in the name because it is not something that I can see people wearing in the summer with it being more suited for winter. However, it is a likeable fresh scent that will attract many compliments, especially once you are past the very musky opening stage. If you missed out on Siberian Musk or Russian Musk, this is a great alternative. Longevity is fairly moderate on my skin, 6 hours max, longer on clothing. Edit: Longevity has definitely improved with age, the depth and muskiness seems stronger too.

SIberian Summer is like walking through a forest in the spring. Its bright and camphorous. But with a dark and mysterious edge to it. A great juxtaposition between the light and dark. If you enjoy pine or green fragrances, you will love this. The birch is more leathery than smokey, which is what id prefer. Not a fan of very smokey fragrances. Will be wearing this one for sure, sparingly at least. 8.5/10

It is a perfume produced by the famous Russian Adam, a citrus opening, and then soon turns into very strong musky base and may annoy those who are not familiar with this type of perfume. One of the reasons behind this is that house Areej is one of the few limited houses that uses natural ingredients in its perfumes from A to Z

Every so often, like, once a year or two, I bust out Siberian Summer and give it a run. Relax re, it's a small Lucky Scent sample, and I use it sparingly... The birch comes through loud and clear, alongside the musk, which is the standard Areej musk, known and loved by all. There are some beautiful white floral elements in the background, but they are well and truly outshone by the musk and birch. Bits of citrus creep through, but overall, this is an animalic campfire scent. I'm not exactly sure who this speaks to, but it is art WITHOUT a doubt, but I'm not sure if it's wearable art...

I perhaps hoped that this would take some of the floral approach found in Bortnikoff/Russian Adam's Amber Cologne...but no. Siberian Summer opens with a strangely fruity effect and brighter tones for sure giving a summery sense, but don't be fooled because soon enough you'll be hit pretty hard with the major themes. It's as if someone came along and poured, sharpness on to this fruity parade, almost that effect of balsamic vinegar on strawberries, it kinda works. I actually find the musk that develops slightly overbearing and pissy with the camphor and forest like accord at first, but does become more bearable and even somewhat likable. Then reverts back to being musty, with a metallic twang, I just can't stomach wearing it. Now I believe there's no deer musk in this and not to get too preachy because I can't talk (I've bought civet and such in the past) but I'm glad Adam is willing to explore other methods of producing animalic base effects, and to be fair the ones he's used it in this collection have been really well judged. Sometimes I will try a perfume that so obviously has a ton of civet replacer, not delicately woven into the tapestry of the scent but plonked in there, sinking right to the bottom and relentlessly bubbling away. Siberian summer is measured but is probably my least favourite. I honestly don't understand wanting to smell this way? It's a pass from me.

A moderately interesting but completely imbalanced Oriental chypre composition. The perfume opens with notes of fir, citrus, slight birch and camphor. The heart is champaca (not even grown in Russia) with some jasmine and galbanum. The perfume settles into a base of musk, vetiver, amber, cedar, vanilla and oakmoss. The perfume does not have a particularly evocative effect on my skin and comes across as a poor version of Norne. The masculine leaning perfume has moderate to strong sillage and projection and good longevity. Overall this is a huge step backwards for a much loved niche brand whose small batch perfumes sell out even before they hit the market. This is a time for reflection and care instead of rushing to the market.

I really enjoy this type of green scent, and this is ok, but I feel like I could get better frags like this easily elsewhere for much cheaper per ml. One that springs to mind I tried recently was Bottega Veneta Cipresso from their higher end line. Not a bad frag, but it doesn't draw my attention too much.

Got half a ml from this and it made my stomach turn completely....

Siberian Summer from Indie/Niche Haute Luxury Perfumery House Areej Le Doré currently based in Indonesia is part of the 5th Collection, it is a Chypre Woody Aromatic Musk Green Smoky Unisex perfume. It was launched in 2019; and the nose behind this fragrance is Russian Adam. A journey to unspoiled landscapes, this fragrance captures the purity of Siberian wilderness through pine accords, delicate florals, and a whisper of the Siberian summer breeze. Siberian Summer awakens to an acidic green citric accord of bergamot with lemon and a fresh, vibrant camphor, and already blending with the smoky density of smoked birch hovering in this icy air, and with crystal clear rays of sunlight passing through the endless rows of pine trees. That fresh green nuance of pine with spruce and camphor thankfully doesn't refer to cleaning products. Russian Adam with very high quality raw materials knew how to mix these ingredients very well. Then, in the center of this composition, the sunny notes gain strength and radiate a cozy warmth. With the brightness and intoxicating sweetness of champaka, it gently exposes its fruity and fresh character. The penetrating Arabian jasmine blooms with a sharper, more natural sweetness. Galbanum adds just the right dose of an herbal green bringing depth right into the heart of the fragrance. All of these notes harmonize to create the effect of a solar flare. Siberian Summer is a Delicious perfume, very pleasant. Excellent quality synthetic Siberian deer musk adds a good dose of a dry, animalistic facet to the base, but is devoid of an intensity that some may find challenging, especially in warmer climates. This dry musk fuses with a rich amber resin, smoky and bittersweet. Oakmoss adds yet another fresh green effect of forest floor, perfectly closing this invigorating, bright and radiant composition. That's it Russian Adam almost never makes mistakes!

The first thing to hit me after spraying two sprays of Siberian Summer was a beautiful musk. It pounced on me like a cat, this was followed by lime, bergamot and a smoky camphor note. The musk is nice and slightly sweet which is mixed in with a green pine and I'm picking up on a lot of smoke. It smells like your walking towards a piney musky smelling forest where there is smoke in the distance coming from within the forest. There is this slight woody aroma underneath the musk that is very nice indeed. It compliments the piney smoky musk. Eventually the vetiver comes with this woodyness and it adds a nice contrast to the musky pine scent accord. Though in the basenotes the cedar comes into play and that woodyness makes the scent smell very dry like smelling piney musk in a desert. Now it smells nice for a good while though it is a bit astringent and harsh smelling especially if you try to smell the scent up close. Then it does become a bit one dimensional and I do detect a pissy urine accord that I don't like. The musk will keep tantalizing your nose though I am not keen on the cedar and when it turns very dry and I mean desert dry. At this stage I cannot help feeling that I have had enough. The longevity is good with over several hours and more but like a lot from the range the projection is below average. This does stay close to you.

This is definitely a departure from ALD’s natural musk-forward creations. This lacks the same creamy tenderness, which (in my opinion) is not a fault or overall lacking. I appreciate the dry crispness of this modern chypre composition. From the first application to now having worn the frag several times, I can say for me this is birch— woody and smoky—then tangy and limy with the floral, urinous undertones you’d hope for. The dryness of the frag definitely make it more summer friendly, I’d say, coming from a humid region. I abstain from most of ALD during the summertime (except at night or alone) because the muskiness can become so suffocating. Those I prefer during the colder months. This is definitely a keeper for me! Edit: after this bottle has aged (or after my senses have adjusted to perceiving the frag) I am getting less and less smoky birch and increasingly more supple champaca here. The limy bright notes shine through as well. This formulation’s effect is definitely deepening and widening.

A grown up fragrance. I bought a 2ml sample from a trusted eBay seller for £20. One spritz on my wrist and now Ive a curtain of muskiness enveloping me. So I’m pretty certain this sample will last me a while. I’m so tempted to buy a full bottle. This is not for everyone and I’m doubting I’ll get many compliments. This is for me and me alone. Edit: My partner hates it. Says I smell like a dirty old man. Shame as I love it and will keep on using for as long as it lasts.

I don‘t find this as animalic as other musk centered creations from him, it‘s even rather soft with the vanillic drydown to me... Nonetheless a nicely done composition, fresh, green, smoky, with gentle touch of animalic musk & soft/sweet base
