Jupiter’s Lightning

As the person below me stated, its very annoying to see people hating a fragrance they haven't smelled. That or asking questions in the form of a review. What even is the point of it besides wasting space? With that said. I blind bought this and it just came in this morning. Im a pretty big fan of Argo's fragrances, I've sampled everything they have to offer and not everything they put out is a hit in my opinion. This one however is a hit. To start this fragrance leans more masculine overall. The opening begins with a very crisp citrusy wood quality. It kind of reminds me of the scent you get when you chop up a Yaupon holley. The lemon is prevalent along with the juniper berries, although im not sure if im getting the cardamom. The opening in this to me much different than Neptunes Trident. Now for the dry down phase the citrus becomes smoother and less prevalent. I'm getting more of the tea note mixed in with the cyprus, ceader and musk. The tea note in this is different from NT in a really nice way. It reminds me of a oolong tea and it mixes very well with all the other notes. The dry down also separates itself from its other fresh sibling. So for the the Sillage and longevity on this fragrance. I get about 6-7 hours of longevity before it becomes a total skin scent. Projection wise it can be strong if you over spray, you will fill a room. With the normal application however it is moderate. Jupiters Lightning is in my opinion its own standalone fresh fragrance from Argos. Owning this and Neptunes Trident would not be redundant in my opinion as they differ from one another enough to justify having both. Jupiters Lightning will work great as a year round fragrance with the exception of winter. It's fresh but also lukewarm and will work great for casual or formal occasions. As always sample first and get yourself a decant first. Especially if you'll be paying $200 for a 30ml bottle. Scent 9/10 Projection 5/10 although with over spraying it can be a 7/10 Longevity 6/10 Overall 7.5/10 for me.

When it comes to fresh fragrances, Argos absolutely delivered once again. The opening is electric: bright, sparkling, and almost effervescent. A vividly realistic blend of bergamot and lemon bursts forward, free of any chemical harshness, feeling juicy and natural rather than synthetic. This citrus core is sharpened and lifted by juniper berry, adding a subtle aromatic snap that keeps the freshness crisp and alive. As the fragrance settles, soft musky–tea nuances begin to emerge. It’s clear Argos has learned its lessons from Neptune’s Trident. The transition is smooth, never abrupt, and gives the scent a calm, composed elegance beneath the sparkle. In the drydown, the composition leans into musky clary sage and gentle woods, clean yet textured, grounding the fragrance without weighing it down. It’s fresh, but not hollow, airy; yet thoughtfully constructed. Performance is solid for a freshie: around 6–7 hours of longevity, with projection that isn’t explosive but remains pleasantly noticeable, though it could have pushed a little harder. All in all, this is a damn good fragrance. Bright, refined, and confident fresh scent done right, with character and restraint rather than loudness for its own sake;

I now have this, Neptunes Trident, Adonis Awakens, and Triumph of Bacchus. Im no expert but this and Neptune are what I'd wear in the summer. Neptune is a bit more fresh and projects a bit better, but thr scent profile for Jupiter is much better in my opinion and its more suited for the office or date night when you dont want everyone for a block away to smell you. It dries down into magic and if you need it to project across the whole office or restaurant you can spray more. Ive never understood why folks need every fragrance to smell a block away. Bacchus is also intimate. I think there is room for both. Jupiter and Adonis are my favorites, but Bachus and Trident are right there. It really depends on where I am going. I give Jupiter a 10 and wish I bought the bigger bottle. The way the scent morphs over 6-7 hours is magical.

Great scent, I didn't like it at first smell but it grew on me and performs very well on my skin

It's a blast of citrus and tea. To my nose, very similar to Nishane Wulong Cha, but Wulong is a bit softer and just a touch sweeter since there's no perceptible sweetness to Jupiter's Lightning. It's very astringent. It's the lemon rind, pith and all. Pretty decent projection. Average longevity. It's not my style. Blind buy fail.

This is my second entry into the house of Argos. After trying Adonis’s awakens, I fell in love with the boozy fruity intoxicating blend so I figured I would try to find a freshie, I work in the pool industry in Arizona where it gets 115°F. I really want something that sticks through the day that I could catch wiffs of. Jupiters lightning it starts off with a very fresh zingy blast of lemon slightly rind, but more so juicy. It feels thine out and aromatic with the juniper berries hiding behind it I don’t catch a lot of of the cardamom on top but I really appreciate the first impressions. The problem with the open it’s not strong 2 to 3 sprays of Adonis in the whole room is filled. I sprayed 2 mL of this and it falls to a skin scent rather quickly. I am disappointed with the projection of this. I sprayed it on a strip a couple hours ago, and I could barely detect it on the strip a couple hours later. When the base appears later in the dry down, the wood takes the front stage it settles in heavier and slightly musky where the lemon now comes from behind overall the blend seems good, but I would never pay retail price for this level of performance as an extrait at 35% I just can’t get behind it, it’s intimate and weak. Overall I do feel disappointed more with performance than smell, but enough so to not have this in the running for a summertime go to...overall safe and crowd pleasing but weak. This, to me, is "Town and Country EDT". Not a bad thing, but maybe not a good thing either. One of the things I love about T&C is just how strong it is. This is that, without the throw. I will say, it's a far better composition than Neptune's Trident.

Zero projection, zero sillage. Seems like that kind of perfume like Not A Perfume or Another 13.

There's 6 reviews below me and 5 of them aren't even reviews. You guys should stop posting on fragrantica if you don't have a review. I'm here for the reviews, not your streams of conscious. Anyway, I received a sample of this after really looking forward to it and I'm pleased. Argos can be quite challenging, but this one is pretty easy to like. It may not be as mass appealing as Neptunes, but it's not difficult to enjoy. It's classy, green, and good for a young adult who doesn't want to shout for attention, but rather instead quietly accept it. I'll give it a full wear later, but from a quick spray to the wrist, I do get the Clary Sage and Cypress. It's not too sharp, it's light and a little crisp, and it's not loud either. It reminds me of Argos Pour Homme or a less sweet Bacio Immortale, but a lighter and fresher version of those two. I'll try and add more after I give it a full wear. --------------------------------------------------------- Edit: After giving it a full wear, the first thing that strikes me is how light this one is. This is not a projection monster. It seems to be really just a skin scent almost. A musky and somewhat green skin scent, and when it dries, the tea REALLY begins to become apparent. Despite that however, for the scent alone, I really do like it. Some might understandably have big gripes with the high price tag to pay for a tea skin scent, and I could even agree. $200 for retail is probably okay, but close to $400? Please. Get real. I got a 10ml decant of this one for about $50 from a friend, and I'm very happy with that price (but who am I kidding, I might charge this one to my credit and just pay it off biweekly). Final notes: Starts off musk + green, ends up musk + tea. Smells great, but almost $400 for a skin scent?? Scent: 9/10. Projection: 4/10. Longevity: 4 hours tops, maybe 6 if you over spray. Overall: 6 out of 10

All I can say is, underwhelming and annoying. Furthermore can we please stop copying other fragrances? Tweaking one or two notes and calling it your own still doesn't negate the fact that this smells like Town and Country and Lucius, in the faintest possible way like an EDT. Jesus H, I mean whoever doesn't know about Town and Country and Lucius, go smell them.. smell this and you'll probably go back and change your review. This constant cloning s@#t is annoying. I was excited to get this in a one ml sample and I'm glad I only got a sample. It's a watered down faintest of faint scented T&C and Lucius. Bottom line. No originality whatsoever. Neptune's trident was a little little bit feminine leaning for me and harsh transition, so I went with Bvlgari pour Homme edp which is a bitter tea but awesome drydown. I’m a big fan of Argos as a house, though I currently only own one full bottle (Adonis Awakens). I’m definitely hoping to add a few more over time. I had high expectations for Jupiter’s Lightning and was really hoping it would be full-bottle worthy, but this one feels quite different from most of Argos’ usual style. The scent itself is very light and airy. To my nose, it comes across as Argos’ take on Gentle Fluidity Silver. Unfortunately, performance is where it falls short. Projection is soft, and it settles into a skin scent fairly quickly. It may perform better in warmer weather, but as it stands, I would reach for Neptune over this without hesitation.

This is unfortunately, a very uninspiring release from a house which I have come to love. The scent profile isn't bad as it's a lesser version of FdB's Lucius or CC's T&C but it's just fairly blah and for the price point there's nothing to make it stand out. Aside from that, it's a below average performer as well and I don't know which of the afore mentioned is worse. Overall, this isn't full bottle worthy for me, let alone decant worthy for what I paid for a 17ml.

In my opinion this smells like a hybrid of Town & Country and Cashmere Musk (2 of my favourites) It’s ok but just not necessary when you have those two that do the job amazingly.

The next mid level juice pushed by influencers as the new best thing. It's mid. DEF not worth the price.

What’s better? This or neptunes trident? Yes ik Neptune is more suited for summer.
